Merry Christmas everyone!

apsara03 · 25/12/2014 10:48

Merry Christmas everyone. Presents all unwrapped by 7:15. Now deep in leg of here as well Xmas Smile

Nickel45 · 25/12/2014 12:06

Hope you are all having a lovely day. We are just at the beach, was wandering along watching the kids playing in the sand, thinking of afghan sand and grime and soldiers!!! Anyway, back home for lunch, present opening this afternoon. Have fun all Xmas Smile

threadNneedle · 25/12/2014 12:30

Merry Christmas one and all. No need to cook thank goodness but thought I'd put some bloody effort in and polish the glasses and cutlery. Rather satisfying outcome.

Just wondering what OG-isms have become part of your everyday speech. I now ask 'who has eyes on' (my LO) and use 'crack on' a lot.

Have a fun afternoon

moojangles · 25/12/2014 13:14

nickel was there yesterday, went for a walk along the river crouch today.
Lots of OGisms in my life snyway but my new favourite word is indeed indeed!
Have a good day xx

Ilovelblue · 25/12/2014 13:54

Merry Christmas everyone and hope those who had to wait out for the OG DVD got a copy. If not, I think Amazon and HMV may have a rush on after Christmas.

My Bailbrook House friend gave me a little extra in my present which was a tiny Action Man type figure and she had stuck CJ's face on the front. So either she is indulging my obsession or secretly is as obsessed as I am!

We are off to friends now for a late Christmas dinner so I feel very spoiled today.

Threadneedle I've started saying "Lovely" rather a lot and also "Dig in" whereas previously I would say tuck in probably. Find it hard to use "wait out" though - have had a few funny looks when I've tried that one.

Hope we're all back on here soon. Who would have thought we would have lasted this long, eh?

xx

elsie3g · 25/12/2014 14:10

Merry Xmas all! Xmas Smile

Nickel45 · 25/12/2014 14:34

It's a lovely day to be by the water mooj :)

I seem to use lovely, indeed, might gonna, and focus up, but also seem to hear OGisms everywhere!! On the radio the other day someone said "gather round, gather round", reminded me of smurf!!!

Nickel45 · 25/12/2014 14:37

Love the action man present ilove :)

Rhubarb01 · 25/12/2014 14:41

Merry Christmas All!

Christmas Lunch mission completed. Now off to in-laws!
Have a good day everyone!

Richtea19 · 25/12/2014 17:20

nickle how lovely to get a walk on the beach. We are all totally full from lunch. Dad having a kip on the settee, DH taken boys out for a walk, in the dark with torches!

ilove I want an action man! The one with fuzzy hair!!! I've done a lot of "wait out" mainly for opening pressys! And "dig in" for the veggies on the table!

I can't tell you all enough what you have done for me. You are all so special, and I love you all, Happy Christmas x x Xmas Smile

apsara03 · 25/12/2014 19:39

I want a CJ action man too.
Did anyone else see the stags on the programme about the queen's garden? Not something I would watch the - was in my
mum's kitchen getting everyone drinks -sadly not nespresso machine and had a nice moment to myself watching the beautiful stags.
Also had a nice read of the together at Christmas fanfic -clearly written by someone reading this with references to "captain stern-face".
Phrases I now use - lovely, Indeed, stay with me (to dog and when D'S dawdles) stay focused, might gonna.

firegirl · 25/12/2014 19:43

Happy Christmas everyone! Am finally proud owner of OG pilot DVD and OG series DVD. Result!! So I want Christmas to be over right now and everyone go home so I can watch it all on the big telly. (Not really. Well a bit, actually). Although ilove 's action man is quite a good present too. Well done your friend, ilove!

cherin · 25/12/2014 19:56

Sounds like we've all survived somehow, phew! Good to hear it went well!!
Anyone else needs to report for duty? Nobody AWOL?

Ours was a celebration in large style, even if one of the great grand kid was sick so we ended up being only 19 instead of 26...but there was food for 26 and more, I hope the leftovers were properly distributed. My kids were spoilt by an astronomical amount of toys, I'll never be able to get even, am feeling slightly embarrassed. The big one is in Lego Heaven. Now he knows it exists...next year will surely be a disappointment!
More importantly, my 90yo granny was happy to have all of us around, and the kids socialised with the newest additions of the gang (DS2 decided he wants to invite his 7months old new cousin to a party in his bedroom in London, and then she can stay to live there. He expressed himself in both languages to be clear...She was gurgling of happiness, we think)

But boy, that's the type of thing you could only do every few years (how about a Xmas every 4 years, uh?). We are knackered. :-)

I may treat myself to some OG via YouTube tonight!!

cjwoofwoof · 25/12/2014 21:08

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you've had a lovely day. I'm cream crackered after only 4 hours sleep waiting out for my youngest to finally go to sleep last night so Santa could do his thing, so may hit my pit soon as they're all distracted watching Transformers divd.

OG words I use all the time now are Double-away to the dog and wait out when kids are asking for food etc. Even stags only has crept in as I have 3boys! Don't even notice I say the words now.

Enjoy the rest of the evening and Boxing Day. icemist I will adore that Captain Stern face with Headset pic from this morning forever, it's the nuts...see? I told you I use the words all the time.

icemistOBE · 25/12/2014 21:27

Anyone else watch eastenders? I'm sure they're trying to drop in as many OG lines as possible - already had 'hearts and minds' 'we're nearly there' 'you don't look to shabby yourself'- can't be an accident ;-)

It's a pretty miserable episode so far though, not quite got to the end so it all kick off yet!

elsie3g · 25/12/2014 22:07

Spoke too soon. It's just kicked off!

Ilovelblue · 25/12/2014 22:30

Just checking in again. Seems we have all stayed focused and are alive, just not sure how alert we all are at the moment. Had one very small glass of wine as we were driving so am now sitting looking at this thread, eating one of my Hungarian mince pies and swigging coffee. Will make up for the almost non-alcohol free day tomorrow I think. Have recorded quite a bit to watch on television so if the weather is rotten as predicted, that will keep us happy tomorrow evening.

Glad everyone got their OG DVDs. Have you all forgotten the script through the lack of watching? It will soon come back to you, I'm sure.

Ditto to Richtea's comment - this thread has become very special!

Didn't think my Action Man-type CJ doll would have aroused so much interest. (Perhaps aroused isn't the right word really). He is quite small......... hahahaha.

Night all!

Nickel45 · 25/12/2014 23:11

Hope you all had a lovely day. I'm cream crackered to off to bed (already fell asleep on the sofa!). Ditto again to richtea and ilove, you us are brill, and very special. I'm glad you are all in my life :)

icemist just saw this, and it made me think of you ;)

Nickel45 · 25/12/2014 23:13

Blimmin phone ... I'll start again ... You lot are brill and very special ... Must dig out the ipad for tomorrow!

Rhubarb01 · 25/12/2014 23:24

Ditto nodding off on sofa - during Downton, kept having to ask DD "Did I miss anything!" The answer is not a lot and we also laughed inappropriately on a fair number of occasions (I think those were the bits the Radio Times described as sad - frankly the whole thing's got SAD)

Also spotted Molly's Nan in Call the Midwife. Won't say what she was doing in case you haven't seen it.

That's it again for another year! Hope you all had a good day. Now looking forward to Boxing Day as its usually more relaxed!

orphan · 25/12/2014 23:54

Merry Christmas! Seems everyone's had a good day.

Really great day here and am now far too full and had rather too much prosecco, but my eldest didn't let me down. No more waiting out, I now have my very own dvd!! Haven't had time to watch it yet though, but just owning it makes me feel happy! Xmas Smile

icemistOBE · 26/12/2014 08:29

Love that pic icemist, looking stern and important!

A new chapter from SPO, thank you SPO, lovely Christmas present :) brilliant chapter, love the chanook explanation (!), badges and great cliffhanger! Can't wait till the next!

DH forgot to bring any presents for me, to my parents, so still waiting for my DVD but according to littlie it's waiting under the tree (better had be or DH in BIG trouble!). Having been up most of the last two nights with one or other child, while he slept obliviously, he has lots of making up to do!?! He is going back home today, while we stay here till Sunday, so I reckon he should take the kids out all day on Monday do I can have a marathon CJ ogling OG watching session!
