A mother is still breastfeeding her 8 yr old daughter!

Will try and watch it tho I think it might make me feel ill.

There is also a woman who tandem feeds her 4 yr old twins!

i dont' think you're a freak hercules. i don/t klnow you. but i do think chosing to breastfeedd an 8 year old is disturbing

But you said it was the same for a four year old ie a freak show. Well, I bf a 4 year old so I must be a freak.

or do you feel a little differently now you are "talking" to someone who did so and as far as you know they're not a freak.

Beansprout, I am interested where you got the average age 7 thing from. A quick google seems to give the average age at around 4.2 (so you are in excellent company hercules1 )

no i don't know you because you're posting. yes the thought of someone breastfeeding a 4 year old makes me feel sick

Dh was bf till 4 and thinks bf is great.

perhaps i could charge you to watch as didnt people used to pay to visit freak shows.

I have no problem with people saying they dont like bf and we all have our cut off point but to say it makes you want to be sick and call it a freak show but not give any reasons is just silly.

but your're not discussing it. Where are your reasons etc. You said you dont like it therefore it must be sick and freakish according to your reasons. i have lots of reasons as to why I know feeding a four year old isnt freakish- one being it's the average age for weaning.

Mud, how can it be seen to be abnormal or abhorant to bf until 4, when that is about the average time for weaning world wode? (and fwiw i finished bf my two at 4 months due to major supply problem)

Why is it freaky to BF til 4? Is it because you think it sexulises a child? because you think they ought to be independant of the mother? Because you think breast/bottle feeding a child til 4 is unhealthy... genuinely wondering

Shall I give more reasons? Well, I've never been arrested or investigated by social services. I've been congratulated by an allergy consultant and breast consultant who thought it was great and didnt dob me in to the freak police.

I know lots of people who bf their kids to that age or to toddlers, ds's best friend was fed till 2 1/2, loads of dh's family were bf till this age and even older.

oh and ds went to nursery full time from the age of 3 and I work 4 days a week so I have no problem letting go of my kids.

I've also been a teacher for the last 5 years and now work with the most vulnerable children in society but managed to pass my police check with out any problems.

so I'm a freak because.......
