Get in here Stairs :o

OP posts:
Gracelo · 26/04/2013 08:40

Maybe he realized that professional cooking isn't what he wants to do after all or maybe sweet stuff really isn't his thing. He said something about that, didn't he? That he couldn't really think of a dessert to make in the Marcus Waring bit.

My ANZAC biscuits I whipped up in about 10 min yesterday were nicer than either of his puddings [smug]

LittleAbruzzenBear · 26/04/2013 08:50

Gracelo feel free to send some biscuits in the post for trial purposes. Smile. Patisserie/pastry is dreaded by many on MC, I think either you're good at that sort of thing or not. I don't think it's particularly any of the contestant's forte on this series.

Gracelo · 26/04/2013 09:19

I think they are all gone Abruzzen Smile
Yes, not a lot of pastry skill in this series. Greg doesn't really get that many good desserts this time.

I'm looking forward to tonight. Kate Spicer is back amongst the food critics. I missed her.

LaVolcan · 26/04/2013 09:19

It seemed that Dale's complete melt down went in his favour - it showed he had passion. I would say he redeemed himself in the next round. I bet his mates are ribbing him about his tears though.

Larkin OTOH just shrugged - not a good response. Next round - dodgy pastry. Hmm. Why did he choose to make pastry? Of course, they may be given a brief that we don't know about and might have been told that he had to make a pastry dish.

GirlOutNumbered · 26/04/2013 11:27

Larkin seemed so not bothered and all the effort the others went to and then he made a lemon tart!
He even made out like he was stressed, he made two tarts!

And why did the Bond lady eat the rose!? Can you do that!?

GirlOutNumbered · 26/04/2013 11:27

Sorry, exclamation mark overload.

LaVolcan · 26/04/2013 12:53

Don't know about roses, but you can eat nasturtiums, I say helpfully. The tart wasn't really Savoy/Masterchef standard was it? My local cafe produces the same for £4.99 which is fine.

Gracelo · 26/04/2013 12:58

Roses are edible but you don't usually stuff a whole rose into your mouth. I don't think this one was meant to be eaten. I bet the Bond girl, can't remember her name felt quite foolish after she did it.

Snog · 26/04/2013 13:01

I thought it was the most hilarious masterchef episode ever.
John was so embarrassed because of Larkin's inconsistency. and then Marcus pronounced Larkin's main "appalling in every way" and refused to even try the pud.
I love Larkin, he has a sense of hunour when things don't go well.
Hope he has a return to form tonight.
Natalie though is my real fave.

slug · 26/04/2013 13:24

Humph. I spend the second half of the episode shouting at the TV screen. They are all mature women not a bunch of girls dammit!!!

YoniConnect · 26/04/2013 16:37

I'm rooting for Natalie the cockney sparrer now that Larkin seems to have burned his bridges.

I would like to see Saira do something other than indian / asian flavoured food for once - the only time she has deviated was the mounded tuile affair with the crunchy plums, which wasn't exactly a triumph.

Oh, and Dale - smile a bit mate!

BedHanger · 26/04/2013 17:09

I reckon rose-eating Bond girl thought they were made out of icing or something, then was too embarrassed to admit she was wrong after she stuffed the whole thing in at once :o.

GirlOutNumbered · 26/04/2013 17:41

I would also like to see Saira do something different. She seems like a one trick pony. I would also like to see Larkin do a pudding!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 26/04/2013 17:59

I wondered what that Bond girl was doing stuffing the rose in her mouth so quickly, but they were all a tad sozzled erm, perhaps she got distracted.

Tonight's will be vair interesting.

StuffezLaYoni · 26/04/2013 19:54

Anyone want to take advance bets on who goes tonight? I bet a pack of haribo it's Saira.

LaVolcan · 26/04/2013 20:08

Tricky - the only thing I would hazard a guess on is not Natalie.

Cremolafoam · 26/04/2013 20:20

And tonight Saira will be giving us a curry but not in snag or a bowl
Natlee ( apples and pears lovely jubbly)
Larkin air and foam served in the deep fried basket of his own lunacy
And The other one will fuck up some pastry
Grin
Can't wait

LaVolcan · 26/04/2013 20:26

GrinGrin Only 5 minutes to go!

LittleAbruzzenBear · 26/04/2013 20:28

I can't wait too! It's also on for an hour rather than a rushed half of one.

I still want 'apples and pears' Natalie to win, followed by Dale. I do like Saira and Larkin though.

StuffezLaYoni · 26/04/2013 20:29

Woop woop! Here we go!

StuffezLaYoni · 26/04/2013 20:31

Well dale has pissed me off already with his stupid equation comment.
God how many are they cooking for?

Cremolafoam · 26/04/2013 20:32

There is gonna be massive droppageGrin

beanandspud · 26/04/2013 20:33
