Following on from thread 4.

Last lap now everybody!

First time a couple have been against each other in the final I think. Fun dinnertimes this week in the Clifton-Hauer household I would imagine.

I'm vaguely hoping for a Caroline - Frankie/Simon - Mark result, although, other than Mark last I'm not too fussed really.

Oh yes, Colin's show dance was awful too but not in a funny way like Lisa's. I was gutted as I really wanted Colin to win but I knew he didn't stand a chance after that. All the judges hated it if I remember rightly and Erin looked totally bemused as she thought it was great! So weird.

Am expecting their first dance judge's choice to be

Am expecting their second dance(finalists) choice to be
Frankie Viennese waltz

Mark (if not out first) Samba

I liked Zoe Ball 's showdance best of all....it is on YouTube week 10 zoe and Ian showdance...they got to perform it after already having been voted out, same music as Frankie's paso.

Yeah the judges slated Colins show dance. It was such a shame cos he'd been amazing till then.

They likened her showdance to something you would see at the pier if I remember correctly
Then Darren and Lilia stormed it with a discoathletic number in white? Still liked Zoe best though.
Thing is Erin was trying to show that Colin was now so good he could completely lead on his own without any manipulation from her...bit like on Dancing on ice when they used to do solo bits.
Still at least her and Colin won a Xmas special eventually, I think.

Kara: hand spring? Leotard to show she could outmatt Matt?

Amber: guns n roses paso dry ice overload

Actually, I think he was third (Denise Lewis was second?) but I can't remember that one.

Jill actually wore red I think. I know she danced to You're Just too Good to be True.

Julian Clary and Erin were just wonderful.
Maybe Denise wore yellow?
I could youtube it if I weren't so lazy.
The only runner up freestyle I remember were the ones that I felt let down by...Chelsea's one night only mess, Matt's cartwheels, Ricky's last dance although the end lift was amazing, Kim's underwhelming beyonce. The rest are a blur although I do remember thinking Susannah also had too much dry ice last year and that Sophie should have gone for ballroom rather than Latin.

she must be lighter than Caroline- or pixie who are both tall.

Caroline is 5cm shorter than Frankie according to Google.

I watched Zoe and Ian's show dance and then watched their tango - so much simpler than now especially no props or theatricals! I wonder what would happen if all the past finalists competed against each other? Who would we put in a 'hall of fame'?

Oh Jill Halfpenny was fabulous wasn't she? One of the best celebs ever. Her jive was stunning

I hated Denise Van Outen's show dance! Yes it was technically good but it was just lift after lift which bores me, however well it is done.

I prefer the ones with proper dance steps in it - either ballroom or Latin.

Pandora37 You're right, Simon was complaining about the number of lifts that Christina is teaching him to do for the show dance, so maybe she's overdoing it.

Loving it this year Don't think anyone can touch Caroline now though

I think this year is the one I've been least interested in. Simon I think is my choice but I'm not as excited as usual.

Tom's showdance was awesome. Real showbiz. Zoe's was fabulous too (campervan, I LOVED her tango but can't find it anywhere. Where have you found it?)

Most showdances are just lifty and boring, or completely unsuited to the sleb – Kara did beautiful ballroom but got a horrible 80s gymnastic showdance, Kim was also gorgeous and glam in ballroom but did an unmemorable hen-night kind of disco mish-mash, Suzannah's was quite good but about half was taken up by that boring lift/spin ...

Just hope show dances play to their strengths and aren't just the pros chucking in every bonkers lift they've ever learnt

Yes I agree Dotty342 Why don't the contestants say they don't want to do too many daft lifts?
