So who is Rose? Can anyone remember?

Rose was an ex-girlfriend from college days, whom he ended up raping and scaring the shit out of, I think. She will have important information about him he doesn't want revealed.

I may not be 100% on that as series one was so long ago, but that's what I seem to remember.

Was Rose the woman who provided the efit. She recognised some of the details of the attacks released. She'd had a brief relationship with someone had university years ago who'd frightened her, he'd tried to strangle her after sex. She is a friend of the pathologist from the first series.

Rose is the girl friend from years ago who told Gillian Anderson that "Peter" attacked her but she didn't want to give a formal statement because she was with her now husband at the time. She was going to give a statement the next day though. (Presumably the husband was missing from bed because Rose had just told him about the attack)

She ( Rose) was due to give a police statement wasn't she? Didn't she go to uni with him and try to strangle her during sex or was it attempted rape and she reported it? I can't remember but she described the killer to Gillian Anderson in series one which is how they think his name is Peter or Paul.. Seriously creepy stuff in tonight's episode

Rose came in to see Gibson after the police appeal following Sarah Kay's death. She had had a brief relationship - affair, as it turns out - while she was at university with a man calling himself Peter . He assaulted her - strangulation, but not to death. She was shaken, and never saw him again. Never knew much about him. She made the connection and went in.

So did the police release this information to the papers? is that how he knew to come for her? or is he just covering his bases? if they did, you'd think they'd offer her some protection

Do you remember in the interview he had with the police, after he was caught on camera at the botanic gardens. They said there was no record of him in Belfast before x date, and he said he'd been in care homes. I wonder if his name is actually Peter-? and he reinvented himself between the incident with Rose and meeting his wife.

Yes, that's more like it. I'm annoyed that I've forgotten so many details. Basically all I remember is how good Gillian Anderson looked in a blouse.
