Here!

OP posts:
HoratiaWinwood · 18/10/2012 12:25

I think Matthew's hair looks too C21. All the main men, actually. Matthew's is a peculiar colour and the others aren't "set" enough.

Thomas's is spot on IMHO as was Sir Richard Baddie.

Weird, when they obviously take such care over the women's wigs.

UltraBOF · 18/10/2012 12:32

Matthew's face is starting to resemble a choux bun.

HoratiaWinwood · 18/10/2012 12:34

Frankly, just the words Richard and Armitage on the same page risk knicker damage.

Have had a nice visit to Amazon ordering Sylvester on CD. Thanks a squillion for the tip.

JF, if you're lurking, seriously: DA needs totty.

squoosh · 18/10/2012 12:36

They need totty so so bad. I know some people fancy Matthew (!) and I know some people fancy Bates (!) but aside from my affection for dasterdly Thomas my loins are uninflamed. This will not do. My loins demand flaming.

JennaLemon · 18/10/2012 12:37

North and South Dvd only £4.25 now I might slip him in to my basket. ho ho ho

JennaLemon · 18/10/2012 12:39

I used to fancy Matthew, but he looks like at least two other actors I can't name. Yeah Thomas you could certainly fancy if he ever showed any small redeeming feature. Matthew looks like he's got blonder, or thinner, or ? what is it? He needs a good tonic.

JennaLemon · 18/10/2012 12:40

Bates! fgs, sure me own fella is better lookin' than bates!

UltraBOF · 18/10/2012 12:42

He definitely hasn't got thinner. He has just got pasty-looking, and it looks like his facial features are disappearing into some kind of vortex based around his nose.

squoosh · 18/10/2012 12:43

I love Richard A in North and South, he's so moody and brooding. The only time I ever find moodiness and broodiness acceptable in a man is when he's fictional. Plus if I remember correctly he lives with his Mum.

Nothing sexier that a mooody git who lives with his Mother. Grin

Matthew looks like he really is turning into a chinless Lord in waiting.

Man up for Goodness sake, start working the land like a proper man of the people, that'll rile Lady Mary.

squoosh · 18/10/2012 13:03

Matthew is a porridgey/choux bun hybrid.

I wondered about his job too, has it even been mentioned? I loved how his devotion to his Mum meant he was able to commute home from the Western Front every weekend.

:: surveys the scene::

Frequent mentions of Mr Armitage and various MNers encouraged to spend the child benefit on Georgette Heyer audio books and the North and South DVD. Yup. Looks like JustSpidero's and Leonie's work here is done.

ZZZenAgain · 18/10/2012 14:13

not sure what happened to Matthew's job but maybe he quit when he married Mary because she would rather be married to a gentleman than someone who earned his living. (Mind you she was willing to marry that rakish newspaper guy but that was perhaps desperation)

go on now, shoot me down for this, but RA's nose bothers me. He does have a nice firm chin though. I can see him and THomas as a pair, both so sultry and dark but Edith or Cora are the ones who need male consolation atm - or perhaps Anna deserves it most of all.

squoosh · 18/10/2012 14:15

I know what you mean, RA's nose is a tad beakish.

diddl · 18/10/2012 14:27

I don´t think that Matthew has worked since being back from the war?

mateysmum · 18/10/2012 14:28

I used to think Matthew was quietly sexy, but he's turning into a boring old fart. Let's hope his new plans to improve the management of the estate cheers him up otherwise Lady Mary will get fed up and with any luck will go off and be a 1920's bright young thing in London, where she will take up with a bit of northern rough made good, played by the luvverly Mr Armitage swoons

mateysmum · 18/10/2012 14:31

Link for Horatia

Mr A

JustSpidero · 18/10/2012 14:33

or perhaps Anna deserves it most of all

Now that would be interesting as not only was 'Bates' in N & S with RA, but the actress that plays Anna worked with RA in Robin Hood.

Personally I'd love to see him come along and sweep Edith off her feet - Lord knows she deserves it.

And you know what the say about men with big noses...Wink

SecondhandRose · 18/10/2012 17:40

I think they should introduce a sexy gardener in the style of 'Mellors'. I can see it now, lots of sighing and rustling in the bushes. Perfect. Now, could I recommend someone like Max Beesley for the role?

squoosh · 18/10/2012 17:43

Max Beesley is VILE!!!!!!!!!!!

No, no, no what they need as I suggested before is Alexander Skarsgard as a stripped to the waist stablehand, sweat glistening on his torso, wickedness glinting in his eye.

squoosh · 18/10/2012 17:44

sighing and rustling in the bushes

That's either a Peeping Tom or Bill Oddie.

SecondhandRose · 18/10/2012 17:46

Oh poor Max, I think he is a lovely bit of rough!

SecondhandRose · 18/10/2012 17:50

Who played Henry 8th in The Tudors, he is rather gorgeous.
