Miller is Ellie's surname. So there's a Joe, Tom and Fred (the baby), but I'm not sure we've had any other references to an Alistair.

Could the early hours texts from "mum" on Tom's phone be mislabelled as part of some skulduggery connected to diesel theft/animal hunting/drugs? Or... could Joe have been using his wife Ellie's phone ? Shock

Joe's face was a picture when Tom took the skateboard home-but all the actors were kept in the dark too with regards to the killer so its not a clue!

God it's gripping - despite some very improbable bits! I think it's Joe Miller, personally; they've been painting him in an increasingly sinister light over the past few episodes.

And btw, I read an interview with the actress who plays Ellie's sister (Ollie's mum), and she says there's more to come from her and that it's central to the big reveal.

I've stayed on holiday in an apartment in the big bock on the harbour that you see in lots of shots - you could see those magnificent cliffs from the kitchen window. It's West Bay near Bridport, and I bet it gets a surge in Tourism now!

Sorry if this has been said but if it were Tom - then why would he be so delighted at bringing home the skateboard? If he were something to do with it then he'd chuck the skateboard in the sea after PQ gave it to him?

I agree about the Nige/joe mix up - I said to dh in the beginning that I was cross because all the characters looked the same and I was getting them mixed up!

I've got it!

Joe discovered something about Danny (perhaps Danny was blackmailing him over something murky? An abuse allegation or something?) and went to meet him after finding out that Danny was hinting at this secret to Tom. He arranged a meeting (perhaps as Tom , or maybe Tom was meant to show up but overslept?). Having it out with Danny, he tried to summon Tom from his bed by text from his wife's phone, and Danny tried too (hence the texts from 'mum' and Danny). Something went wrong, Danny got too lippy, and Joe killed him. He cleans the body, takes it out to sea to dump, but then realises he is a known user of the boat from the paint balling trip, so comes back to shore and arranges it to look like a fall.

Tom knows his dad is well-dodgy and is trying to protect him, and keep the secret of the alleged abuse. Which is also why he had the idea of accusing the vicar of abuse if he surrendered his laptop: he knows that adults will go to any lengths to avoid that stigma.

It was this apartment - it's gone up a bit in price since we stayed there six or so years ago. Lovely though.
