Ian's hat is still superglued to his head
all children under eight are strangely mute or seem to disappear (where's Oscar these days?)
people go clubbing during the day

please add your own bizarre happenings?

the vic has a washing machine but then the vic is the tardis Grin

AllPastYears · 04/09/2012 20:34

Money to sit in the cafe for lunch and the pub in the evening - how? Confused

When someone gets married, the whole square is invited, even people that hate their guts. However, the darling daughter/sister/nephew that moved out of the square last year doesn't return for the wedding.

They don't watch much telly, do they? Or do they now, haven't seen it for years!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/09/2012 20:38

They will walk through their own kitchen, past their own kettle to buy a cup of stewed tea at Ian's cafe.

They all live on the square or the streets surrounding.

They all pick husbands/wives already in their locality. Mel (married to Steve, had a Christmas Day fling with Phil) met some bloke (Nathan IIRC) who turned out to be Barry's half brother.
Why did Roy leave his rather nice house (he had his own group of car sales garages) to live with Pat in Albert Sq?

And when Pat got Andys house ,it's the only one with a garage > (Green garage door). That would be hauled down to turn into a double storey extension.

And the elastic walls- at one point : Big Mo, Charlie, Lynne & Gary, Kat, Zoe lived there. Trevor and Little Mo visted.
Where do they all sleep?

Why does Shurl never change her earrings?

There was no waiting list at the Walford nursery.

No-one (except Bradley) seemed to commute outside of Walford (when he worked in a bank) .
And 99% of the residents are self employed.

how old is denny? are him and oscar the same age? If so I am worried about oscar development, he seems quite a bit younger and still not a word out of him. If Denny is older and it isn't his first day, why is Sharon so manic?

OP posts:
qazxc · 05/09/2012 08:21

also what primary is still in full swing in the late afternoon/evening. Sharon said club was opening at 5, then left to collect son and didn't come back til club was full of customers. Confused
Ian cannot find a reference number on an invoice but is well enough to look after Sharon's sick child. Still in school uniform at night (well presumably if she was back in club).
Phil mitchell has a bionic punch.

Mrsjay · 05/09/2012 09:17

we were worried about oscars development too Grin he cant be ready for school ?

denny will be 5/6 sharon is just manic anyway about him , If they did come from america like i thought he won't have started school anyway ,

MrsBucketxx · 05/09/2012 09:34

every wedding ever always has the reception at the vic and then thered some sort if punch up.

with that record they would never get any bookings.

greencolorpack · 05/09/2012 09:37

Whenever parents are on television and their small children aren't with them I get really anxious and annoyed and shout at the telly, Where are your children??? I hate it when you see both parents without kids and no mention of where they are and who is with them.

YouShouldBeDancing · 05/09/2012 09:55

Kamil is always asleep during the day
How does Tanya's house always looks so amazing when she has a husband, two teenagers and a toddler and how does she look so amazing all the time.....I need her secret....perhaps trace is the squares cleaner too!

VonHerrBurton · 05/09/2012 12:04

I think Oscar is supposed to be YR and Denny Y1. I think we will see one of those miraculous actor swaps soon and a new Oscar will appear.

The way Tarrrrnya is acting around Sharon just wouldn't happen, would it? It's just not what her personality would do, the rediculous competitive parenting thing, plus you would think S would have more to worry about like, er, finding a home for herself?

confuddledDOTcom · 05/09/2012 12:40

This thread is really funny. I can't add any more than the ones that have been already said. I've been working on a family tree of the Square, I started it last year but the online tree makers don't handle the amount of crossovers required so I'm trying to get a better programme to use.

Brian Kirkwood told me (Grin) that they're not allowed (because of it being BBC I think) to have chain shops which is why you never see or hear of them going to Tesco or Nando. I don't get why anyone in the Square would drive to any part of the Square as you can walk to any part of it within about 5 minutes - including the police station.

(Have to say I thought he was a lot nicer IRL than he was when he was posting on here Sad)

VonHerrBurton · 05/09/2012 13:04

The only time anyone drives anywhere on the square somebody is either mortally wounded, or leaving for good. Having said all this, I do love the show!

AmandinePoulain · 05/09/2012 17:00

Everyone knows everyone else's mobile number, even their mortal enemies!

And I'm sure that Oscar isn't old enough for school, dd1 has just started reception and I'm sure that Oscar is much younger than her. And Janine announced her pregnancy before I was pregnant with dd2, she was a lot further along than the 29 weeks she was meant to be...plus the baby is HUGE now, no way is she an ex prem!

Whenever anyone is in hospital, even in ITU, there are never any nurses around, anyone remember Roy dying and no one noticing?!

Mrsjay · 05/09/2012 17:04

I noticed that amandine I hate your guts but ive your number in my phone Hmm although Jannine had FAT PAT next to the number for pat it made me Grin

confuddledDOTcom · 05/09/2012 18:13

Didn't Janine go for her abortion (or try to) around Valentines Day? Just counted it up, that's about right I think.

Premature babies are always too big, carry on being too big and never have the issues that premature babies have - mine haven't been too bad but there's still problems we deal with, my second is so skinny that she had the same size bridesmaids dress as my then 12 month old, just longer.

Oscar's birthday is 13 December 2007. Denny's birthday is 4 July 2006 which is a few days different to my eldest so he should be Y2, which is odd for how Sharon behaved at the gate.

threesocksmorgan · 05/09/2012 18:16

do you think that might be because they can't actually use a prem baby in the show?

Mrsjay · 05/09/2012 18:18

scarlett looks about 6 months my dd was not as prem as her and she was skinny for ages, they can use those dolls though or a newborn ,

GreenEyesAndHam · 05/09/2012 18:29

All the nasty old racists end up becoming best buddies with Patrick Hmm

MyNeighbourIsStrange · 05/09/2012 18:31

Well I know a child actor on there, not personally, who is older in rl than the child they play.

confuddledDOTcom · 05/09/2012 18:41

They could have younger babies/ children playing the ex-prems.

Another thing that annoys me, is how treatment is contradictory(?) like with Amy, she was on a ventilator for three weeks and went home the next day and was apparantly smiling???

Snog · 05/09/2012 18:56

Aren't most child actors older in RL than the parts they play?

MyNeighbourIsStrange · 05/09/2012 19:10

Tommy is 2 in rl and not 2 till NY in the Show.

YesThisTime · 05/09/2012 19:46

Oh and nobody uses Facebook. It's all about MatesGate in Walford. Oh yeah, I've heard of that...

qazxc · 05/09/2012 20:42

sharon, overprotective freaking out a schoolgates but "forgot" her child when running out on her wedding. has him in pubs (the one his grandad was murdered in, by the daughter of the landlady). leaves him with randoms that she has either just met (max) or that have clearly mental health issues and too much on their plate (ian). Hmm

OP posts:
qazxc · 05/09/2012 20:45

they regularly rob off each other and it seems to quite acceptable, the police rarely get involved.
They borrow money and kick up a fuss if they have to pay it back.
I know that janine is meant to be a baddie but she constantly lending out money and getting stuff nicked and then getting shouted at.
