The big Corrie thread (Spoiler Alert!)

For those of us who have no life care about Corrie and want to see it returned to its former glory.

And want answers to questions such as:

Why are Sean and Marcus moving back into Eileen's pokey house instead of getting a place of their own as other couples with two wages would do?

And does anyone else apart from me and Edith Weston remember when Corrie was on two days a week and was a high quality drama/comedy?

Oh, also meant to say - Mary is another one that they don't seem to know what they're doing with. Norris seems to have completely got over the 'Misery' style storyline about Mary practically keeping him hostage!

I think they could do with someone new coming into it and shaking it up. I dont know if Terry Duckworth is that one.

I feel fairly confident that Terry Duckworth is not that one.

I sometimes like Anna, but I wish she would just kick Owen into touch once and for all. I do think they could make more of her character, together with Faye. Maybe she could get together with Steve?

Kylie is shaping up well, but it's the same story over and over, they just have her falling out with one person after another. It would be nice to see more of her and Max together. How that salon makes enough to support Audrey, David, Kylie, Max, Maria and little Liam is beyond me.

I like Fiz, but am quite glad she is taking a back seat after all the ludicrous John Stape business. They could make more of Chesney and KAtie though. So many characters just seem to be there as padding now.

I get really frustrated at how the writers seem to go "let's pair X with A then B then C then D then E....." I know it makes ofr a bit of drama, but seriously, there are no newer 'long term couples' on the street.

I think Sue Johnston coming in as Stella's mum might be a good move.

She might do a better accent than Stella!

I'm a bit puzzled at Dennis Tanner being engaged to Rita, when I could have sworn that she was one of Elsie's mates back in the 60s!
I hate Carla, she's a horrible character and should go. Can't believe what a bloater Terry is now.
Steve is great, he's more of an old school Corrie character than most of them. Dev and Sunita need to go, they are boring and shouty.

everyone on the street has shagged everyone else.

Jason has been with: Becky, Julie, Rosie, Tina (not sure about Maria)

Nick has been with: Tracy, becky, leanne, eva

Peter has been with: Carla, Leanne, Michelle

Steve with: Michelle, Becky, Tracy

....and let's not forget that Dev shagged Deirdre!!

I do think it's a cheap option for storylines "who can sleep with who this month?"

I want to see some unusual couplings:

Tina and Roy

Nick and Rita

Emily and Tommy

So Steve and Leanne is still actually possible?

Is Sheila Grant really coming into it? Thank goodness for that. I proper actress. Infact, they should move The Royles in!

Yes, she turns up quite soon, I think - there was something in the Radio Times about it, either last week or this week.

I'd like to see Liz Smith play a cameo, but I think she might be a bit frail - she'd be a great feisty foil for prim Emily and old cabaret girl Rita, wouldn't she?

Yes but she is too frail. Pat Butcher would sort them all out also!! It's just so dull these days. I miss Alma and that crowd.

I liked Alma and Mike and all the tension between Baldwin and Ken.

I quite liked the Debra Stephenson - Bradley Walsh combination too until it got silly with the story about her and her stepson.

Phyllis and Percy - great double act!!

How about Norris and Sylvia? That would put Mary's nose out of joint. Does she live permanently in that camper van? It is huge, where on earth does she park it and surely it's illegal to live in it parked on a public road.

Norris and Sylvia - she would flatten him if they got physical!

I think Sylvia would turn her nose up at Norris. Perhaps she could sneak in and sweep Dennis away from Rita! I thought they were going down a Sylvia and Dennis route but they must have changed their minds I was wrong.

Maria has been with Nick too !

Do we really think the oldies are better? I agree that the Betty scenes have been good this week and I think Audrey and Norris and Diedre are good but Ken ,Rita and Emilys acting is excruciatingly bad sometimes.
Yes they are part of the furniture but they are from the Mike Baldwin school of acting (remember how bad he was). Dev must have picked up some tips from him too !
Think Eileen and Steve are brill , think Marcus is good but Anthony cotton has really fizzled out the last couple of years for me.
Need some promising young uns -Tina is good I think and Kylie has potential but Tyrone and Amber and Chesney are pretty bad.

I used to think Nick was awful (badly cast too as aged about 20 yrs) but I think he actually all right now.
Karl was really good as Robbie in Taggart -he was the sexy dangerous good looking one with his lovely scottish accent-in this he is horrible creepy guy and has a camp bad accent really put me off him.

Carla was married to Paul who slept with leanne when she was a hooker. Paul's brother was Liam and his sister is Michelle. Liam married Maria but had an affair with Carla. Carla then married Tony who then had an affair with Maria.
Carla is now with Peter who was with Michelle and then married Leanne before taking up with Carla

.....!!
