...in the Archers?

Or is it just my devious mind?

OP posts:

Dave and Pip.

ScummyMummy · 23/06/2006 23:19

that's a bit low of him, janh. oliver and clarrie were v worried last time I listened!

JanH · 23/06/2006 23:22

If Ed's disappearance sends Clarrie into Moike's arms, who will Eddie turn to? Oh, Jolene maybe - and then Sid can go back to Kathy - and Kenton's fans can form an orderly queue for his attentions and everybody will be happy

quanglewangle · 23/06/2006 23:31

But Ed hasn't got his passport. I do hope he turns up, I like him.

JanH · 23/06/2006 23:35

Oh he hasn't? (Have not been listening closely!) Bang goes that theory then

suejonez · 23/06/2006 23:41

"Shula is just awful. So sanctimonious. If I was Alistair I'd have drowned her in a horse trough by now" - so true. Never mind gambling she'd have driven me to drink.

I've always though that Ruth & Sam would be the next big story but don't you think they've left it too late now - it was ripening up nicely over the cow milking (during the broken arm period) but I think it's gone off the boil a bit now.

suejonez · 23/06/2006 23:42

On the plus side, Emma seems distinctly less whingey since Ed sugared off.

quanglewangle · 23/06/2006 23:44

I think Emma should go and look for Ed then we would be rid of her too. Think I might dislike her even more than Saint Shula.

JanH · 23/06/2006 23:44

Emma has been completely invisible (inaudible anyway) in the bits I've heard - I'd assumed the actress was having a well-earned break!

quanglewangle · 23/06/2006 23:47

You are right, we only hear references to her at the moment. Long may it last.

cye · 23/06/2006 23:47

i think ruth and sam a distinct possibility... the way she didn't respond to his comment about her necklace at the party was telling, i think. also ruth not had good storyline since breast cancer and they need to do something more interesting with sam. i haven't listened for ages but just that one episode made me think something was afoot. if something is in a script, it's there for a reason... (so the writers say anyway!).
does that mean none of the archer children have good marriages now? and them such fine upstanding folk...shame.

suejonez · 24/06/2006 00:01

Hang on - I missed the line about the necklace - obviously not paying attention. What was that then?

cye · 24/06/2006 09:25

sam said 'i like your outfit' or some such and ruth said something polite about david chosing it, as you do, and then he said something nice about her necklace...but oddly (i thought) ruth didn't say 'oh it was a pressie from my mum' or whatever... just a bit of an awkward silence.

MrsJohnCusack · 24/06/2006 09:30

hey!
we should have a Radio topic OR make this Telly & Radio addicts because I listen to the radio MUCH more than I watch TV (easier to listen and mumsnet for a start...)

JanH · 24/06/2006 13:26

I've just visited the BBC Archers message boards - haven't been for ages, first I lost my login and then they changed the format and I don't like it - I had forgotten just how intelligent and funny some of the threads can be (it was an IanandMadsmakeababy thread that was making me lol!)

I'll link to it in a sec.

fairydust · 24/06/2006 13:30

what station is the archers on and what time?

JanH · 24/06/2006 13:31

This one - in fact it turns into a Samandruthandcows thread after a while - I particularly love message 18

JanH · 24/06/2006 13:34

Radio 4, fairydust - 7pm Sun-Fri, repeated 2pm Mon-Fri, (no repeat of Friday evening's), omnibus edition 10am Sunday.

You can listen again any time here

winnie · 24/06/2006 13:55

aaawwwww ~ I've thought Sam and Ruth will have an affair for ages too

Xavielli · 24/06/2006 17:35

Oh my word! That freaked me out abit!

My name is Ruth, and my brother is Sam!

EWWWWWWWWWWW!

suejonez · 26/06/2006 10:36

I missed the omnibus on Sunday and haven't had a chance to listen onlne - anything ineresting happen. Heard Sunday evenings edition so I gather Ian and Adam haven't sorted out the baby thing.

treacletart · 26/06/2006 11:08

I dont listen much anymore - but I get kept up to date with a useful daily(ish) email from the BBC with a synopsis. I too think somethings afoot between Ruth and Sam.....

puddle · 26/06/2006 11:12

There's definitely an affair storyline simmering away on the Archers aga. I've thought this for ages.

suejonez · 26/06/2006 11:59

How do you get the synopsis delivered - via BBC website I guess?

Fauve · 26/06/2006 12:09

at Ruth and Sam theory - that has completely passed me by. I can't stand Ruth and David slobbering over each other anyway.

I'm convinced, however, that Ed is lying murdered - by an unknown hand - in a ditch somewhere. Unless of course they just need to change the actor, in which case it's so we don't notice the voice change I suppose. I thought it would be quite a good storyline for Will to have done him in - are you sure he wasn't lying to the police?
