or in other words...what do you find the least intolerable! for some reason i can't stand waybaloo - it gets right on my tits and i just dont know why. i think show me show me is great, both ds's love it - and at half an hour that is precious time for mummy to get on with stuff! and anything with justin fletcher seems to hold their attention too so i'm a fan!
any other gems??

DS (3) is a fan of Octonauts, Pingu, 3rd and Bird, and Charlie & Lola (plus Peppa Pig on channel 5) and Little Human Planet. He also likes Chuggington but I hate it.

Most other programmes I can't stand (Zingzillas, Show me Show me, Gigglebiz, Mr Bloom, Green Balloon Club) and thankfully although he will dance to the theme tunes he can't like them that much because he will get distracted by his toys and not complain when I say has to turn it off to eat tea or lunch or whatever.

We both hate Waybaloo and everything's Ro-oh-oh sie.

It sounds like he watches masses but it's just that we tend to watch small amounts at different times of day so we see a variety of programmes.

I liked Pocoyo when he was a baby but he never got into it. I think I like Tinga-Tinga tales and Rastamouse more than him too.

startail · 20/06/2011 10:10

Not one mention of the insanity which is " In The Night Garden"
My DDs are 10 &13 and when the big girl world gets a bit dull or stressful they'll watch Shaun the sheep or laugh their heads of at ITNG.
Does it make anymore sense to it's target age group or are they as confused as us?

bagpusss · 20/06/2011 10:15

Balamory and Chuggington

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 20/06/2011 10:18

Hmm DS 2.6 likes...Anything with Justin, so Something Special/out and about and all that, Mr Bloom, Ra Ra the Lion and Come outside :) I ruddy hate show me show me!

Tho he's a big fan of Cartoonito just now, only cause the run hours of Fireman Sam!

babylann · 20/06/2011 10:23

In The Night Garden, Waybuloo and Tellytubbies are DD's (13mo) favourites and therefore my favourites too!

She's obsessed with Upsy Daisy, the Tombliboos and Macka Packa(sp?) and she loves the ninky nonk. She loves the theme music and it's the only show which makes her go completely still and calm for a little while (she's usually super hyper Grin).

Anyway, maybe I've watched it too much, as it's starting to make sense to me now.

PasstheTwiglets · 20/06/2011 10:27

I miss The Shiny Show - that was the Best. Show. Ever.

michelleseashell · 20/06/2011 10:47

We love Waybuloo here. We get a quiet baby when that comes on. My favourite is Gigglebiz. Love Come Outside too. Good old Pippin.

Me Too is banned and so is Balamory. The theme tunes make me feel unwell. Plus I can't bear that woman off Balamory with the triangle face and the square hairdo.

ScarletOHaHa · 20/06/2011 10:50

Love Pui and Chris here. My 4YO still sings 'Hugo monkey'. He loves things with music in them like Pop Shop. Mister Maker kicks Art Attack's butt (Disney Junior)

HappyAsIAm · 20/06/2011 10:57

I'm not getting the lack of love for Green Balloon Club. DS (3 yo) absolutely loves it, and I think its alright too (as childrens programmes go). He would watch that over anything else. But he also likes Balamory (don't get me started on that ...), I Can Cook (I find Katy to be quite patronising when she asks the children questions and is disdainful in her replies), Show Me, Show Me (is Pui pregnant in the current series or just wearing tops that are unflattering?) Come Outside (aaaawwww) and anything with Justin in it.

And I am forever grateful to whoever came up with the concept of advert free childrens programme from 6 am to 7 pm. Forever grateful.

cherryburton · 20/06/2011 11:05

Love DipDap, quite like Come Outside (have learnt all kinds of things!) but most of the rest of it gets right up my nose. I think DS1 (nearly 5) may be on the verge of outgrowing it. Grin

RIPSambuccaKelly · 20/06/2011 11:10

Like: Rastamouse, Grandpa in my Pocket, Louie, 64 Zoo Lane, Something Special /any show with Justin and Show Me Show Me (I really like Poi, although the theme tune is starting to grate a little after hearing it probably 250 times).

I cannot bloody stand ZingZillas (so bloomin' noisy and seems endlessly long). Used to hate Numberjacks and Lazytown. Octonauts does my head in, although DS loves it.

I like the Waybuloo and Night Garden theme tunes (tres relaxing), but the actual programmes are mind-numbing.

Abhor anything vehicle related (e.g. chuffing bloody Chuggington).

RIPSambuccaKelly · 20/06/2011 11:11

The playschool rip-off is Tikkabilla. Love that show Grin

AuntieMonica · 20/06/2011 11:16

I love Buzz and Tell Grin and was more than a little miffed to find Mr Biscuits, Melanie Wiggles and Charles Cheese nicknames already taken when looking for a new one for myself Envy

Don't start me on The Tweenies.......bloody sexist ageist shite

Goldenbear · 20/06/2011 11:26

In this house we Love Octonauts, Nuzzle and Scratch and gigglebiz!

Peetle · 20/06/2011 11:37

My twins went off In the Night Garden when they were about 2 but now, approaching 4, they've got quite into it again though they find it hysterical for some reason. At the start, after the Ninky Nonk/Pinky Ponk debate has been settled they run round the house impersonating Derek Jacobi's "Oh No, it's the Ninky Nonk" in posh voices and fits of laughter. Surreal.

They are quite vocal in their dislike of Zingzillas which I find amusing as they're both quite into music generally. Anything animated with animals (64 zoo lane is a favourite, as is Tinga Tinga) is very popular, as is Rastamouse of course.

catbus · 20/06/2011 11:51

'Octonocks' is the only winner in this house, along with Rastamouse. I was mortified when they re introduced the Tweenies: that will be 12 long years of my ears bleeding listening to Jake et al..bleeuuuggghh.

In the Shite Garden is toe curling, as is Waybulloo, Zingzillas. I quite like Tinga Tales or whatever it's called. Come Outside is great for a laugh, watching Mabel lolloping off after the dog and tutting at ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING it does. Has me in stitches. I am fortunate though, in so far as we watch TV through iplayer on the wii, so I can be selective as you like..

jbcbj · 20/06/2011 11:52

i cannot deal with ITNG - i was devastated last week when DD demonstrated that she could name all the characters..... I worked so hard to keep it out of the house! Woulf quite happily erase Grandpa in my Pocket from the world.

Love I Can Cook, Nina and the Neurons, Something Special, Charlie and Lola (lovelovelove C&L, so does DD thankfully! so pleased that it's back on at -witching- bedtime hour).

jbcbj · 20/06/2011 11:53

oops, messed up witching! Blush

TheNextMrsBuble · 20/06/2011 11:57

DS (13mo) seems to be loving Show Me Show Me and ITNG, both of which I love too. I also love Nuzzle & Scratch (frankly hilarious and I so would do the Captain Blush), Zingzillas and Timmy Time. And the new advert showing the kids doing the number raps is joyous to watch.

Sorry but cannot abide Rastamouse, Grandpa in my Pocket, Waybaloo or Balamory. They all drive me nuts!

weedle · 20/06/2011 12:02

DD has Waybuloo and The Wotwots (not cbeebies but brill!) queued up on the Sky+. Can't stand anything with Justin - he's televisional Marmite to parents I've noticed. ITNG hurts my head. What is with the sudden growth spurts and shrinkage?!?!

GoodnightNobody · 20/06/2011 12:22

Come Outside, my children have loved Pippin and have learned a thing or two about sewege/ soap making etc.

It's just such a comforting, gentle programme.

GoodnightNobody · 20/06/2011 12:27

ew err. Perhaps Come Outside not so gentle. In today's episode it seems Pippin's being booted out to live in a kennel- surely not? How could yuo Aunty Mabel?

Skillbo · 20/06/2011 12:27

Love Show Me Show Me, takes me back to before computers and stuff when kijds had to use their imaginations, wonderful! Also we love Small Potatoes (only theme tune I've heard DD sing!), ITNG and, obligatory for all I think, Peppa Pig.

Another surreal one though is Koko, Jakamoto, Toto (I think) only seen it twice as never know when it's on but just fab and weird, definitely more for me than DD.

Missmodular · 20/06/2011 13:10

Yes forgot to mention Tweenies, Lazytown and Chuggington are also banned in our house - all utterly charmless and annoying.

Love some of the Milkshake programmes though - Peppa Pig, WotWots, Ben and Holly... all spoiled by the Lelli Kelly adverts unfortunately.

theliverpoolone · 20/06/2011 13:11

To whoever asked earlier - yes, Pui's pregnant. Baby due July. This series was filmed a few months ago. We love Show Me Show Me here, and Something Special. DD loves Gigglebiz but I hate it!
