Just watched part 2 of Homeland shown on Channel 4 last night.

Fantastic drama with an excellent script, superb acting and lots of twists and turns.

Has he been brainwashed????

She gets her medication from her sister - he condition has never been officially diagnosed as she knows that they wouldn't let her do the work that she does.
I don't think the MH issues are unnecessary, and I think that they do a good job as not portraying her as being unhinged.

raininginbaltimore · 07/03/2012 17:01

I realise it may not be realistic.working for CIA. However I am just glad to see a real example on TV.

valiumredhead · 07/03/2012 17:03

What condition does she have rain?

Slartybartfast · 07/03/2012 17:18

she takes anti psychotics, i just read, and she has a mood disorder.

valiumredhead · 07/03/2012 17:19

Ah right, thanks :)

Slartybartfast · 07/03/2012 17:29

squeaver · 07/03/2012 21:28

Oh that's all VERY interesting...

cornsilkidy · 11/03/2012 23:08

so are they going to have an affair...?

PuffPants · 11/03/2012 23:23

It is veeeeeeery slow, don't you think? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

cornsilkidy · 11/03/2012 23:24

no I really like it!

PuffPants · 11/03/2012 23:26

Also very unusual to have so much sex and boobage in an American show. Seems rather gratuitous to me. The wanking scene was just icky. Coud have been more subtly done, no need to be so explicit.

I hated the scene last week where they were choosing the new whores for the prince. Something rather misogynistic about this show.

PuffPants · 11/03/2012 23:27

But corn apart from a dead deer, what actually happened tonight?

cornsilkidy · 11/03/2012 23:27

yes the sex and boobage is ewww.
Love Claire Danes though.

cornsilkidy · 11/03/2012 23:28

that's a trick question ;)

GothAnneGeddes · 12/03/2012 01:59

I would just like one show, just one, where there are Muslims in it and they are not the bad guys and it's not about terrorism.

That is all.

Bue · 12/03/2012 11:16

I don't think Carrie's being portrayed at all insensitively. She's shown as highly intelligent, motivated and amazing at her job. I actually think it's a positive portrayal of someone with a serious MH condition.

Does anyone think Carrie is going to try to start an affair with Brody? I'm wondering if that's her next tactic. Would also fit with her personality.

Puff I agree, I love the show except for the misogyny running through the whole thing.

Bue · 12/03/2012 11:19

GothAnne Little Mosque on the Prairie 'Tis hilarious. (In a Canadian way.)

TracyK · 12/03/2012 13:56

I thought that carrie and Brody would get it together and thought that she would turn him back into a goody - but the triple agent story works just as well I guess.
I'm thinking the couple wanted a house under the flight path to shoot a plane down?? or maybe to be near the airport?
I am loving it.
I missed the bit - did Carrie and her immediate boss used to have an affair years ago?

MrsKitty · 12/03/2012 14:52

tracyk, yes it was alluded to a week or two ago. His wife found out and left with their children. Get the impression he's not been the only colleague she's had an affair with either, although definitely not with Saul - he was v offended when she tried to come on to him to get him to agree with her/help her with the surveillance stuff.

BrightnessFalls · 15/03/2012 21:08

I dont mind the boobs and shagging infact, Ive missed it since Boardwalk Empire!!! I love to admire envy boobs that are still in the right place. That wife does seem too young to me.

Im glad I never deleted this as it has replaced 24 nicely.

changeforthebetter · 17/03/2012 22:16

Just got up to date on this.

The wife is far too young but yawningly predicatable that they cast a young woman with no apparent effects of apparently being bereaved, raising two kids alone, shacking up with her husband's best friend until whoops aforementioned returns. I mean, she looks about 25.

Do like it vair much though. Quite compelling. Unworried by boobage

willali · 19/03/2012 12:32

so who do we think passed the razor blade - my money's on Saul (when he embraced the prisoner) but don't know why...

I love the fact that every episode has left us hanging with so many questions - so irritating toi have to wait a whole week for the next one!

lilibet · 19/03/2012 12:39

My dd said Saul, but if that's right, why didn't he kill himself earlier?

Brody asked to see the prisoner right away, would he have had a razor blade on him to pass over then? Unlikely that he carries one all the time.

SarahJessicaFarter · 19/03/2012 12:46

If you want a show about baddies and goodies, but Muslims are not portrayed as the bad guys (don't forget it's really about nationality and ideals) then Sleeper Cell is brilliant. Few years old now, but it was on Showtime in the US. You can prob find it on Amazon...or something?!
Enjoying Homeland too, but agree, too much boobs for just post watershed viewing. The line is getting more and more blurred!

noddyholder · 19/03/2012 13:22

I absolutely love it.
