...in the Archers?

Or is it just my devious mind?

What I want to know is when are Alasdair's dirty doings for Matt going to get found out? Surely he hasn't got away with it?

Frieda · 11/09/2006 16:13

Oooh, what were Alisdair's dirty doings for Matt? (I miss whole swathes of TA when I loose interest in the general storylines) He didn't agree to shoot that perfectly healthy race horse, did he? I can't see Shula ever forgiving him for something like that. Drinking and gambling, yes, but hippicide...

But he did do the blood doping, didn't he? Or did I miss an outbreak of conscience?

Frieda · 11/09/2006 22:52

Oooh, blood doping ? what was that, then? Completely passed me by.

Does than mean there's no chance of the fuzz or the heavy mob (depending on the scriptwriter's whim) arriving on his doorstep? I was so looking forward to SmugShula having to visit him the Borchester nick!

Hallgerda · 12/09/2006 11:53

Frieda, Alastair took some blood from the horse and returned it near to the time of the race. It makes more oxygen available for fast running, I think, and as no added substances are involved it's very hard to detect. There was a stable boy hanging around at the time so the scriptwriters have left themselves a hook on which to hang curlew's suggested scenario (and I can't stand Shula either so I'd love to see it too).

AnelaSunshine · 12/09/2006 14:04

Ooh, only just found this too, and I would like Adam to get mown down or some kind of unfortunate accident with a threshing machine in the maize maze. All he does is MOAN.
Sophie v jealous of your RL/Archers crossovers!

Frieda · 12/09/2006 14:46

Hallgarda - (what a fab name, by the way!) - thanks for clearing that up about the blood doping saga ? I'd completely missed that. Yes, wouldn't it be great if that came out and he got a police caution or something just as he's beginning to get back into Shula's good books. And it would be even greater if word got round the village and Shula had to put up with pointing and whispering, too!

sophiewd · 12/09/2006 14:54

Was I the only one screaming at the radio last night Don't do it when he clumsily made it a private meeting between him and Sophie. I don't usually have a lot of sympathy for ruth but what a horrible situation!

Frieda · 12/09/2006 14:58

Yes - he's being so doltish about the whole thing, isn't he?

And so convenient that Sophie's now divorced and isn't encumbered with any inconvenient offspring. Perhaps it's all an elaborate divine trick and Sophie will suddenly metamorphose back into Janet, complete with dog collar, and condemn Deeevid to endless purgatory for succumbing to temptation in the form of dippy Sophie.

Come on, Archers scriptwriters ? I'm sure you can do better than this!

curlew · 12/09/2006 21:27

Actually, thinking about it, I don't think I could bear Shula's self righteous standing-by -her-man-I-am-a-church-warden-after-all routine. So I hoe the script writers hae conveniently forgotten about Alasdair's little lapse too!

Holidaymum · 29/09/2006 15:09

So is it going to be Ruth or David to cheat first then?

sophiewd · 30/09/2006 15:09

Ruth

PretendFriend · 30/09/2006 16:48

Deevid. Ruth doesn't even realise Sam fancies her

Tommy · 30/09/2006 17:14

I think David will succomb first - midlife crisis, flattered by tthe attention etc etc (boooring!)
Agree that Ruth doesn't realsie about Sam - she is always trying to get him closer to Kirsty isn't she?

hollyhobbie · 30/09/2006 18:40

David first.
Ruth and Sam will (possibly) be Ruth's revenge.

Lio · 01/10/2006 19:22

Thought I should check before starting a thread about Ruth and Sam and hey presto! I like it that the scriptwriters plant a realistic timeframe into their stories (even though you can still see them coming a mile off). I think Ruth will snog Sam but not sleep with him (so no more shower scenes a la Sid/Jolene). Once, in an idle moment, I checked out some of the actors' photos on the website and, for all her annoying-ness, I would have done the same as Emma and swerved away from Will for a lunge towards Ed

Holidaymum · 01/10/2006 19:25

I think it will be the other way round! Think Davids being insensitive and stupid but won't cheat and Ruth will fall for the attention at a low ebb!

maewest · 01/10/2006 20:23

Should have known that MN would be able to provide me with an Archers thread DH hates it and does bad Joe and Clarrie Grundie impressions whenever it comes on. But now I'm on mat leave I can listen at lunchtime whilst bf, hurrah!

Agree that Deevid is being most pathetic and mid-life crisis-ish with Sophie, think the worst bit was at the fashion show 'ooh David, I really like that shirt' etc. Think Sam is being a bit creepy to be honest, but Ruth seems to be enjoying the attention...

emsiewill · 01/10/2006 20:38

Oooh maewest agree completely.

Surely Deevid is not so stupid that he can't see how it all must seem to Ruth?

And Sam is really creepy, I always imagine him talking with his head down, avoiding eye contact.

(am I putting too much thought into this? )

Sams a nasty piece of work! Has been since he arrived, treated that nurse bit Fliss badly, now Kirsty, also think he has stalker like qualities butthey have done that already havn't they?

PretendFriend · 02/10/2006 09:39

David is very very thick though...

bea · 02/10/2006 09:49
