The big Corrie thread (Spoiler Alert!)

For those of us who have no life care about Corrie and want to see it returned to its former glory.

And want answers to questions such as:

Why are Sean and Marcus moving back into Eileen's pokey house instead of getting a place of their own as other couples with two wages would do?

And does anyone else apart from me and Edith Weston remember when Corrie was on two days a week and was a high quality drama/comedy?

Please no, no, no to Sheila Grant becoming Cindy Beale's mother.

Stella is bad enough in the pub anyhow, and adding another "multiple soap syndrome" actor is just wrong.

PuffPants · 19/04/2012 08:43

Ooh MagentaStardust - I agree on every point Smile Although I would add Tracey and Sunita to the list of those needing remedial acting lessons. Both very poor IMVHO.

magentastardust · 19/04/2012 12:53

Oh and dont get me started on poor Carla Connor -what have they done to her she was an attractive ,glam , wag-esque career woman who had a nice wardrobe and flat -now she goes around with greasy hair and that awful leather jacket and lives in Peters skanky flat with the stickers on the cupboards!!
I get she wouldn't want to stay where Frank raped her but she hadn't thought of buying somewhere with Peter or at least redecorating ?

whatkungfuthat · 19/04/2012 16:05

Carla's voice really grates on me, she didn't sound so squeaky on Dream Team

Nancy66 · 19/04/2012 17:17

squeaky?
I think she sounds like some hairy-arsed sailor

BrightnessFalls · 19/04/2012 17:40

I know I cant stop going on about it but, I adore her eyebrows. And now Ive noticed that Tina has got them as well. They must be going to the same woman. I need those eyebrows.

whatkungfuthat · 19/04/2012 18:10

She's sort of nasally Nancy, she used to have a nice well-modulated voice. I wonder which one is put on?

Brightness, they all have them - Katie, the sister, Anna and Becky (when she was on) I think most of them are the HD brows but 'Carla' has always had them or something similar so I think she got a hand genes-wise.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/04/2012 20:35

Euurrgh what happened to Terry Duckworth?

He looks like a younger version of Bernard Manning.

Only less funny.

PoorAudreyHorseface · 19/04/2012 20:46

And his acting has got worse ... if that's possible!

OP posts:
KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/04/2012 20:47

Terry looks like someone has pumped him up

EdithWeston · 19/04/2012 20:54

Aaaaaaggggghhhhh!

What appalling plotting!

But if it gets rid of Stella and Carl, I can forgive it.

theliverpoolone · 19/04/2012 21:06

is anyone going to tell Becky, or Liz, or any of the other ex-cast who were close to her, about Betty? You'd think they'd at least mention having told them.

I can hardly bear to look at Terry.

HappyJustToBe · 19/04/2012 22:16

Urgh, Terry is an odious man.

PoorAudreyHorseface · 19/04/2012 22:50

The relationship between Sunita and Caaahl is as unbelievable as the coupling of Kevin and Mollie. Desperate plotline.

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 20/04/2012 11:54

The plots are so transparent at the moment, the Sunita and Carl one is dreadful. The only interesting thing on the horizon is who owns the pub, but that it a bit ridiculous as Stella has a mortgage so surely the mortgage co would have the deeds and land registry etc. Gordon would possibly have a case to sue Billy Walker, who must have sold it wrongly in the first place, but thats it.

Which flat did Chesney and Katie live in, who lives there now?

PoorAudreyHorseface · 20/04/2012 13:08

I wonder how Sarah-Louise is getting on in Italy?

OP posts:
WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/04/2012 13:57

Chesney and Katie live with Fiz I think.

Rita finding the letter about the pub wasn't scripted very convincingly. The degree of surprise was about what you might expect if she'd found a letter saying she had left the books to Emily's charity shop. The stolen pub glasses was silly too.

The whole Tommy/Terry thing is the most ludicrous storyline in a while (and that's saying something). Terry did used to be a pretty good villain in years gone by but I don't think he is what they need right now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/04/2012 14:06

Is Owen doing some work for Terry then?

Has Terry come back onto the Street (with his Business Man Wool Coat) to settle down and make a new life?

PoorAudreyHorseface · 20/04/2012 16:30

Yes, Owen (the only builder in Weatherfield) is converting the unit next to the Bistro into something (anyone know what?) for Turry who wants to start a business in a place where everyone hates him.

OP posts:
BiscuitNibbler · 20/04/2012 16:54

It is another bar I think. Because obviously the pub, bistro and corner shop do not provide adequate opportunities for the ten or twelve houses in the vicinity to buy alcohol.

MadameChinLegs · 20/04/2012 18:10

Strip club

Nancy66 · 20/04/2012 18:12

Owen is the trade equivalent of Martin....who, when he was in it, was single-handedly staffing every ward at Wetherfield General.

FrillyMilly · 20/04/2012 20:01

All the bad uns seem turn in to pantomime villains. Tracy is the same.

BiscuitNibbler · 20/04/2012 20:35

Thought it was funny tonight when Tracy said she hardly knew Betty and Ken & Deirdre pointed out that she had not only known her all her life but was her godmother too.

TheScottishPlayer · 20/04/2012 21:14

Didn't Gordon have a family? He seemed to be up for the funeral all by himself. I'd thought they might have got an old face or two back for it.
