I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 06/05/2012 17:01

I'm sure the same actor has always played Marcus?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 06/05/2012 17:06

I thought so too Scottish.

MadameChinLegs · 06/05/2012 17:15

Just caught up on Friday's episodes, my word, it was so sad watching Julie and Brian. I really don't like Brian, but think the scenes were very well done.

FriskyMare · 06/05/2012 17:19

Hmmm...Charlie Condou plays Marcus, he left a couple of years ago and then came back. Who is the other actor jilted?

LeeCoakley · 06/05/2012 17:22

Ooops my mistake! I can't read that's the trouble.
Corriepedia says 'The character was written out of the soap in 2008 after Charlie Condou quit the role. However, he was re-cast and returned in 2011'. I read it first time as the role had been re-cast.
As you were....

Lozario · 07/05/2012 21:09

Who's watching? That's the same loanshark that Joe McEntire had isn't it!

FriskyMare · 07/05/2012 21:15

Thank you Lozario, I was racking my brains about the loanshark. Also saw Martin Platt selling his cheese in Manchester a while back :o

FriskyMare · 07/05/2012 21:26

Carl & Sunita are making me feel a bit sick...

whenskiesaregrey · 07/05/2012 21:29

I hate the Carl and Sunita storyline. I hope they get found out soon.

Lozario · 07/05/2012 22:08

Agreed, they have absolutely no chemistry.

whatkungfuthat · 08/05/2012 15:58

The Carl and Sunitta storyline is ridiculous, he's an even bigger idiot than Dev. Poor Eileen being dicked around about the holiday, she needs to dump Trouser-Smell Fireman quickly.

whenskiesaregrey · 08/05/2012 16:37

I know, why would anyone be attracted to someone who quite obviously has a gambling problem, would try and stage a robbery in their own pub, hide all kinds from their partner, and seek out the attention of other women?? Why?! And they are being so obvious about it, as if someone wouldn't have realised by now!

LineRunner · 08/05/2012 19:07

When Carl groped Sunita's bum as he launched his tongue down her throat I felt sick. Sick that the writers would think it remotely possible that we would buy into such a crap plotline.

Lozario · 08/05/2012 19:32

Ha ha do you remember when Dev and Dierdre shagged?! That was way worse! My husband still goes on about the "through Dev's leg" shot that Harry Hill used to always take the piss out of.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/05/2012 19:34

Oh God. Dev and Deirde was so bad! So was Ken and Stephanie Beacham.
All I could think about were Sunita's crap jeans!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 08/05/2012 20:48

Me too. Those jeans were so, so bad. Am expecting her to have crimped her hair tonight to give her the complete look.

FriskyMare · 08/05/2012 21:19

Bleurgh - sunita & carl at it again

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 08/05/2012 22:28

Apart from Carl and Stella things have picked up a bit at the moment IMO. I am very unimpressed with the way Stella has gone so soft on Carl and is excusing him everything, she should toughen up a bit and see what's going on under her nose. It also helps that Carla and Peter and the Platts have faded into the background a bit.

The Julie and Brian storyline has been beautifully acted, the Tyrone and Kirsty descent into physical as well as emotional abuse has been done well. Terry is as selfish as ever and his acting has improved after a wobbly start. Norris and his hanging baskets providing a bit of light relief. Just need to sort out the Eileen and Paul situation, which is a total shambles. I've lost track a bit on that, had he actually moved in with Eileen?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/05/2012 05:00

Has Kirsty been sacked that quickly or just suspended?

MadameChinLegs · 09/05/2012 09:06

Paul needs new jackets, i'm sick of seeing in the same one in either cream or brown.

I agre re: Brian and Julie, very heartwarming and sad. Very well done (aside form the fact she got an op so quickly and that Marcus actually was able to come away from his wartd to visit them....thought hospitals were supposed to be overstretched?)

What do we want the next pairing up to be? I'd like Maria to get a bit of happiness, and Emily could do with a companion.

BrightnessFalls · 09/05/2012 11:59

Im not so fond of Maria. Im just jealous, I suppose.

I hope this loan shark thing isnt going to go on forever and a day. Do you think Tina will kill him or something?

What happened to Sophie? what she doing now?

MadameChinLegs · 09/05/2012 12:12

Yes, Sophie has sunk into the shaddows....dont you find though, that you don't even see some of the regulars for weeks, even in the background? WHere's Katie and Chesney? Kirk?

Also, I do think it's a bit tooooo convenient that at the same time Sunita starts an affair, Dev suddenly choses to take the kids on a load of holidays?

longingforsomesleep · 09/05/2012 15:24

I interpreted the 'as luck would have it we have a cancellation tomorrow' comment as the doc being kind to Julie and pretending that was the reason she was going in so quickly whereas really they were treating her as an emergency because she could have ovarian cancer.

My mum had a melanoma which (when her gp finally got round to referring her) a consultant took one look at and had her in hospital within I think 2 days so the nhs can move quickly sometimes! I think this is one of the reasons why scheduled ops get cancelled so often - something urgent crops up and the non-urgent cases get bumped.

I did think it was odd however, that she was waiting for the bus to the hospital with only her handbag - no overnight bag anywhere to be seen!

MadameChinLegs · 09/05/2012 16:18

I also find it odd that they dont have a car. I mean, Brian may not drive, but surely most Head Teachers own a car?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/05/2012 16:39

Ken Don't know what's happened to Kirsty. I've missed a couple of episodes, including the one where she whacked Tyrone. Has she been sacked over the Council Chamber escapade?
