...in the Archers?

Or is it just my devious mind?

OP posts:

Just had to post and say that I'm SO SICK of Ruth's new breathy voice - obviously used to show just how passionate and undecided she is. Speak properly!

Fauve · 03/11/2006 21:45

Since MN will be down at 10am on Sunday, that gives everyone a chance to catch up with the Archers.

Lio · 03/11/2006 21:49

dh and I LOL at the bit about Brian being 'father of the bride'. My life is empty enough that I am already excited about next Tuesday

We're going for the one night of passion, moment of realisation, all back to hunky dory with David until positive pregnancy test on New Year's Eve (would that work with dates?) and the big who's the father dilemma

satine · 07/11/2006 10:31

Oooh, that's a great storyline, Hannah!!

Hallgerda · 07/11/2006 11:03

My prediction:

Ruth goes to Oxford after a few minor hitches (suspicious Jill asks some awkward questions, teenage tantrum from Pip, Ben grazes his knee etc), and Sam says something in the course of the romantic candlelit meal that puts Ruth right off the idea, then she drives back and confesses all to David.

"Can you ever forgive me?"

Dum-de-dum-de-dum-de-dum...

joelallie · 07/11/2006 15:36

Oh goodie. Another thread......

I'm so enjoying the Archers atm. Almost feels like a pantomime - cue angry hissing whenever Sam appears... Ruth sounds very determined to get her dirty night of passion. Good excuse though - my DH fancied another woman but then forswore her forever so I am justified in shagging the cowman and wrecking everyone's lives....not! Handy arguement that one

joelallie · 07/11/2006 15:42

And to answer the OP...yes I did...I've known it for ever and have been waiting with bated breath.....but not quite as bated as I wish Sam and 'Roof's' breath was!!! I have heard enough heaving breathing on R4 to last me a while....

CountessDracula · 07/11/2006 15:43

I wish they would get on with it

joelallie · 07/11/2006 16:52

Have just realised that ds#1's parents evening is at 6.40 and DD's is at 7 - they are bound to run late!!!! Arggghhhhhh!!! What to do? Perhaps I'll send DH on his own......

JanH · 07/11/2006 16:53

God, if they do get on with it pleeeeeeease don't make us listen to them getting on with it [gag]

The mum of one of my mindees is Archers fan (and good friend)and we were talking about whether Ruth and Sam were at THAT VERY MOMENT doing the do in Oxford as she picked little one up.

The Mum of other mindee came up to us as we were discussing this while putting little one in car and gave us a very strange look!!!

(Also....Do you think the Archers can hear me when I give my advice very loudly to the radio?)

Why do I try to eat my tea while listening and get indigestion from the tension.....so many questions!!

FromGirders · 07/11/2006 19:16

Well thank heavens for that!

But now what?

joelallie · 07/11/2006 19:18

Who knows. Sulks and regrets? Or relief and overflowing love for the whole family etc. And what will happen to the cowman??? Is he going to turn poisonous??

FromGirders · 07/11/2006 19:20

I think if he leaves he'd have a good case for harassment or constructive dismissal.

BoingBoing · 07/11/2006 19:25

She's still a stupid bint. But I can't decide if this is now going to smoulder until the night of the panto when David is up there being a dwarf, leaving Roof to get up to no good in the green room, or if Sam is now going to turn into whatever the male equivalent of a bunny boiler is.
I vote plan B - much more fun in the shed with the pair of them when t't AI man comes to visit.
But one thing's for sure, it ain't over yet as we still need Jill and her fourpenneth. And I was dying to hear Lizzie's reaction to the forced sale of the farm.....

Frieda · 07/11/2006 19:35

She's going to have to 'fess up to Dave. Unless she meets with some terrible accident on the way home...

BoingBoing · 07/11/2006 19:37

I was half expecting him to pull a knife, in the car in the dark car park......

pineneedle · 07/11/2006 19:37

Was that it?
15 000 episodes to get the hang of it and they can't come up with something a bit more exciting than that??? Shame on them.

bea · 07/11/2006 19:39

oh thank the lord that teh silly bint has come to realise that it will not happen... hopefully she'll come to realise that sam is a psyco weirdo very soon too... you just knew that she wouldn't go through with it... but then again all that happy families with david and the kids just made it more tragic if she did go through with it... for one moment i thought sam might turn real psuco and kill roof when she turned him down... you know crime of passion etc!!!!

now the question is will she come clean to david?????
