or in other words...what do you find the least intolerable! for some reason i can't stand waybaloo - it gets right on my tits and i just dont know why. i think show me show me is great, both ds's love it - and at half an hour that is precious time for mummy to get on with stuff! and anything with justin fletcher seems to hold their attention too so i'm a fan!
any other gems??

Dd (14 months) loves all the theme tunes and any singing but is not really interested in watching the programmes yet. She does love one with a real dog on - is that big barn farm?

I cringe at Chris and Poi on show me show me but I can see it's a good one for little ones. they probably went to RADA poor things.

What's that weird one set in London with a Scottish train driver and Granny Murrey? Why are they all scottish? And what's with the weird song about the river? Confused

RalphGnu · 20/06/2011 08:11

Ah, you mean 'Me Too', Countess. I had to google the words to the theme tune as it was stuck in my head in a continuous loop. I must admit to enjoying watching it, and making DP watch it too, just so I can point out how awful the acting is. It's quite compelling!

bebejones · 20/06/2011 08:13

My poor DD only gets to watch stuff I don't mind! Current faves here are: Dipdap (which she adores & I think is very funny)
RaaRaa the Noisy Lion (if you can get over LKs voice)
Show Me Show Me
Charlie & Lola (we are both huge fans :o)

Charley Bear really annoys me for some reason. So does bloody Squigglet!!! Aaaarrrgh Squiggle pads & Squiggle sticks???? NO!!! Paper & Crayons FFS!!!!! Grandpa in my pocket, Tommy Zoom & Octonauts just don't interest DD thankfully! :o

MrsKitty · 20/06/2011 08:16

Show me show me (we love Chris and Pui in our house!), octonauts, 3rd and Bird, Something Special and Big and Small.

Liked Little Charley Bear for a while but now find it irritating.

Ds and DS are both more in to films at the moment and we've watched Winnie The Pooh and WallE a million times this month...starting to miss CBeebies!

hester · 20/06/2011 08:19

Granny Murray is also way too young. She looks about 37.

I don't like Show Me Show Me but I do love Chris and Pui. They need a better vehicle.

arghh · 20/06/2011 08:23

octonauts firm favourite, charlie and lola, charlie bear. nuzzle and scratch are bannished!!!!

sophe29 · 20/06/2011 08:25

I used to love some of the filler bits inbetween the programmes. There used to be a great poem/dance done by Chris (from show me show me) called Hugo monkey. Look it up on You tube as it is fab and very catchy. I put it on my iphone to entertain the kids when out and about.
I love it.
Rest of CBeebies drives me nuts and we now watch disney junior - still no adverts but less condescending than others.(but you need cable/sky) Also now have Art Attack on which I used to love and now my DD does too!

pastamouse · 20/06/2011 08:26

DS (19mo) loves Something Special with the passion of a thousand firey suns and would quite happy watch the DVD on repeat all day and night long if I let him.

As it is it lets me drink tea & read the paper get a few quick chores done in peace.

Mr Bloom, numberjacks & ITNG also big hits - and I personally love Nina and the neurones, as am a bit of a science geek and am trying to get DS to like it Blush

EightiesChick · 20/06/2011 08:32

Octonauts are favourite, plus Chuggington, Waybuloo (my DS likes to do 'yogas' with them Smile), Mr Maker, Charlie & Lola. DS also loves Harry & His Bucket Full of Dinosaurs (shhh, I know it's on Five)

Dislikes: Kerwhizz, Mighty Mites, Buzz and Tell, Everything's Rosie.

Don't ever remember actually watching Show Me, Show Me, but when the trailer comes on my DS gets excited and will say 'Show Me, Show Me!' so he seems to like it.

Forget who brought this up but yes, Hamble was a very odd name for a doll. Never understood that...

MooseyMoo · 20/06/2011 08:50

Oconauts, Chuggington, Raa Raa The Noisy Little Lion and Timmy Time. DD loves them all and allows me to eat my breakfast in peace in the morning!

Ciske · 20/06/2011 08:57

I must be the only person who likes Grandpa in My Pocket. Other than that 64 Zoo Lane is very tolerable, especially in contrast with Charlie and Lola which is just plain annoying.

CharlotteBronteSaurus · 20/06/2011 09:05

i love charlie and lola, 3rd and bird, and 64 zoo lane. also come outside, but for some reason we never seem to catch that anymore (normally watch late pm)

i can't stand Mr. Bloom's faux Mancunian accent, and both Big Cook and Little Cook look like they're crying on the inside, like Krusty the Clown

MumblingRagDoll · 20/06/2011 09:10

Love anything Justin does, HATE Waybuloo, adore Balamory and Me Too! I just like the characters and where they're filmed.

3rd and Bird, Charlie and Lola...theyre great...but hate Might Mites...it depresses me!

BornToFolk · 20/06/2011 09:15

DS will watch anything except Waybuloo, which is fine with me as I hate it as well!
We both love Show Me Show Me (especially as it lasts for half an hour - bliss!), Come Outside and Mr Bloom's Nursery. And Something Special.

DP really likes Mighty Mites...hmmm, I wonder why...

Halbwahrheiten · 20/06/2011 09:23

We both love Show Me Show Me as well, and Mr Blooms Nursery.
DS1 loves Something Special, and I have great respect for Justin as children's entertainer, but he makes me feel like a couple of my braincells die every time I see one of his shows.
I like charlie and lola and big cook, little cook.

Share the hate for Squiglet (It's called a circle, FFS!), Waybuloo, Kerwhizz (Like the comment about that boy being ornamental rather than functional :o ) and Mighty Mites. Also, Balamory. That woman is just plain scary and annoying.

JasonandtheAgaNorks · 20/06/2011 09:28

In total agreement with praise of Show Me Show Me and Something Special, they really keep my youngest two entertained.

Also agree that Waybuloo is dreadful - actually have to turn it off. Big Cook Little Cook drives me bonkers (everything they cook looks vile)... Find Me Too and Balamory and their starring characters plain creepy.

SpangledPandemonium · 20/06/2011 09:30

Love Small Potatoes. They should release a CD

KvetaBarry · 20/06/2011 09:50

Pingu and Timmy Time here - DS adores them both (he's 20 months). He loves Come Outside too, just for the dog!

DH (34 years) likes Rastamouse and 3rd + Bird too :o

moonbells · 20/06/2011 09:58

Octonauts, though we have recently gone back to demanding Postman Pat again.

I am one of those dreadful mothers Blush who followed the instructions recommendations not to let DC watch the haunted fishtank until past 2yo, and who still restricts viewing. So we only watch a few shows anyway. The list is/was Timmy Time, Postman Pat, Chuggington, Octonauts, Guess with Jess and Numberjacks. Tellingly DS is better at remembering numbers than letters, so I think I'll have to start collecting Alphablocks too.

MorelliOrRanger · 20/06/2011 09:59

We love Show Me Show Me, Charley Bear, Zingzillas, Something Special, Mr Bloom's Nursery, Chuggington and Charlie and Lola.

I can't frigging stand Nuzzle and Scratch, Mighty Mites (actually I can't stand Sarah Jane) and Grandpa In My Pocket.

There is a show on Cbeebies which is a basic rip of of Play School and even has one of the presenters from it. I can't remember what its called though, but it also has Paul and Sarah Jane presenting at times.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 20/06/2011 10:01

Something Special because 18 month old DD has just stood in front of the TV and watched an entire episode. I dont think she has been that still since she was a newborn.

Missmodular · 20/06/2011 10:04

I have DDs aged 2 and 4. They love Mister Maker, DipDap, Pingu, Charlie and Lola, Show Me Show Me, Louie, Come Outside, Octonauts and Nina and the Neurons all of which I think are great too, real quality kid's programming.

They also quite like Nuzzle and Scratch, Grampa in my Pocket, Mr Bloom, Gigglebiz, Numberjacks, Big City Park, 3rd and Bird, Squiggle It and Something Special, but can take or leave.

I forbid them to watch Waybuloo, Kerwhizz, Balamory, Mighty Mites, Green Balloon Club, Me Too and Tommy Zoom, I think they're awful.

Sorry, but I don't know how anyone could fancy Mr Bloom - eugh!

memphis83 · 20/06/2011 10:06

Mr blooms Nursery is great, ds loves it, also like Raa Raa the noisy lion, hate most other things the Zingzillas and Wayballoo's freak me out, Wont have Justin/Mr Tumble on in our house I find him very odd.
