Sorry to disappoint you RatherBeOnThePea, but it has been completely americanised. I watched it online at the week end and was heart broken. First episode has already aired in the States, and it looks like its going to be beased over there. Am actually quite disappointed with Russell T Davies, particularly as I thought we would get the series first. It was quite a good episode if you are not expecting the old format, but I think for fans of the original it smacks slightly of selling out

The owen harper thing got me too teejwood.

It was very 'action packed' - that was the only american factor I noticed really, I love torchwood.

Why are they trying to kill gwen. Why is she in hiding?

WhoWhoWhoWho - we thought that about the baby as well! Her expression as Gwen grabbed the gun, put the ear muffs on her and started shooting was all cute and smiley!

Am I the only person who thinks this is completely awful. As soon as American money is involved it is all completely unrealistic shoot-em-ups, so much the same as lots of American telly.

Also what is the point of pointing guns at people who cannot die? Am very disappointed in this, when you compare it to the chilling brilliance that was the Children of Earth story.

I loved it, but would have liked some more brits in the cast. Liked the humour, shocking burnt out winky head, super slick fantastic chopper/landrover beach chase.
Oh the only other thing that annoyed me were the deeply unsuitable shoes the CIA woman and the doctor wore. Who the hell does a shift in 27" platforms?

Karma I totally agree with you - it seemed really overdramatized. Way too much action in it.

The beach scene with the helicopter and all the shooting was so over the top. Plus the 'This Season' was like a whole other episode. Will this one story last the whole 10 weeks then?
