Anyone watching or am I all alone?

Was posting on the other thread but wondered if people might have been put off by the title thinking it was only for speculation.

I doubted Saul a few episodes back but as soon as Carrie was in the explosion, I didn't anymore.

I think you might be right about Carrie & Brody perma, but I can't see her rejoining the CIA, which pisses me off, as if it hadn't been for the explosion, none of her bi-polar would have come to light to them.

Was no-one else pissed off at the lack of anyone noticing the fecking great big bomb under his shirt? Or that nobody slapped him on the back? Only his daughter, who did a sterling job btw, got close to touching him with it on.

difficultpickle · 07/05/2012 21:09

It's scheduled for end Sept in the US so I'd expect it to show here five or six months later.

OP posts:
difficultpickle · 07/05/2012 21:11

There was no one there that knew him well enough to get close to him, slap him on the back etc. The vest wasn't that thick.

OP posts:
Flubba · 07/05/2012 21:12

But what about when the security guys were hustling him through after the sniper shots, or when he was being lead down the corridor to the holding room?

difficultpickle · 07/05/2012 21:17

Maybe they just assumed he was wearing a bullet proof vest? I imagine the VP was.

Five or six months????

Flubba · 07/05/2012 21:43

Okay, I'll give you that bisjo :)

changeforthebetter that'll be Oct/Nov which means we get the summer off! :) It's not good to have to stay home on a summer's night to watch telly ;)

dogindisguise · 07/05/2012 21:47

I was almost hoping Brody would succeed in his mission just so Carrie would be proved right.
How come no-one said that maybe she was right but he changed his mind for some reason?

diddl · 07/05/2012 21:51

Because no one else suspects him & thinks it was all about Walker?

Why would they think that he changed his mind when there was never any indication that he was involved?

garlicbutty · 07/05/2012 23:45

I really, really don't want Carrie & Brody to get it on. Brody's weird and I've got a startling girl crush on his wife!

I kind of hoped he'd succeed, too, dog. I knew he wouldn't because American series can't have the government being blown up but I so wanted everyone to see that Carrie was right!

Cuh, if these characters just watched the series about them, they'd have all the background detail wouldn't they Wink

The movie websites say the next series starts six months later. Carrie's working on the "fringes of the CIA" in Beirut. Should be a good start! What's the betting she'll have lost all memory of recent events?

Come to think of it, I'll have lost all memory of it by then, too ...

difficultpickle · 07/05/2012 23:56

Sorry I meant five or six months after it is shown in the US. So next Feb/March here.

timetoask · 08/05/2012 06:28

Saw the finale on the iplayer yesterday. Was left wanting more! I hope next series will be as good.

dogindisguise · 08/05/2012 06:48

I was also wondering why Brody drinks beer if he has converted to Islam. To keep up appearances maybe?

TobyLerone · 08/05/2012 10:47

To be fair, I have a good friend who is Muslim and drinks occasionally.

PollyParanoia · 08/05/2012 11:13

OK someone earlier asked why everyone thinks the wife is so rubbish. There's the obvious, she can't act. Secondly, she looks so wrong as an army wife especially one that's been through nine years of hell, grief, uncertainty etc. Thirdly, as this what really pisses me off, she is way too young. I bloody hate stupid sexism that means that men and women who are supposed to be the same age are always played by actors and actresses of wildly differing ages. Especially since generally men look older than women anyway. She is a full 8 years younger than Damien Lewis and yet they are childhood sweethearts and she's supposed to be mother of 16 year old. Born in 1979 in fact, which would make Brody big fat pervert to have knocked her up when he supposedly did.
Don't get me started on the way that black men are allowed to be on tv, but their sisters/mothers/girlfriends are always mixed race and 20 shades lighter (not that there's anything wrong with being mixed race, but there is such a double standard about 'acceptability' of features and skin tones between men and women. Eg president's family in 24).

garlicbutty · 08/05/2012 14:14

black men are allowed to be on tv, but their sisters/mothers/girlfriends are always ... 20 shades lighter

HAH! Yes, that always winds me up, too! So does the (almost) inevitable ridiculous youth of the wives, though I make an exception for Jess Brody because of my girl crush Grin Mira Berenson is highly credible - and wisely decided to opt out of the proceedings!

garlicbutty · 08/05/2012 14:14

I'd love if can't-act Jess turned out to be a mole.

permaquandry · 08/05/2012 14:20

I think the mole is the young CIA agent who worked with Carrie. Can't be Saul, he wouldn't have let Carrie get blown up. Or is it Mike? Not that he knows anything tho?

VeryStressedMum · 08/05/2012 14:25

Apparently the second series isn't going to pick up exactly from where it left off from Carrie waking up in the hospital will she remember... it will be set slightly further forward in the future and Brody is the senator or governor or whatever. Can't think now if Carrie was back in the CIA or what she was doing, but the Carrie/Brody relationship will continue. Apparently.

softpaw · 08/05/2012 15:14

I record it,then I can whizz through the 3 thousand ad breaks

dogindisguise · 08/05/2012 16:23

permaquandry, yes, wasn't Galves assigned to spy on Carrie? We didn't hear any more about that.

DumSpiroSpero · 08/05/2012 18:49

I really, really don't want Carrie & Brody to get it on. Brody's weird and I've got a startling girl crush on his wife!

Shock Shock Shock

I noticed watching that trailer that when Brody speaks to Carrie outside the police station, he says "You need to stay away from me..." which a whole world of different to "I want you to stay away from me" imo thank goodness!

changeforthebetter · 08/05/2012 18:54

Suspect Brody drinks alcohol-free beer (awful stuff). At least 3 Lots of Americans drink that.

garlicbutty · 08/05/2012 19:08

Interesting take on that here:

"Do you think they?re making a point by having Brody drink beer?is it meant to suggest that his faith is insincere?"

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 09/05/2012 01:02

Grin @ carrie, virgil and scooby
