Anyone watching the first episode of the second series tonight?

I love this programme. It's fascinating,if often heartbreaking. You see the best and the worst of people.

I hope the nurse is still in it.I can't remember her name, but she's fantastic, and was the main nurse featured in the first series.

Kevin fell 8 foot from scaffolding and landed on his head. Suffered multiple injuries including fractured vertebrae, and brain damage.

Roll on next week

WithACherryOnTop · 16/05/2012 22:02

Sarah was ok in the end. She lost 4 days, couldn't remember what happened at all,but she's fine.

And Kevin had a happy ending too.

Did they say anything else about Kevin? I saw him with his daughter when she played him Wishing on a Star.

GetDressed · 16/05/2012 22:03

That programme was just too emotional. I was so glad Kevin was okay. His daughter was just so lovely. I love this programme.

Moln · 16/05/2012 22:03

oh my life really?!

Wow!

Petal both Kevin and Sarah were show speaking about the fact they had pulled through

amazing about Kevin

ninjanurse · 16/05/2012 22:03

Was blubbing at the little girl playing the song to her dad, so glad he pulled through, he looked so ill.

Loved Bill and his cousin, I know what that nurse means when she says she has favourite patients of the week.

petalpower · 16/05/2012 22:04

Sorry, cross posts. Thank you. I don't like not knowing what happened!

WithACherryOnTop · 16/05/2012 22:04

He survived and went home.It showed him at the end talking about how lucky he is to be alive.

Wow - Kevin speaking! The last bit I saw he just looked terrible. Completely unresponsive.

petalpower · 16/05/2012 22:07

Will have to watch the last few minutes on C4 catch up.

WithACherryOnTop · 16/05/2012 22:09

I know. I didn't expect that either, because he looked so awful when it showed him in ICU,so it was a wonderful surprise.

That said I'm sure he's still recovering, but what a difference.

I can't wait for next week's episode.I hope we get to see Sister Jen at least once, though I do like the 'new' nurse too.

Watching on +1 but needed to know what happened, thank goodness they are ok. Amazing what help can be at hand, the staff are amazing

petalpower · 16/05/2012 22:35

Just watched the end of the programme on 4oD - amazing!

MissMogwi · 16/05/2012 22:37

I also had to see what happened while I'm watching it.

Aw, Christopher is lovely. Does anyone come to see him? I'm worrying about him all lonely.

WithACherryOnTop · 16/05/2012 22:42

He called his parents. They live n the Isle of Wight, but he was able to talk to them. I don't know if they had time to visit, but I think his stay in hospital was brief.

OP posts:
MissMogwi · 16/05/2012 22:49

That's ok then. Grin

Greedypiggy · 16/05/2012 22:56

The Hungarian girl is not a nurse. She is a doctor.

WithACherryOnTop · 16/05/2012 23:00

Blush You're right. I had it in my head she was a nurse because there's no Sister Jen,so I was convinced she was her 'replacement'.

I really did LOL at the two old blokes swearing about his fucking hat.
Kings, and all hospitals really are remarkable places.
I honestly thought that they cyclist woman had died. So pleased she recovered.
I smiled at Christopher telling the doctor the route he took to work. Glad they are all well.

MissMogwi · 17/05/2012 09:57

I loved Christopher's comment about being 'normal'. So very true.

I had a little cry for the old blokes talking about their wives. It's a brilliant programme, it shows life at it's best and worst.

Methe · 17/05/2012 10:04

LOVED Christopher, I could chat to him for hours! I Grin when he told his Mum she could probably write to him in resus.

I was amazed Kevin survived. When they showed his daughter playing him the music he looked completely brain dead. He must be amazing, not many people could fall on their head from 8ft and live to tell the tale Shock

FrillyMilly · 17/05/2012 15:12

Oh that made me cry! Medical staff are so amazing aren't they. I really didn't think Sarah and Kevin where going to make it. It was heartbreaking when his daughter was playing that song.

Wasn't he in a medical induced coma when they were visiting him though? I thought that was why he looked so terrible.
