The all new Corrie thread NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

Where has Corrie gone?! Angry bloody football!!

LeeCoakley · 15/10/2012 20:41

Diane Hunter from original Crossroads is Lewis's ex!! She's a much better actress now. And great lines!

GoingBlankAgain · 15/10/2012 22:05

I thought I'd recognised her! Would never have remembered that though! Well done.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 16/10/2012 20:09

Have missed two weeks - can anyone précis for me? Thank you kindly!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 16/10/2012 23:08

Tracey says she is pregnant with Ryan's baby and is milking it for all it's worth, successfully so far as Michelle falls for it by losing her rag every single time Tracey baits her, thus driving Ryan into her arms.

Tyrone and Kirsty has all gone quiet, as has the surrogacy storline thank goodness. Deirdre is (rightly IMO) very worried about Ken being on the governors with Wendy. Lewis has done a runner again. Gloria has turned the Rovers into a B&B behind Stella's back. Maria had a cancer scare which has driven her into the arms of Marcus but no one else has twigged and they have "put it behind them".

KenDoddsDadsDog · 17/10/2012 07:03

Fab update thank you !
I'm pleased I have missed all the our Tracey stuff. I do love it when Ken is on the lech though. Smile

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 17/10/2012 12:49

KDDG - have you tried catcuhing up via itvplayer? If I miss a few episodes I settle down with a glass or two of wine cup of tea and watch 'em back to back Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/10/2012 13:05

I think there is plenty of our Tracey still to come. I don't believe she's pregnant for one minute, with her recent healthscare she would surely needing a lot of medical attention from day 1. Not that the scriptwriters usually take such things into account. Michelle is annoying meore than Tracey at the moment, she should have a bit more dignity.

Sleepyfergus · 17/10/2012 13:15

I've said it before but I'll say it again....am loving Gloria! She's had some fab lines too.

How irritating is the Tracey/Ryan/Michelle storyline? That Ruan bloke us a poor actor, and our Traces lines and quips are getting terribly predictable.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/10/2012 15:35

The B&B storyline is good, so long as they don't drag it on too much. Same with Mary and the cafe international nights.

I agree the Ryan/Tracy thing has gone beyond a joke. It will be a shame if it splits Steve and Michelle, I don't mind her when she's nice, but can't stand the way she keeps lashing out at Tracey and relinquishing the moral high ground.

I think the Lewis running off thing is a cop out though, been there done that, but I am interested in the Kylie trying to better herself idea. Gail seems to have totally lost the plot with regard to customer service in the Bistro, why can't Nick employ anyone outside his family?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/10/2012 20:55

The cafe "Theme Nights"- presumably to earn money (they keep saying about the competition with The Bistro)

How much would all that fabric have cost?
And the costumes?
And the table lights?
The little glasses for the mint tea?
The tangine?

Grin yes I know it's not real.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/10/2012 21:06

Mary probably had all that stuff stashed away in her campervan!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 19/10/2012 21:29

I knew Tracey wouldn't be pregnant! Cant wait until they all find out, Steve and Michelle will go ballistic. Clearly Steve has only 'dumped' Michelle so Tracey will give up on Ryan.

LeeCoakley · 20/10/2012 07:22

Agree about the theme nights. Are they every night, once a week or what? All the planning and cost analysis let alone the props, costumes, food etc are just not plausible.

Hopefully Steve doesn't mean it.
Don't care much for the Lloyd and family storyline.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 20/10/2012 18:07

I am trying to catch up now MrsSalvo great idea! How has Lewis got such an orange face?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2012 18:13

I'm starting to feel sorry for Ryan and I never thought I would be writing that he has been stitched up good and proper, mind you it would be worse if she was actuallly pregnant. Steve presumably didn't pre-warn Michelle that she was going to be fake-dumped - bad move.

Lewis had been on a cruise with Audrey. I nearly threw the remote control at the telly when she wrote the cheque out.

I seem to be alone in this but I quite like Lloyd and his new family, about time he found a bit of happiness.

The pub of the year and cafe theme nights are definitely wearing thin, why do they flog the ideas to death?

ajandjjmum · 20/10/2012 22:17

I think it's all lovely at the moment - well, except for the embarrassing grandma in the pub. So so hope that Michelle doesn't dump Steve when she's finds out what he's (presumably) playing at - just worried that he's not sharp enough to see it through properly! Tracey really is evil - be so happy to see the back of her. Like Lloyd and family and (ducks) even glad that Audrey's kept her little bit of happiness, even if it's cost her!

lighthousekeeping · 20/10/2012 22:45

Do you think that's the end of the Lewis story?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/10/2012 22:50

I hope so. I would have been quie happy to see Lewis and Audrey live happily ever after but I don't think they can pull that off after this latest stunt. I can't imagine Nigel Havers would want to commit to a fulltime role in Corrie, he does so much other work.

lighthousekeeping · 20/10/2012 22:55

Audrey's looking older these days. I do really love her. I want her to be happy.

I knew the theme night would quickly get tedious. It's BYO it can't be making anything!

ajandjjmum · 24/10/2012 08:22

Steve is such an idiot with Michelle - you can see what's coming a mile off!

LeeCoakley · 24/10/2012 15:43

And it's obvious Lewis is going all out to woo Gloria now he knows she's ill.

ajandjjmum · 24/10/2012 18:33

Nooooo - he really can't!!!! Do you think she really is ill?

lighthousekeeping · 24/10/2012 19:20

I hope not as I love Sheila Grant. I think she has a lot to offer the street.

MrsSalvoMontalbano · 24/10/2012 19:33

What was that illness part all about? Yet again we see Dr Carter the least realistic character ever, making an evening call to the pub and confirming she has a terminal illness Shock
