Ah, yes now that is him. He would make a gorgeous stablehand/gardener for us ladies on a Sunday evening.

KennethParcell · 18/10/2012 18:10

yeh he's lovely, is he still a bit unpredictable though?! would you hire him?

Davros · 18/10/2012 18:22

And it would be another Irish one. He could be pickle's brother, hmmmm. I don't think J R-M us a great actor but who cares?

SecondhandRose · 18/10/2012 18:26

Ken, we are just fantasising at tea time!

BadgersGhostlyRetreatWoo · 18/10/2012 19:21

the new footman Jimmy is quite tasty, but i like them dark so doesn't do that much for me unlike Thomas

yyy to a bit of rustling in the bushes....

Davros · 18/10/2012 20:05

Am I the only one who thinks that the new footman is quite similar to the one Fausy married on his deathbed? Although he was more ventriloquist dummy like

Davros · 18/10/2012 20:06

Daisy ffs, stoopid phone again

Fiderer · 18/10/2012 20:07

"Fausy"? Daisy? They both have that chunky square head thing but New Footman is much more a pretty boy than the deaded one.

Vagaceratops · 18/10/2012 20:47

Nope Davros - I mentioned up thread I keep thinking its him back from the dead.

HoratiaWinwood · 18/10/2012 21:52

Alfred looks like William, you mean? It is years since him though and she didn't fancy him in the first place.

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2012 10:50

Alfred has more sex appeal in his little finger than William had altogether IMHO no wonder everyone fancies him Grin

squoosh · 19/10/2012 15:12

On the Guardian website it says Fellowes has hinted that his thoughts are already turning to a Downton Abbey prequel about the courtship of Lord and Lady Grantham.

There are other possible spoilers but I won't mention them.

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2012 15:32

OOH goody sqoosh Smile

SugariceAndScary · 19/10/2012 15:53

Off tangent a little but I watched Gosford Park today.

Such a good film and much more realistic than DA.

I would so love Clive Owen at Downton. Grin

HoratiaWinwood · 19/10/2012 16:02

Oh yy about Gosford Park. Lots the same - I liked the bit about using the employer's name for a visiting maid/valet, also the marmalade.

Squeeee about the prequel, although that does suggest JF is running out of steam for DA proper.

NerdAmigo · 19/10/2012 16:46

I need the other spoilers.

KennethParcell · 19/10/2012 17:12

hmmmm, i hope JF stays focused on Downton Abbey and not Knots Abbey

diddl · 19/10/2012 17:31

Well if he´d really thought about it-why not do that first?

Would it really be of interest now?

KennethParcell · 19/10/2012 17:42

yeah cos there'd be no will they won't they....

squoosh · 19/10/2012 17:46

I think DA has turned into such a financial golden goose that they'll be reluctant not to draw it out for another couple of years in some form or another, and if JF is running out of ideas for the current set up it will make things much easier for him if they can do a new series and set it in the late Victorian era with a whole heap of new characters.

HoratiaWinwood · 19/10/2012 17:52

New actors cheaper too. Interesting to see how they cast younger versions of characters we already know.

KennethParcell · 19/10/2012 17:56

but they HAVE commissioned series four and five so those will happen I guess.
