The all new Corrie thread NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

Kirsty is now working in the knicker factory, along with everybody else in the whole of Wetherfield, apart from Marcus who does all the health care.

MadameChinLegs · 09/05/2012 16:47

And surely a packing job is not suitable for a pregnant lady? It must involve lots of lifting boxes etc.

whatkungfuthat · 09/05/2012 16:54

I thought Kirsty was suspended, so surely she will still be paid by the Police until the investigation?

squoosh · 09/05/2012 17:14

Does Kirsty have a glass eye?

LineRunner · 09/05/2012 17:18

She couldn't get in to the police force with a glass eye.

whatkungfuthat · 09/05/2012 18:17

DP said something about her eye the other night, I hadn't noticed

Lozario · 09/05/2012 19:03

She has a lazy eye sometimes. I thought that about a packing job too - although I guess pregnancy isn't that compatible with policing either!

LineRunner · 09/05/2012 19:08

You can do any job when pregnant but there has to be a risk assessment for jobs with ... erm ... risk. And then you can get shoved on a desk. Or something like that.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 09/05/2012 19:59

I missed a bit of the aftermath of the town hall debacle, but my impression was that Kirsty was suspended, didn't she tell Ty that just before she tried to blame him and whacked him with the ladle? She never seemed to spend any time at work anyway just like the rest of them

Lozario · 09/05/2012 21:09

Sunita's clothes are so 80s aren't they! She dresses like a travel agent.

PoorAudreyHorseface · 10/05/2012 07:49

So ... Tina, who has no experience of anything other than picking loser boyfriends, has the bright idea of opening a club even though she has no money and immediately packs in her only source of income so that she can devote herself to becoming an organiser of a gig venue for students?

And did anyone else think that the loan shark's henchmen weren't very scary?

OP posts:
MurielTheActor · 10/05/2012 09:13

No - not very scary at all. Seems to be a vague sense of turning them into a comedy turn.
BUT...
When they first appeared in Terry's flat (room?) and Tommy turned up and promised to give him the money, they hugged and there was one of those Tracey Barlow moments with Terry looking evil.
So I thought it was all a set up just to get Tommy to pay up.
Maybe it will all twist back that way? There has to be more than this otherwise anyone else in Terry's position would have done a runner.

legohamster · 10/05/2012 11:49

Hi. OK, I have a corrie query that's been bugging me for ages, have asked my mum and MIL and friends who watch and no one knows what I'm on about.

When Tommy Duckworth arrived in the Street looking for his grandparents no one recognised him, but who was the character a few years back who came to live with Jack and Tyrone (maybe Vera too) who was a chef and opened the pizzeria with Lianne? I'm sure it was supposed to be Tommy. They tried to burn down the pizza place too for the insurance money too.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 10/05/2012 12:05

That was another son by a different mother, can't remember his name now, was he the one that Vera donated a kidney to when he was very young and then (like Tracey) it was never mentioned again.

legohamster · 10/05/2012 12:12

Ahh, ok thanks. I didn't realise that there were 2 grandsons, it makes more sense now

FriskyMare · 10/05/2012 17:06

Terry had a son with Andrea Clayton called Paul in 1986 and another called Brad in 1997 with Tricia Armstrong.

TheScottishPlayer · 10/05/2012 18:39

Ah yes, Chef Paul. He was hooked up Leanne and worked in her restaurant and ended up fleeing to country to avoid jail.

Lozario · 10/05/2012 18:44

I had forgotten all about him - thought he was one of Ken's. Love-child confusion.

legohamster · 10/05/2012 19:45

So there's Paul, Brad and Tommy?

alemci · 10/05/2012 20:14

so who is Tommy's mother. I do remember the grandparents living in Blackpool and Vera going to stay with them.

also Terry has such a bad hairdye and combover and seems to expanded widthways rather alot over the years'.

whatkungfuthat · 10/05/2012 20:21

Tommy's mum was a goth called Lisa who got run over in the street. IIRC she was living with Des Barnes at the time?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/05/2012 21:21

Sunita and Carl. Grim.

LeeCoakley · 10/05/2012 21:25

I feel sick. It just doesn't suit Sunita's character to cheat and anyway she should have more taste.

BrightnessFalls · 10/05/2012 21:30

Yes, its making me boak too. As if she'd go for him and risk everything.

Why is it on every night this week? Its getting on my nerves.
