Morning. Thanks for the photos icemist and the giggles orphan - apparently I have a special laugh when I'm on this thread Smile. Had to check when matthew goode played in the good wife -passed under my radar, still can't quite believe they killed Will off. Just back from sunny and frosty walk with dog and off to my mum's as brother and family are up so Xmas round 2. Stag pants on and ready for action.
have a good day everyone will try and check in later

Richtea19 · 28/12/2014 10:59

Morning all all, head appears to be in one piece, and a lovely lay in. No recruits for OG last night. But to be honest I didn't really mention to anyone as I couldn't be doing with the blank looks, I think I prefer it be me guilty pleasure and don't want to share with anyone in RL!

Yes it's Matthew Goode, certainly his face isn't as strong as BAs but one to watch out for i think. In the new series of the Good Wife, airs UK in January he is in and (spoiler alerts) will be a love interest for Alicia. I was devastated when Will died :( Tom Ellis looks like a prime specimen for Operation Bulge.

cherin · 28/12/2014 11:37

Might gonna need to check him up!! Super windy and cold here, too. Went out and came back frozen stiff. Now in bed with DS2 (ah, what a lovely excuse these naps!) and checking ff. Some are really, really bad....ridicolously so!

orphan · 28/12/2014 11:44

Made me giggle, richtea saying Matthew Goode's 'one to watch out for'. I pictured the OG collective with notebooks at the ready, scanning the TV schedules.

It's a bit annoying though just how much CJ has ruined other actors for me. We watched as a family the first Lord of the Rings film (spurred on by our Hobbit visit) and my heart just didn't race in the old way for Aragorn. Poor Viggo (aka The Raisin, thanks cherin!)he never thought he'd be relegated to second division in my affections.

cherin · 28/12/2014 12:09

Viggo the Raisin sounds almost mystic, uh? :-)))

Yesterday I showed my mil the pictures of CJ and she laughed out loud, admitting that yes, he looks like his son when he was younger. A bit more handsome, obviously.
Having watched a bit of episode again, I also think it's his voice that gets me.
(The spandex-ballet-rubber thighs in Reign, on the other had, are not really my kettle of fish ;-) low slung combats forever!!)

icemistOBE · 28/12/2014 12:54

anytime I watch Eastenders and Lacey is in a scene I am waiting for CJ! And I can't help but think ooh BA would be much better in that role etc...

Quickly checking in again before going out with my daughter and have had to make excuse for sudden burst of laughter. richtea the reminder of your unique artwork made me crack up. Your CJ Collective collection will probably be used as Exhibit A when our sanity is called into question.

Nickel45 · 28/12/2014 17:12

Got my DVD, and 2 CDs with all the songs I wanted on. Yippeeeee! Now just need to lose DH and kids so I can enjoy them!

My CJ Collective collection also includes:
Checked shirt .. Lined with something fluffy so lovely and snugly,
Pants with bell!
A mumsnet account,
An appreciation for zombies (my DS started writing a story today called zombie rats .... I am 100% sure I've not mentioned this to him!?!?),
Lots of pictures ... Including one on the fridge DH hasn't noticed! :),
An iTunes account,
OG series from iTunes (although they don't all fit on my ipad, yet!),
Learning I can write (not very good) limericks,
Fanfic,
A whole new vocabulary and ....
Lots of new friends with the same weird obsession ... Which is probably the best bit! Although the shirt is very cosy!!!!

Oh I love that snuggly lined checked shirt! Am just about to try and grab some time to myself to finally watch an episode of my DVD... Think there's a possibility I may just combust with delayed lust gratification.

Richtea19 · 28/12/2014 17:56

I have managed to watch Ep2 and 3 this afternoon, and now watching Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship. Orlando Bloom doesn't do it for me or the raisin. I do beleive BA should be cast in every male, hero role!

I read the latest episode of the QS FF by Jenmc I am really enjoying it Wink

cherin · 28/12/2014 18:21

Link please! It's almost bedtime for DS2, which means quiet ff time for me :-)
I haven't got much stuff, but I treated myself to decent paper and pencils (at least a step up to the 99p store paper, that was a something in between greaseproof and toilet paper :-)

The best bit is by far you guys Blush

pixieg1rl · 28/12/2014 18:24

Hello people, I've been reading and not posting much. I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps, I never really enjoy this time of year and this year has been very hard for me personally. Add a house move, stress at work and child who seems to be perpetually sick and I'll be glad to see the back of this year. Time to up my vitamin D intake and get some winter walks in.

In counting my OG blessings, it's been lovely to meet some like minded people, enjoy the banter, get some stag pants (DS has discovered that when I wear them he can make my tummy ring), and start writing some FF.

And on that note, I'm very jealous of those people who have found time to write so much over Xmas. I'm struggling to find the time. I think I've got one chapter of R&R day done, but writing 3 at the same time is challenging!

Richtea19 · 28/12/2014 19:00

Sorry pixie you are feeling a bit down. This time of year can be very much either way, and I supoose what with your house move etc, it's all a bit unsettled. Don't be down in the dumps read some FF! cherin I'm sorry but I havent a clue how to do links. It's the story called involved and I think the latest chapter is 6.

Just a bit of observation having re watched a few episodes today.

  1. Smurf wears his combats high waisted, really not a good look
  2. Kinders has THE MOST Amazing muscular smooth, velvety, shiney skin
  3. Dangles has a beautifully pert bottom
  4. I fancy CJ just as much, I am in for the long haul

BA is alive as he's re-tweeted earlier today.
Read on another website that it can take on average 3 months to get an autograph back. I'll be lucky to get mine at all if he's back to Canada soon Hmm

pixie so sorry you've had a hard time over Christmas x (virtual hug). A house move on top of Christmas is hard enough in itself, without anything else. I hope you are getting a bit of a break from work, and that your child gets better quickly. Kids seem to pick up everything at this time of year, don't they? I'd say, don't worry about the ff, it should be something you do because you want to.... Not a chore. Ignore us lot gagging for the next ones. It's just cos we love it, but your health and family must come first. Wow! That's a bit serious!! I find catching up on this is quite therapeutic, although I haven checked Facebook or emails for days!

pixie, sorry that you've had a tough year & hope that the next one will be happier & healthier x

monopod · 28/12/2014 20:43

Hello everyone, belated Merry Christmas wishes to you all. Think it might have been a few weeks since I last posted, although I've been reading all this while so have kept up with your exploits! Feel inordinately proud at what my suggestion to start some FF has started off...

Don't want to muscle in on pixie's last post in any way - pixie, I'm very sorry to hear that things have been difficult for you and my thoughts really go out to you. Guess that maybe I understand in some way... it's only this week that I feel like I've come back from the brink. Lost my way, felt like I was cracking up for several weeks - don't know what the tipping point was - but have started seeing someone (therapeutically) and writing which have both helped and I feel much more stable now and no longer so fragile and volatile. The break from 'normal' life, such as it is, couldn't have come at a better time.

Unlikely to be posting much again but wanted to thank you all for the smiles you've given me over the past few weeks! Double away, more stag-themed exploits, shameless CJ-lusting, QS etc. etc. please Smile And a very happy New Year to you all in advance too. Hope 2015 brings you all much happiness!

icemistOBE · 28/12/2014 20:49

Sorry youve had a rough time of it pixie

Wow icemist that's a fantastic amount of views! I have just watched Ep 5 (with headphones) boys watching Independence day. I love the resturant scene SO MUCH!!! I'm feeling warm inside :)

nickel you mentioned about not having room on your ipad for all episodes, DS told me you don't download as it takes up memory, but you can put them on yiur iCloud, which allows you to watch without taking up too much space. Think that makes sense.

cherin · 28/12/2014 20:51

Oi, thanks for the link! I read the involved before (good...just steamy enough for me ;-), but I didn't recognise the name of the writer :-))

pixie moving home is by far the most stressful thing you can do. Mix it with kids (small? Plural? That's the worst possible permutation!) and it's going to challenge even Wonder Woman. Also, all this hype about Xmas and the consumism and the expectation for a grand day...it's always stressful and almost impossible to meet the expectations. There's always a cranky kid, a sick relative, an unexpected something that takes your energy or time or money or all of that. I think just shifting the focus from Xmas to "the holiday break" makes it easier, mentally.

In my case, I am surprised the kids are that manageable this time around, the little one in particular is known for being in prolonged terrible2s (he's 3 and 1/4!), but he hasn't thrown a tantrum in 7 days. Shhhhhhhhhss, now I called it...
He's such an attention-seeker, but with more people around he gets his attention in high dosage and doesn't need to scream. And I am not working now (he hates me going to work. The more he does, the more he behaves badly, the fonder I am of my work and the cycle goes in loops...you know the drill).
Sooooo, I just wanted to give you a pat in the back and ended up completely side tracked. Back to start: virtual pat on the back for you. It can get better, I hope the worst is over and I really wish you all the best now. :-)
