OK I just guessed the 3 as this is the first series of Downtown I've watched!

Crumple I predicted Anna would swing.

I reckon it was Mrs Hughes.

I think Bates will take the blame too - he's going to hang, and she'll be left all along, possibly pregnant, but with a house in London and therefore independent wealth.

So - Christmas wedding. Violet and the Russian? Mrs Crawley and her lovely beau? Molesley and Baxter? Mary and Tom? All four?

Can't be Anna - last week wasn't she weeping with relief when she realized Mr B wasn't the killer?

It isn't Anna but she'll be charged anyway. Then Bates will try to take the blame.

Then Mosley will propose to Baxter and she will have an attack of the guilts and confess all.

Well, a nice festive hanging will cheer up Christmas Day even more than Matthew's sudden demise.

Will it actually be at Christmas for a change?

Hmm - that's true. JF got a pasting for the Matthew episode, didn't he? Maybe it will turn out to be someone completely unrelated to Downton, both Mr and Mrs Bates will be free, they'll discover she's pregnant, and will live happily ever after.

But the wedding obsessed - who's getting married???

It'll be the Dowager.

But what about the Princess??

I thought it's been on the evening of Christmas Day for at least the last two years, CrumpleHornedSnorkack (and may I say how very satisfying it was to type that out).

I expect the princess will be played by somebody like Julie Christie and will march in to stop the wedding. Or something like that.

If Dowager marries a Prince she will still outrank Isobel

Sir C: Shrimpy will find that she arrived in Hong Kong but died of cholera. Also that she had gazillions of diamonds sewn in her clothes so the Prince will be richer than Lord Merton.
