SCD 2014 #5: It's the final!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/12/2014 00:59

Following on from thread 4.

Last lap now everybody!

First time a couple have been against each other in the final I think. Fun dinnertimes this week in the Clifton-Hauer household I would imagine.

I'm vaguely hoping for a Caroline - Frankie/Simon - Mark result, although, other than Mark last I'm not too fussed really.

I'd be pleased with either Caroline or Simon. I love Kristina and Pasha and think they both deserve a win.

Frankie is nice enough and I'd probably be rootin for her if KFG hadn't turned all smug and showy this year.
I liked mark at first, and he's probably a nice bloke iRL. But the whole journey and the tears and the 'I'm a complete novice' has put me off him. Plus I've never warmed to
Karen.

RedTinsel · 19/12/2014 16:49

Oh how I've missed Artem getting his baps out!

BeHoHoHove · 19/12/2014 17:01

Hi Bollard

I wonder why some are vested and some bare chested?

Looking forward to the final !

GoatsHaveStrangeEyes · 19/12/2014 17:13

I liked Matt Di Angelo and Flavia's showdance. You could see all over that they were having a fling at the time, naughty!

GoatsHaveStrangeEyes · 19/12/2014 17:14

Oh and I want Caroline to win, have liked her from the start.

Simon to come second, Frankie third and then Mark.

GettingFiggyWithIt · 19/12/2014 19:57

Thank you red tinsel Xmas Grin it never fails to put a smile on my face...I was guilty of watching the chippendales many years ago though, and they used to do the press-ups schtick then jump over each other whilst still in press-up position. Was always my favourite bit.
Think the bare chested had more confidence in their six packs?
Still reckon Simon will pick up votes on the showdance music alone.

OodKingWenceslas · 19/12/2014 21:47

Been watching old strictlys. So much better without props and standing ovations.

Snowstorm · 19/12/2014 22:53

Is the show in two parts tomorrow night? We're going out at 8pm'ish - so presumably I'm going to miss finding out who won until Sunday morning?

SamCroClaus · 19/12/2014 22:59

are the standing ovations and cheering set up?

spookyskeleton · 20/12/2014 07:28

snowstorm yes it is in 2 plays but I am not sure of the exact times.

Whilst watching ITT last night, I realised that Tristan reminds me very much of John Barrowman - anyone else noticed this?

SpanishFly · 20/12/2014 07:48

No I don't see the John Barrowman thing at all. He does remind me of someone but I'm not sure who...

digerd · 20/12/2014 07:51

saturday strictly final at 6.30 - 7.55.

results show 8.50 - 10pm.

thefemaleJoshLyman · 20/12/2014 08:24

I agree with the John Barrowman thing. I mentioned it to DH ages ago! he thought I was crazy, clearly not. Grin

ppeatfruit · 20/12/2014 08:37

Thanks Grouchy I find it difficult to believe that Kristina is only 36 when she frowns!

Yes it's in 2 parts tonight , thanks digerd I'll record it anyway, I'm going to miss it Xmas Sad

I wondered why all the guests on IT2 said Caro to win, NOOOOO SIMON TO WIN!!!! I enjoyed the Chorus Line thing last night, brilliant and everyone congratulating Zoe, 'twas good.

CMP69 · 20/12/2014 08:40

I think I want Simon to win, but only because I like Kristina and "dislike" him least of the 5 (dislike is a stronger word than I mean but couldn't think how to phrase it Blush )
I'm out tonight too so will miss the second programme, unless it is on in the pub Wine Wine
Cheers SCD people Smile

Dipankrispaneven · 20/12/2014 09:15

I think it could be a mistake for Frankie to go for a rumba type dance. In many ways they do the trained dancers no favours taking them on - they always seem to get at or close to the final but never win, which means weeks of extremely hard work for little result apart, of course, from the publicity.

I'd like Simon to win, I like the fact that he takes it seriously and has worked so hard to get all the little details right. And I loved his foxtrot last week, it's gone into my personal list of favourites.

R4roger · 20/12/2014 09:46

dont think frankie will win despite being brilliant, as she hasnt had a journey.
not so keen on mark
do like caroline and simon so wont mind either way.

hope there is no truth in rumours about pasha as i love rachel Sad

R4roger · 20/12/2014 09:47

Zoe had a lot of young staff members dancing at the end of the show last night Grin
Love Zoe, didnt think I would

DaisyFlowerChain · 20/12/2014 10:58

I'd like to see Mark win, not keen on Simon but would rather than him that's Frankie or Caroline given their past dance histories. Three years of dance training doesn't appear to have been mentioned much by Caroline Hmm

ppeatfruit · 20/12/2014 13:25

R4roger When I first started watching IT2 I thought that Zoe kept it together soooo well and I've continued to be impressed by her intelligence, common sense, and plain niceness (lack of side). Xmas Grin

It was obvious that the staff, pros. and contestants like her too. Blimey all that AND can dance also looks good Xmas Shock Xmas Grin

R4roger · 20/12/2014 13:44

I bet Zoe has loads of people talking in her ear, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, break to camera etc., but she is so unflustered and nice and funny

ppeatfruit · 20/12/2014 13:53

Exactly R4!

Daisy Interestingly Frankie answered a question about her dance training on R2 that they didn't ask Caroline, I suppose if no one asks then she doesn't need to answer.

Here we go Smile

Woo hoo its the final. Come on Caroline and pasha.

I'm only going to be watching the fire half as I have to go out for a bit later but I'll be sneakily checking my phone to catch up with you.
