I liked the bit where Spector explains he didn't kill anyone for a few years as small children take up all your time. Best reason he could have come up with.

Laura - they called him Spector and Sally Ann Spector's wife - I guess Benedetto (esp as we learnt Katie's surname quite late) would've been hard to follow and Katie too informal.

Can anyone remind me re first series... remember when hunky Olsen was shot, and about the next day a policeman committed suicide? This was the copper who'd been having an affair with Olsen's wife, am I right? so within a space of maybe one day, she'd lost both her husband and her lover??? and why exactly did that man kill himself as he would have been free to be with her or was it something to do with corruption?

Blimey, I'd forgotten all that stuff from the first series! The last episode kept jarring with me for various reasons, most of which you've mentioned ... but, please, does anyone else think there's something weird about Gillian Anderson's front teeth? They looked as if they'd been blurred I put it down to pixellation at first, but I could see the line between everyone else's front teeth and hers always looked like one wide tooth!

I don't remember any of the corruption plot, except that there was one. I forgot Olsen even existed, let alone that he was killed. Same for his mate.

i honestly thought they'd pixellated them! i can't see any clear, old photos of GA. and Stella does her slight little smiles.. not big grins...

she's one of those lucky women that improve with age.. longer hair definitely suits her too. She's three years older than me and I'd be happy to look half that good! Is her hair naturally blonde? I thought the red hair of Xfiles days suited her but not as much as her hair is now

I was always told I looked like Gillian Anderson, back in the time of X Files. I wasn't too chuffed with it the (because it was frequently said and she seemed to be a lot older than me back then!!). Certainly wouldn't complain about that comparison now!!!

If there is another series centring on Katie I won't watch it. I found her very unrealistic. 16 year olds may pretend to be poised but they are usually vulnerable underneath. She started out OK in the first series as a love struck teenager writing soppy songs about the man she fancies but then was completely unrealistic in this one.

I found it very unrealistic that neither of Katie's parents seemed to know or care about where she was or what she was doing and weren't present during police questioning for something so very serious.
I wonder whether the next series will include her at all or be something related to the corruption...jimmy a death and vengeance for that would be another option. Would be good to see Stella as a kind of Sarah Lund character. At the end of the day we didn't find too much about her really, she was a smooth, sassy operator, she was quite an obsessive boss, we know little of her past except she was a high ranking officer in the Met and had shagged Beardy ...kept a diary, had a deep relationship with her dad, wore silk,liked young handsome police officers and could be bisexual
..... Still lots to find out!!

A series about Katie wouldn't be interesting would it??
