I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws

Got it now - Adam was Ken's grandson, Mike Baldwin's son with Susan Barlow.
(still think Wendy had a son....)

I think Mark was Mike's son with Maggie. He turned up as an adult, went into partnership with Mike and stole Mike's very young fiance off him (the girl who used to be in Emmerdale, can't remember her name now).

Adam turned up a few years ago after Susan died but went back to Scotland in the end.

yes - the Dingle girl - she bore an unfortuante resemblance to my SIL so I always hated her

and didn't it all kick off on their wedding day ( as it always does in Soapland)

Anyway, I just came on to rave about Sue Johnston, living her character.

Oh and I totally remember the Wendy Crozier hoo hah of many years ago....

Linda Sykes, that was the girl who was marrying Mike and had an affair with the son. Can't remember if they actually married or not.

I think they ran off together o. the morning of the wedding. Didn't she ditch someone at the altar in Emmerdale too?

Yes to Gloria! In the good old comic traditon of corrie - loving her! You realy feel the actress in enjoying this part!

Yes, she is really growing on me now. She grated in the first episode or two, the leaping in to try and get Stella and Karl back together was wrong, but getting her up against Norris is a good way to go.

still not convinced about Gloria - she'll never be Blanche

The soaps are doing more of the bringing a "named" actress/actor into the soaps.
You know they'll be playing a big part.
But it's hard to look at Gloria and think "OK you're Gloria, not you're Sheila Grant/ Barbera Royle"

I'm not convinced by Gloria, I am just finding her annoying at the moment.

I look at Michelle Collins and see Stella now, not Cindy Beale, but that was a long time ago. I never did see Sinbad from Brookside as anyone other than Sinbad though.

Perhaps it depends, it they are very well known but not for one or two specific characters, eg Nigel Havers, then it is easier than for someone like Sue Johnston who is so well known for those two iconic roles.

The scenes with Kirsty and her mum, and Tyrone standing up to her dad were quite emotional, albeit raced through. (Perhaps the actors are going on a break for a while!)

What a stupid farce in the street though with Tracey and Ryan's mum (can't think of her name). Those big curlers looked hilarious!

And do we think Ken and Wendy are about to start something again?

Just caught up with Monday's episode. "Wendy Crozier is the woman who broke up my marriage". Come on Ken, it takes two to tango, if your over-excited todger had turned the other cheek nothing would have happened!

I agree with whoever said that Kirsty's baby not being Tyrone's, especially as someone (I forget who) commented to Ty in a recent episode 'She looks nothing like you' and Ty replied 'Oh thanks' in a 'jeez, thanks for that' mardy manner. I thought at the time that comment would lead somewhere . Offhand comments in soaps often lead to whole storylines playing out.
