Just watched part 2 of Homeland shown on Channel 4 last night.

Fantastic drama with an excellent script, superb acting and lots of twists and turns.

Has he been brainwashed????

I thought the wanting scene was as it should be - it was meant to be horrible and it was just that. NOt sure how else it could've been portrayed really.

LOVED last night's episode, getting really good now! Hope it doesn't stop and then start up again for a second series as I always forget what's gone on Blush

I'm enjoying this so much that I'm finding myself thinking about it today.

Have just read through this thread and love the proposition that Brody is a double/ triple agent - being seen to pray in the garage and not having the sofa moved because he knows that there will be Al Queda cameras there as well as CIA surveillance.

Don't trust Saul at all - Why did he kiss that terrorist and murmer something to him when he first met him before the interrogation? I think he either gave the terrorist the blade or murdered him himself to make it look like suicide.

Also don't trust Estes - why was he trying to get the CIA researcher guy to keep an eye on Carrie?

I just really feel that Brody is a good guy and think that he and Carrie must end up working together, on the same side, to save the day. I think he gets that she is good and sincere and feels he can trust her. There's also definite chemistry between them. If all this is the case, I wonder how and when Carrie will come to believe that Brody is a good guy. Am I right in thinking that the only reason that she thinks he's a baddie is because of what that prisoner whispered to her in the prison. Other than that, what evidence does she have?

I am really having to discipline myself not to look up spoilers!

SpringHeeledJack · 19/03/2012 14:45

I've got to remember not to eat a curry in front of it

we forget every week, and there's always a torture scene while I'm mopping up me tarka dal

gah

SpringHeeledJack · 19/03/2012 14:49

SPOILER ALERT

I'm sure Damian Lewis said on the Twitter that Brodie is finger twitching the Match of the Day theme in ep 2

IAmSherlocked · 19/03/2012 16:12

SpringHeeledJack - I have just tried that right now Grin

I defy anyone to read SpringHeeledJack's post and not try it, actually!

ihatethecold · 19/03/2012 19:32

Best thing on tv at the moment.
Im hooked

EightToSixer · 19/03/2012 23:11

Haha. I also tried to do it! And also thought Damien Lewis is on twitter!! How did I not know this?!

EightToSixer · 19/03/2012 23:15

And why can't I find him on there? I need to be following the man, he's a legendary ginger

BrightnessFalls · 20/03/2012 00:15

I dont get why the boobs are offending some on here when there are scenes of torture that make me squirm.

valiumredhead · 20/03/2012 08:32

Possibly because it's unusual to see boobs on American television bright? I didn't realise until my sister who lives out there told me it's usually a big no no. And yes, quite, torture!

BrightnessFalls · 20/03/2012 09:57

Is it though? Im thinking Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, Big Love,Game of Thrones, boobs and shagging everywhere Smile. Im assusming Homeland is on cable and thats why nudity is shown so, I dont think its unusual or shocking for cable.

I cant stand this having to wait a full week for the next one. It had to be Saul that passed him the razor, dont you think?

balancein2012 · 20/03/2012 11:37

BrightnessFalls I think Saul slit his wrists and then raised the alarm. The reason he killed him possibly because he knew that the man was going to tell all in order to have his family protected. I'm sure Saul's a baddie!

I can't watch the tortune - have to cover my eyes when there are flashbacks to Brody's ordeal. DH tells me when I can look again.

SpringHeeledJack · 20/03/2012 13:03

Eight he's @lewis_damian

he's a late adopter (?) and hardly tweets at all, tho

balance neither me or dp can watch the torture. We both sit there cringing and munching with our hands over our eyes. And when there's tits we're like a pair of embarassed nanas eg "ooh! wasn't expecting that" etc

lizziebennet · 21/03/2012 08:55

I was wondering last night if David could turn out to be the baddy - I definitely think it is someone on the inside. When they were trailing the lecturer guy, there was someone who phoned up and in a disguised voice told the woman to hang the flag out of the window. Now one option is that they were watching the lecturer constantly, but the other option is that there's someone on the inside who knew he was under suspicion. This would also explain why they knew to leave the house when they did before the CIA got there. There's no way that Brody knew about the tailing or about the prisoner providing the email address, though admittedly he did know they had the guy in custody.

EightToSixer · 21/03/2012 17:40

Thanks shj. Followed :-) He will obviously be aware of this and realise that I am the woman of his dreams forthwith. We shall ride off in to the sunset on a suitably manly horse or chariot or somesuch and he will tell me the plot of Homeland while staring deeply into my eyes. Yes.

foxinsocks · 25/03/2012 10:27

I love it. Just caught it all up on 4 on demand but not the first episode. Did anything significant happen in that one? How many more to go?

foxinsocks · 25/03/2012 10:30

And don't you think the wife looks a bit like Christine Bleakley?

ifancyashandy · 25/03/2012 21:46

Oh My Chuffing Fucking God!!!!!!

She should not have done that!

Shock
befuzzled · 25/03/2012 21:59

oooooh I've seen the last episode! Gets good!

HalleLouja · 25/03/2012 22:32

Don't like the wife's new hair cut. What is Carrie upto? She is going to be in lots of shit

It made me chuckle when Estes was asked if he was married.

ifancyashandy · 25/03/2012 23:21

And Saul 'spiked' on the test but no-one is going to see it!!

peggyblackett · 26/03/2012 07:54

Oooh it was good last night. The fact that Brody could manipulate the test so it didn't spike .

Who is following Aileen and Faisal?

Hassled · 26/03/2012 11:08

Good to see this thread - I'm obsessed, even though I was late to the party and missed the first two episodes.

What was Carrie thinking? Silly, silly little CIA woman.

Brodie knew it was Carrie asking the wife-cheating question, didn't he? The way he leaned forward and looked at the camera when he said "No". And why did she get in the car?
