Lady Sinderby is Atticus's mother, isn't she? Cordelia Flyte is Rose's mother.

I though that too. But that aside, it's just acting, isn't it? They're not real people.

Why is everyone so pro Edith and anti Mary? Neither of them are terribly nice to each other - Edith did leak the news about Mary having the ambassador guy die in her bedroom, after all.... Which was bitchy in the extreme....

But Pamuk had his life force sucked out of him by the strength of Lady Mary's orifice.

Fair enough, and all power to Lady Mary's orifice, but I think people should be warned.

QueenOfThorns · 12/11/2014 19:53

I like Mary, despite her death-dealing orifice! I find Edith very irritating and whiny and I will be very cross if she marries Mr Branston
Pickle.

Hakluyt · 12/11/2014 19:54

Actually could Cordelia Flyte have grown up to marry Lord Severn and at Trent, or whatever his name is? Do the dates work?

QueenOfThorns · 12/11/2014 19:56

Strange line break there!

LadyMary'sDeathDealingOrifice would be a great username, but perhaps it's a bit long...

Hakluyt · 12/11/2014 20:05

no of course it wouldn't work- Susan must have been born in 1880ish. Bother. It was a lovely though.

Fiderer · 13/11/2014 06:55

She was v good as Cordelia. I love the scene where she climbs up onto the roof where Sebastian & Charles are sunbathing.
She's also good at being waspish here as Lady Flintshire.

Mary's dull marriage story - presumably she would set up home somewhere with the unfortunate husband and take George. So if Tom does leave taking Sybbie, Lord 6 won't have anyone to help him run the estate or any of his (acknowledged) grandchildren at DA.

Or the poor sap would not only have to deal with Mary's Orifice of Death but neglect/abandon their own interests to the greater Downton good.
