I think it's Tom who killed him and his dad covering for him (disposing of the body). PQ is convinced it's Nige she saw on the beach due to her holding a grudge against him for being his 'fathers son'.
Not sure why Tom would kill him,maybe due to Nige playing favourites with them?

My money is on Ellie's husband or Tom. And I agree that PQ thought she saw nige from a distance but I think it was joe.

I agree they are foreshadowing it being Tom, with Baldy Dad Miller being in the boat rather than Nige. All that stuff with Porline Quirke and Olivia Colman - with Colman saying "How could you not know?" GRAAARGH.

I thought they had just returned from holiday? Maybe Danny and Tom exchanging emails while Tom is on holiday- then a fight on his return?
Maybe Nige is a complete red herring though and he genuinely just hangs round with the boys in an innocent way? He does seem quite young mentally.

I thought the Millars hadn't been away. Ellie said to Mark in the first few minutes of first ep that it was her first day back after Maternity leave. Mind you, I don't trust myself to remember it rightGrin

They were back before Danny was killed. Ellie emailed Ollie asking him to a BBQ before the school sport day and the day they discovered the body was Ellie's first day back in work. The boys fell out before the holiday.

I was one of the ones who said Nige was pqs son. been thinking its ellies husband for a while but like the bit above suggesting its the son and dad covering up . . .

Dt suspects things doesn't he with mentioning to ellie about sons computer.

I really like how everyone has had secrets and not always been what they've seemed. I found pq and dt storyline sad. Can't wait until next week.

i know this has probably already been discussed, but i'm having trouble placing the time of year this is set. sports days are usually july?, how much time has passed since danny died? when DT and the vicar were talking outside the church about the laptop, you could see their breath, meaning it was cold.

And what about Will Mellor? Something dodgy about him. I reckon he's the Sandbrook killer hence knowing about the pendant and he's a telephone engineer so was eavesdropping on calls so can pretend to know stuff.
