I'm so glad I'm not the only disorganised one on here. I am usually very good and the annoying sort who has all her Christmas cards ready to post out in early December etc etc but this year I just can't get in the mood. It's partly because my Mum died recently, I know that, but it's also largely because I have been so obsessed with CJ/OG. I have stopped reading at night when I go to bed and am either on this thread or reading the fanfiction. (Do you all agree that the more recent ones, including our own of course have improved dramatically from the ones which were on there when we were first introduced to it by.... I can't remember who it was now!)

I think it was only the fact I was having this mad conversation with CJ in my head whilst in Tesco this lunchtime that stopped me from hurling something at that stupid OAP who wasn't even packing up her shopping. Decompression? What's that!?

We're having a Strictly party here tomorrow so have done another session of cooking but only four of us fortunately. Three lots of evenings I've hosted this week - feel like a bloody restaurant! I should stop being so hospitable. Mind you, we will all sit round the fire and the television so it shouldn't be too much effort.

Anyone who is out on the town tonight, have fun!!

Ilovelblue · 19/12/2014 19:40

Richtea - that is one expensive argument with a bollard.

Richtea19 · 19/12/2014 19:55

ILove, strictly party that sounds fun! We are out so will miss it :). I want Caroline to win.

Yes, bollard. Not very popular with DH!!
Back on the prosecco !

Ilovelblue · 19/12/2014 19:58

I need Caroline to win because I have a bet on her. If I don't win, the money will probably go towards the bookies' Christmas party. It's the only time I ever bet! None of us know the first thing about dancing but we are all experts when it comes to Strictly!

Have to go and put some bloody effort in now and put some Christmas decorations up. We are a decoration free house currently and what's more, I don't actually care very much.

Back later hopefully.

Ilovelblue · 19/12/2014 20:00

Oh I am such a mess at the moment. I'm sitting crying at an advert for guide dogs. I've not even had anything to drink. Hormones and the time of the year I reckon.

pixieg1rl · 19/12/2014 20:47

Wow, you've excelled yourselves today people.

I'm using the move as an excuse not to participate in Christmas. No cards will be sent. I'm seeing my family tomorrow and will do presents then. I haven't got anything for my mum yet. (I don't have a good relationship with my mum)

The older I get the less bothered I am by Christmas. I love doing stuff with and getting presents for DS & my nephews. The adults can make do with something tokenistic like a bottle of plonk. DP is utterly rubbish at present buying, so it's never worth getting my hopes up on that front.

apsara03 · 19/12/2014 21:00

pixie :( but understand what you mean. Too much hype and commercialism. Hope you find time to rest and relax despite the move.
Ilove enjoy your strictly party and hope those out tonight have a great time.
I agree with whoever wrote than fanfic is getting better -sounds more like CJ and MD.

cherin · 19/12/2014 21:03

Same here! Even if DH is now compensating for a few Xmas with no presents, and in the past couple of years has actually been good. Practical gifts, but good (things I actually wear and use).
Because we fly cattle class and very early in the morning, we try our best to only use hand luggage...which means all our presents are tiny, rigorously unwrapped (I wrap at destination), and carefully selected. Kids only. No liquids. Preferably something English or in English (secretly received with a "oh gosh another DVD I have to bloody translate for the bloody kid!" :-) but I firmly believe that's the way to go! Force language upon kids when they are small enough, they'll watch whatever....)

cherin · 19/12/2014 21:05

(I mean anything in any language. dS1 once watched for 30' Candy Candy cartoon in Japanese with Croatian subtitles. That was fun...)

icemistOBE · 19/12/2014 21:18

I've been re-reading captains log today. snd some others there have been huge improvements in what has been published.
Wonder if SPO wrote his Smurf PoV so we can publish those as they are brilliant

Ditto ilove (apart from strictly, I've not got into that), but I've not read a book in months, and usually I have 2 or 3 on the go!! I am so behind with Christmas, but did finally get all my Christmas cards done today ... Well, the ones I had to do! And now I should be wrapping presents, but am back on here ... and can't motivate myself to go do anything else! Although I have just realised that I haven't watched any OG today . . . Which is a first! But there is still time!
i can't even get to sleep at a reasonable time at the moment, cos my head is so overloaded, and I have never had trouble sleeping, ever! So consequently very tired, which also doesn't help! Anyway, enough of this, I am going to wrap one present just so I feel like I've not wasted another evening (not 'wasted', but you know what I mean!). :)

Ilovelblue · 19/12/2014 22:30

Nickel I used to be in bed always by about 10.45 and lights out 11ish, occasionally a bit later, but since I discovered this thread and have had the DVD, I've rarely been putting the lights out before midnight and then of course, I am kn.....d in the morning.

I've put up some decorations and nicked a load of holly with berries on from my neighbour's tree next door. Not that he would mind, but I must have looked odd outside at 10pm with my secateurs, especially in the rain.

I don't have much trouble getting to sleep but then again, I imagine CJ is next to me. Works every time!

I do struggle still a bit with the fanfiction - the ones post episode 5 or the ones that go totally "off piste" - because I tend to get mixed up with who has written what and then I have to go back and read previous chapters to remind myself. What have we got into here?

Just watching the best bits of episode 3 before I try to go to bed a bit earlier tonight.

Nickel45 · 19/12/2014 22:51

ilove I was the same! If I'm in bed, at the moment, ready to go to sleep by midnight, it's a miracle. I've been falling asleep on littlies floor most nights cos I'm so exhausted, then using that as the excuse to read a bit more later on ... Not good! I still haven't wrapped anything, but did get all the presents out, sorted out what I've got, and put the ones I am going to wrap on my bed!!! Definite progress from any other night!

Agreed about the fanfic too, the ones way after ep 5 are not the same, and I can't believe how many have molly getting pregnant! I prefer the ones set in the series or immediately after, and the ones that stay true to the series. I do like some that are Molly's next tour, especially with CJ in too, I think theres one called Perhaps? I like that one.

Right, was just watching 'what women wants' (cant beat a bit of Mel Gibson when I'm trying not to watch OG) which has now finished so am actually going to wrap something now!!

Beingfrank · 19/12/2014 23:11

I know what you mean about not reading - my family are always teasing me about my overdeveloped "kindle finger". I have hardly read anything since this all started- expect an Amazon profits warning soon!

Nickel45 · 19/12/2014 23:38

I've always refused to have a kindle, cos I didn't like the idea of not having a 'proper' book, now look at me, every night on the ipad reading!!! What has OG done to me!?!

orphan · 19/12/2014 23:46

Snap here about the dive in reading. Pre this thread I was an avid reader with at least 2 books on the go and always read before I went to sleep. I haven't touched a book in weeks! There's a pile next to my bed which are gathering dust.

Now that I've wrapped quite a few presents I feel rather more sorted, but I've decided to follow cherin's advice and ditch the cards. I usually end up writing them then miss the posting deadline anyway. I feel there are far more important things to be doing: reading OG ff, daydreaming about CJ wrestling with Rupert Friend and Richard Armitage, wondering if there really is nothing between the black leather and the bulge, to name just a few.

orphan · 19/12/2014 23:52

Oh and there are some lovely people out there: the shopping I lost yesterday has been found and handed in! So, my son will get his pants in his stocking after all!Smile

I know nickel, getting the shopping back made me feel a little less Grinch-like. Just wish I'd had the same result when i lost my phone a few months ago!

I don't understand why there isn't a proper OG soundtrack to buy. It's such a brilliant selection of songs and has introduced me to loads of new artists.

Right, going to bed. Sweet CJ dreams everyone. (I'm hoping mine will involve CJ, landing strips and touch downWink)

Richtea19 · 20/12/2014 00:42

Just back from our night outand another couple that never watched OG, who are these people that did watch it? Lovely eve though. One of girls that was with us, her husband left her last year, they had been married 16 years and had a surprise baby, and when she was 4, decided he didn't love her any more, in fact told her he didn't love her since she was 6 months pregnant! Bloody men. Anyway lovely eve. In hotel and first time we have separate rooms to the children. They are next door and asleep!! But feel rather grown up!

orphan brilliant you got your shopping back, there are decent people about.

Books. I have 3 books on my window sil in the bedroom collecting dust. I don't find time anymore. When I used to read I am here, or reading FF or searching BA!!! I must make more of an effort.

It's been a strange day today, with the excitement of BA's return and too much booze, and being away.

Oh and on the present front, I never expect anything for DH. It's normally a Christmas Eve rash purchase. I would rather he didn't bother.

cherin · 20/12/2014 00:50

I am also finally off to bed, ironed 3 piles of laundry and watched last episode of the Fall. No spoiling anything yet, but may need to discuss at some point..
On a parallel topic (as I can't get a serial killer out of me head that easy before bed), I like the klipdoctor series "the road not taken" (and I adore to bits our SPO zombie fic). I am not that taken by others...not the others by klipdoctor, I mean, and I think it's because there's a bit too much perfection in Molly. She's heroic, she does everything right, all the pieces go together so well...there is no suspense. Molly is by design imperfect, messy, complicated, endearing but also rough and tough. This is what attracts CJ, too, that she's difficult to define. Now, she can't get too perfect too soon, right? Gain confidence, of course...but no miracles yet.

Ok rambling is over. Hit the pit, now let me see if I can fall asleep before the springs hit the floor ...

Richtea19 · 20/12/2014 00:58

Yes please, need to discuss the Fall, will wait out so no spoilers. Going to miss that silk blouse.

Need to sleep but can't sleep. Will make up silly dream of me standing at gates at LHR with a sign for BA, he rushes over to me... And the rest is M rated FF for my dream!

Nickel45 · 20/12/2014 01:15

DS woke with nightmares, so now in with me. So looks like no catching up on sleep tonight! DS fidgets!!! A lot!!! Yawn!

apsara03 · 20/12/2014 05:44

Woke up early. I also have not touched a book on months.
hurray orphan for getting your shopping back Smile
glad you had a lovely night out richtea.Smile I'm off out for drinks with my new found gym buddies tonight. We're off to a pub which has the reputation of being a squaddies pub as not far from barracks -don't suppose any of them will be in combats though -sigh.
Nickel exactly my thoughts on the Kindle and now All my reading is Fan fiction!!
wonder if there will be any more excitement today? Feeling the need to get stuff done - the house is a tip! rather than constantly checking twitter for updates

icemistOBE · 20/12/2014 06:52
