it could grow on me..intriguing so far!

I LOVED it - loved the little references to some of the original SH stories (A Scandal in Bohemia, A Study in Scarlet, The Five Orange Pips), thought Moriarty was great.

And those final lines - "everything I have to say has already crossed your mind"/"then possibly my answer has crossed yours" are straight from the originals - although I think they were phrased slightly differently last night.

YCTT - in the books, Watson does meet a woman and goes on to marry her - SH and Watson share the flat in Baker Street in the early stories and later on Watson lives with his wife elsewhere. So not a crush, more of a fascination.

I'm so gutted this is over now! I really hope they make some more because it's soooo fab

I was wondering who they would get to play Moriarty and that guy was brilliant! Truly creepy man!

I am rather in love with BC now - looking forward to seeing him in future stuff. I imagine he'll be rocketed to the fore from now on. And good on Martin Freeman too. Difficult to hold your own in that kind of thing but he did a fantastic job

Loved loved loved it. Thought Lestrade super dishy and BC and Martin Freeman were fabulouso. Its got to be a cert for a second series surely? It seems to have gone down really well everywhere.

hmm , not sure what to make of it . Felt an hour and half too long tbh as it lost momentum for a while 2/3 way through. Was Moriaty in any other roles than IT man , this episode or last ? Where have we seen the lab girl before, Casualty/Holby or that series about the 3 maids perhaps

I thought the final episode was great but what was all that about 'the whole thing has a distinctly Czech feel'? The envelope, the Golem, and Ms Wenceslas the art gallery woman - but nothing more was drawn from this (unless I missed it) Do you think it's a teaser for something in the next series or am I reading far too much into it? And was the scene in the dead gallery attendant's room supposed to look like a Dutch interiors painting with the mirror and the lighting or do I really need to get out more?! Can't wait for the next series.

Yes it looked like this a bit. Well, that's what it reminded me of anyway.

I wonder if the new series will open with SH saying "well we got out of that one by..... Watson" or if it will carry on where it ended....

I bet the Semtex in the last scene turns out to be fake. Would Moriarty really make himself that vulnerable?
