i thought it was 'I love Yo 'and hadn't finished the U. (why not? had PS stopped her? or had she passed out?)
so i was right about GA being led somewhere ...(although I did think PS would escape and take her hostage) I did think Rose would be found barely alive... I couldn't have predicted the ending though. Yes she looked like she cared for him as she held him. and not for the man she'd shagged earlier I did think it was a little like the end of Se7en with the taunting murderer (though am i right in thinking that PS had implied to Merlin, that he himself had slept with Stella?)
So much tension with Stella in the forest, hoped we wouldn't see some horrible gruesome spectacle/ display like in Hannibal (which she's also brilliant in)
Yes to their pupils being HUGE ! Especially Jamie Dornan's! Why, what were they on, what had the director given them before the scene?! or are the two actors attracted to each other?!

I thought Spector would spill the beans about Beardy too. Thought the interview scene was gripping, thought it was very interesting, the questioning of both Katie and Olivia, and how they continued to protect Spector.

The final scene was brilliantly tense, but too much of a cut-off-cliffhanger for me - I suppose this means series 3 ?? Which is no bad thing except we'll have to wait another 18mths for it

I thought Rose wrote "I love yo..." on her arm, it could have been "I love To..." - I think it was an unfinished message to her loved ones.

I think she passed out before finishing.

Oh, and Stella had flats on when looking for Rose's car.

Rastamam, what is the name of that forest? It's beautiful. Am hoping to visit a friend in Belfast next year so would love to see some of the places from the series e.g. that forest, the botanical gardens..

I also wondered why Spector wasn't bundled straight back in the car once Rose was found.

Poor Merlin (shockingly hot) I wonder which hurt the most. The bullet or watching Stella cradling Spector

I thought Merlin was going to punch Spector's lights out when he taunted him re Stella. But no... but def planted something in his head

Stella is always impeccably dressed for every occasion isn't she? She's the sort of woman who whips out a pair of flats from her handbag for a trek in the forest...

It was a beautiful forest.

Was ridiculous, Merlin guy looked so vulnerable. All gripping stuff but many holes to be picked in it!

I think Spector being handcuffed to gorgeous Merlin was unrealistic.

And YY to whoever said that as soon as they'd found Rose, Spector would've been bundled back in the police car, not left to watch everything unfold.

yes. he enjoyed watching it all unfold.. just like the Kevin Spacey character, when he knows what Brad Pitt is going to find in the box!

feathertree, nowhere at all did I dismiss the response of DV. In fact, if you read my post earlier I actually wrote that every victim responds differently.
You're obviously getting angrier my the post and I really can't see why so I'm going to just step back and ignore any further posts by you on this.

Great episode, the acting and script was fab! Really interesting.

Where was DC Glen Martin, nowhere to be seen, couldn't he have been handcuffed to the other side of Spector! I am most upset as I developed quite a crush on him . Thought Prof Reed Smith was strangely missing as well, surely if they had a Rose lead she'd be involved, possibly to identify her?

I don't get why they said Katie would be charged but then she was home lounging on her bed? She has that creepy evil look down pat, I was also worried about the blonde friend. She'll go bananas if Paul dies, maybe next series she turns copycat serial killer.

My DH and I laughed out loud when we saw Anderson in her bed, and the look that Eastwood guy gave her when she drive up with him

i wondered about the blonde girl Daisy too, especially as one of Paul's last requests had been to harm Daisy e.g. acid attack. Wonder why she'd still want to be friends with Katie , now that Katie has admitted he IS the serial killer...

My dh reckons beardy was in on it somehow - feeding info to the copper that called the reporter maybe? - which explains his increasing uselessness. He is in cahoots with DV man and didn't want all the corruption stuff to come out.

Was just reading the Guardian review and this is a very interesting view of the final scene in one of the comments below. I kind of get why he was grinning in that way, it was like his enjoyment of the last breath his victims take, but now he's in their place:

"Meanwhile Spector achieved his apotheosis of intense feeling as he slipped over the threshold into death, cradled in Stella's arms. He was right when he said at the conclusion of the interview that their relationship had only just started. He will haunt her for evermore."

It's a pity French and Saunders aren't making their comedies any more. They could do a brilliant spoof of GA simpering and JD frowning.

I suppose it was an almighty policing gaffe, wasn't it - take Spector to crime scene, recover Rose, only to have Spector (and Detective Gorgeous) shot by some (relatively) unrelated violent criminal. No wonder Stella was panicking - she'd got her man finally, she wanted to see him in jail.

Can't believe Anderson would be so dim as to believe Stella had a thing for Spector though - but maybe men do that? Ultimate competitiveness. Spector hinted he'd slept with Stella, didn't he? 'been there, done that' or something? I think I'll have to watch it again.

Spector was talking about living out his fantasies, rather than keep them in his head.

Choc I thought exactly the same about French and Saunders. Jennifer would do a brilliant GA.

Must be something wrong with me as in don't find Spector or Merlin attractive.

Oh, I finally get it now-the reason Katie was lounging around at home was because as a juvenile she can only be detained for a short amount of time but next season she'll take Spectors place and she will become the murderer. First it'll be her blonde friend and then others. GA will be chasing her next and if Spector does survive he'll be rotting in jail taunting her like that creepy pedophile father.
