I was out with a friend last night who's 39 and is in the grip of a massive mid life crisis, wanting her youth and beauty back. It's really making her incredibly depressed and she'd applied to that cosmetic surgery show 'make me 10 years younger'. Is it possible to grow old gracefully when Madonna shoves her surgery in everyone's faces, upping the bar for other 40 somethings and consumerism tries to open up a gaping pit of insecurity, need and despair in all of us? I don't hate women, just that.

And if Madonna's not doing it to attract men (and I'd say she was) then just who is she doing it for? Women??

She had a face-lift from a surgeon in Miami- my cousin's sil went to the same one just after early last year.

Okay, okay, I take it all back. There really is a fountain of youth and all celebreties have drank from it. None of them have had surgery. It's just magic!

The surgeon hasn't gone around 'telling' everyone or you would have read it in Hello or something similar. The sil is a CEO in pharmacy industry in South Florida and was in 'the know' somehow.

I know it's true and I saw the results of her face-lift which is amazing. Not for me though!

Michael Jackson's not had any either. It's a skin disorder (honest!) and lots of make-up. You will never find a surgeon that owns up to having worked on Michael Jackson. (wonder why that is?)

And of course I am naturally youthful myself!

Sorry, but Madonna doesn't even wear clothes that a trendy teen or 20-something would wear. They're far cooler. She's geared up like a 9 or 10 year old would be round where I live
