smugmumofboys Tak, tak, for persuading me to buy The Killing boxset. Am on episode 17 and still none the wiser to who killed Bambi Nanna. Loving it though, it's very addictive :)

Ilikekerfuffle · 25/01/2012 22:42

It's "tak for mad "( mad is food, pronounced Mal ).
"vi ses" see you
Swearing in Danish " hold da keft/ shut up, shut your mouth
"forsatan" for Satan ....

Bloody brilliant
Yes yes and yes

keruffle thanks for the language lesson Grin
pantah glad you're enjoying TK1!!!

Getting slightly panicked about the end of Borgen - do we think the Beeb is going to run "The Bridge" immediately after?

smugmumofboys · 28/01/2012 23:00

Glad you're enjoying it pantah

Found tonight's episodes really hard to watch - but in a good way. The Kaspar storyline is so so sad and the tension between Birgitte and Philip came across really well.

Love it.

SomedayIllFlyAway · 29/01/2012 15:50

teejwood I hope so!

I was reading the Sunday Times today and heard about The Bridge, but they have also just finished the third series of The Killing and have commissioned a second series of Borgen too, which is good news IMO!

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/01/2012 18:28

Loving this series.

Felt so sorry for Kasper - had guessed it was going to be something like that.

Strange gets totally on my nerves - he's not at all supportive in my opinion. And why don't they get some bloody help! Can't imagine SamCam saying 'oooh Dave - can't make that important dinner as can't get a babysitter'

KikkiK · 30/01/2012 21:47

I've only watched the first five episodes, so haven't read the whole thread yet for fear of spoilers, but I was wondering if we ever find out what Birgitte did before she went into politics?

I suppose technically that's a spoiler too, but I'm curious! Love this program, really hope BBC4 show the second series soon too!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 30/01/2012 21:56

Just watched 7 and 8 :( actually cried at the end of 8 Blush I wish they hadn't made their home life suffer so much-surely they would get help in, Mrs CB you are quite right!!

redroof · 31/01/2012 15:51

There's a second series?!
I love my Scandic saturday evenings.

minxthemanx · 31/01/2012 21:14

sorry to be a bit out of the loop, what night/channel is borgen on? Really want to watch it, love the Stieg larsson/Jo Nesbo books so fancy trying Borgen.

KikkiK · 31/01/2012 21:18

Redroof, there sure is - according to Wikipedia the second series was shown in Denmark last autumn. And a third series is planned for autumn this year.
Not that I have been googling obsessively or anything...

KikkiK · 31/01/2012 21:21

minxthemanx, it's on BBC4, I think it's shown on Saturday nights but I have been watching on iplayer. All the episodes are still available as far as I know, not sure how much longer for though.

joanofarchitrave · 01/02/2012 22:17

A meeting with the school psychologist.

let's just savour those words shall we - school psychologist.

As opposed to an ed psych who is funded to see about 10 children a year per LEA.

teejwood · 01/02/2012 23:30

they are making a third series of Borgen - interview with the PM/Birgitte/Sidse here

OP posts:
Pantah630 · 01/02/2012 23:38

Strange could manhandle me his supportiveness appears to be weakening at the offer of good job. I thought he'd agreed to be SAHD for 5 years then go back to the business world.

Hope Kaspar gets some closure now and starts speaking the truth. Off to read about second/third series now :)

Deux · 02/02/2012 09:17

I've gone right off Strange, he was so manly in The Killing. He's just no longer doing it for me in Borgen. . What a moany-pants.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 02/02/2012 09:39

Ah, perhaps he was more manly than this point in the series, but also a mass murderer in K2 Grin my happy place is him in the first few episodes-witty supportive and sexy!
