Meglet · 21/12/2011 21:11

he's going to burn his bloody house down!!! Shock

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:12

I am going to be Angry if we don't see it being cleared a la Kim and Aggie.

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:13

It's making me feel claustrophobic. Sad

I work with / support a guy like this in my job. He is nowhere as bad as this man but I was still Shock when I initially walked into his house. The man on this show is almost certainly mentally ill. Unless the reason he hoards is addressed, he will just carry on hoarding, even if this house is cleared initially.

Slainte · 21/12/2011 21:21

Agree [Sparkling] made me feel really claustrophobic too.

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:22

The neighbours aren't very endearing on the whole.

He is ill, I just wonder if anything can be done?

OP posts:
KalSkirata · 21/12/2011 21:24

I'd hate to live in that village!

Notalone · 21/12/2011 21:25

The neighbours all talk about having a fantastic community spirit but they don't have this spirit when it comes to this man.

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:25

Oh no they are going to see the awful garden!!!!

OP posts:
hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:26

Those villagers are a nightmare Confused

I think he should at least clear his garden up because of the smell/rats.

shrinkingnora · 21/12/2011 21:26

I actually want to move there so I can have a REALLY messy garden. They're horrible. Shades of Margot.

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:26

I feel sorry for him, he's sitting in his hole with his boiled eggs. Sad

OP posts:
jumpyjan · 21/12/2011 21:27

Awful unchristian people. Have you noticed the man who only wears lavender tops - reckon he's had his colours done!

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:27

Or Hyacinth Bucket.

Oh no ONLY A SILVER!!!

OP posts:
Notalone · 21/12/2011 21:27

Actually looking as that sad man in his house with his boiled aggs makes me want to weep for him. What a lonely life he seems to lead.

hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:27

Sad He can't even go to bed.

All that stuff might fall on him and crush him if he's not careful.

hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:28

ha, ha, the village hasn't won their competition Grin

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 21/12/2011 21:29

I'd rather sit in his house with him even though I wouldn't fit than with that other absolute wanker. He is a sad/sick man with deep psychological issues who is probably, sadly, beyond help :(

hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:29

haven't

Sparklingbaubles · 21/12/2011 21:29

He's getting some help. Smile

OP posts:
hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:29

Is he sick though, or is it just a personality defect? Would an eccentric be classed as ill?

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 21/12/2011 21:30

The 'cooking' would terrify me - imagine getting stuck in there if there was a fire :(

shrinkingnora · 21/12/2011 21:30

I have personal experience of a hoarder. It was very upsetting after he died to discover that he had been sleeping in his chair for years and could not go upstairs or cook any food because he couldn't get to those parts of the house.

shrinkingnora · 21/12/2011 21:31

It's about good intentions, generally - I'll keep this because I can mend it/use it/refer back to it/ cut interesting articles from it. So it comes from a nice place.

hiddenhome · 21/12/2011 21:31

I worry about dh becoming like this Confused I fell over some of his stuff the other day and did my arm in Sad He goes pale when I suggest clearing out. Nothing like this bloke though.
