Is it just me, or is it really just not funny? I feel almost embarrassed watching it - it is so cringy!

Her father was on the ship that got bombed in the Falklands and was badly burnt.

shakey1500 · 02/02/2011 21:39

I stumbled across her (not literally) channel hopping a couple of months ago. Thought she was bloody hilarious. I even put my netbook to one side Shock

pink4ever · 02/02/2011 22:01

I love Miranda(major girl crush) and to all the posters on here who dont like her....watch your backsAngry.

pink4ever · 02/02/2011 22:02

Asked MNHQ to do a live web chat with her if possible. Is anyone listening at mn towers....anyone?.

melikalikimaka · 02/02/2011 22:11

Sorry won't be joining in on that chat. Don't bother MNHQ.

halfcaff · 02/02/2011 22:16

Funny. Middle class parody. Funny.

senua · 02/02/2011 22:29

I agree with the others who say that her cringe-yness is what is so good about her. It is not smart-alec, snide-y, put-downs, like so much 'comedy'Hmm is these days. Her jokes are aimed at herself and do not involve having a go at others.
It's safe, old fashioned, good-natured stuff. Reminds me of Morecombe & Wise.

Thingiebob · 02/02/2011 22:58

I think she is a funny comedienne, but her show is really hit and miss.

rupaul · 02/02/2011 23:22

mostly miss

said · 02/02/2011 23:35

I'd assumed taffetasplat was being sarcastic with the "wipes away tears" stuff but seems she wasn't.

In the like her, show is crap camp

Missile · 03/02/2011 06:26

Hideous programme, DH and I dont even crack a single smile.....no longer watch it!

Biscuitscoco · 03/02/2011 07:36

Miranda herself is charming and sweet. The script of the show is AWFUL. Some of the acting is teeth achingly cringy. Most of it is hugely unfunny. Comedy for people who laugh at slapstick and Terry and June.

FluffyMummy123 · 03/02/2011 07:39

Agree.
It's just shit

misspollysdolly · 03/02/2011 07:58

I think she is fab Smile and love her show - half an hour of joy for me...

Having said that I also quite liked Terry and June...so what do I know... Grin

I hate Ken Dodd, in the same way, I just don't get her!

noddyholder · 03/02/2011 09:00

She has been on telly all morning with her bloody silly hair

melikalikimaka · 03/02/2011 09:08

What channel so I can watch?

FellatioNelson · 03/02/2011 10:51

I can't bear Ken Dodd either, and I wouldn't even put him on the same planet comedically as Miranda.

MooMooFarm · 03/02/2011 11:46

I don't get it either, but then I don't get most sit-coms! The canned laughter, the one liners 'disguised' as conversation - bleugh. The other one everybody but me seems to love is 'not going out' - urgh.

But I do have a sense of humour - and to prove it - I loved The Office, Green Wing, Spaced, Peep Show, Alan Partridge - so there Grin

LifeInTheSlowLane · 03/02/2011 13:16

I love Miranda! She makes me cry with laughter - such fun!! Grin

Yvonne3510 · 03/02/2011 14:29

I think it's hilarious - and I really like Gary!

MrsDeidreIppy · 03/02/2011 14:51

It is what I call hilarious. Theres some bits that I can watch over and over and laugh!

MrsDeidreIppy · 03/02/2011 14:53

Have potato for hair!

ziptoes · 03/02/2011 15:00

bear with, bear with.....

hilarious!

aquavit · 03/02/2011 15:27

the script is mostly pants, but I think it is supposed to be - that's one of the jokes, no? - so (e.g.) take very amusing one-liner ('bear with, bear with', 'what I call a...') and turn it into catchphrase that's just NOT funny because it's repeated so often - and somehow that becomes funny again.

Well either that, or it's just pants.

But there are also some unrepeated one-liners that are utter genius (on tights: 'one size does NOT fit all').

And she is just absolutely fucking hilarious. So I LOVE it.
