Tattoo on the Face

I'm considering getting a very small tattoo on my face. Q1: What are your thoughts on facial tattoos generally?
I'm considering getting a small star tattoo beside and below the eye at the top of the cheek bone. Q2: What are your opinions on this? If my partner had an identical tattoo on his face, in exactly the same place as I have one what would your views be on this?

IvanaPee
I asked because evidently I am interested generally in the opinions of others.

I wouldn’t think jail etc, but I would think that person lived for the moment, because they would onviously( to me) think “ I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it” about possibly regretting it in the future.

My best f doesn’t plan and does things for the feel of the moment. I’m much duller and steadier. I can see the downsides of both ways of being. There isn’t a right way. And more to the point we couldn’t behave like each other if we tried!

Unless you already have an established career where facial tattoos would be an asset or at least acceptable, then I'd say getting one is a Bad Idea.

I agree with PP, a small tat by the corner of the eye looks like a prison tat, even if it's not.

starzig · 31/03/2019 18:40

Farters - not a tattoo in general
There are many tattoos that I like. Many that suggest different things about lifestyle.
But OP did ask for our honest opinion on a specific tattoo and single mum on benefits was the the first thought that came into my head ehen I visualized it (whether she is or not)

IvanaPee · 31/03/2019 18:43

Well, obviously you’re interested in people’s opinions 🙄🙄

But why are you interested? You could be considering it, you could be a “journalist” (I use the term loosely) hunting for clickbait...

SciFiScream · 31/03/2019 18:47

I wouldn't think anything of it. I'd want to get to know you first before making any decisions. A star sounds quite nice actually.

I don't think I'd like writing in your face, but again would want to get to know you before making a decision.

anitagreen · 31/03/2019 19:08

Tear drops are a sign that you have killed someone a guy I know has 3 he's currently doing 33 years in prison he's out in about 27 🌚

strawberrypenguin · 31/03/2019 19:21

Sorry OP I don't think tattoos on the face are ever a good idea.
I love tattoos and have one myself but I'm afraid I'd judge anyone with one on their face.
What about behind your ear?

Also would this be your first tattoo. Most reputable artists won't tattoo faces as your first one.

You are so right. Live for now! Life throws you some curve balls no one gets a home run every time.
Enjoy your life because if you want to move forward fearlessly in life you can't stumble over what's behind you. If you want solutions not problems you learn from the past but you don't look back you look forward. Your happiness comes first.

Hmm
FryingTonight · 31/03/2019 20:02

You cv should show that you haven't been in prison unless you blatantly lie. But you will be found out sooner or later.

Hollytruelove · 31/03/2019 20:13

BTW I have never been in Prison and nowhere near it.
I have never had any reason to.

But if the matching tats really mean something between them why shouldn't they. After all, tats are personal. But interesting to see the differing opinions. Yes, some of the comments are way too harsh not knowing or seeing the person in the flesh. Usually, the overall image of the person gives a better impression to the interpreter rather than just one aspect of them. E.g a man in a well-tailored suit & tie with a star on his face vs a man dressed in ripped jeans, rock t-shirt, punk hair, dm boots and a hoodie.

Maryjoxk · 31/03/2019 20:21

If I’m being brutally honest, I’d think you were a single mum with 8 kids all with different fathers, junkie and troublemaker. The kind of person on ‘Benefits Street’

hopll · 31/03/2019 20:22

Well I must be a jailbird too because I would certainly go for it! We just happen to be more daring, open minded and edgy than most. Who cares what these mums think, it's your body I reckon you should go for It! You only have one life and one face and at the end of the day who has the right to judge and belittle anyway

Sybelline · 31/03/2019 20:23

Grin [grin Grin

FryingTonight · 31/03/2019 20:25

Starzig
I don't understand how that thought came to you immediately. Each to their own I suppose. My thought would be not to assume anything and just wonder why, whilst at the same time not judging.

IvanaPee · 31/03/2019 20:27

😂😂😂

FryingTonight · 31/03/2019 20:29

hopll
Unfortunately, some people have more than one face Grin, but you are right and I agree with all that you said.

hopll · 31/03/2019 20:30

Sorry but most people on this thread (I'm not saying all!) are clearly very closed minded and..vanilla. Not saying it's bad, just the way some people are

hopll · 31/03/2019 20:30

@FryingTonight thank you!

Omzlas · 31/03/2019 20:39

Face tattoos look tacky IMO, I've never seen a single one that looks nice

Nowordsleft · 31/03/2019 20:45

I don’t think anyone is going to say anything different to what’s already been said.

Hollytruelove · 31/03/2019 21:03

@Omzlas all opinions on here are totally respected however just to add
To what you said: Although Most Face tattoos are frowned upon by so many people that see them yet you could say the same about Tattoos on people's ass. Tats on someone's ass are usually frowned upon too by most people and to some people they are called Tramp Stamps yet that tattoo has a specific purpose and sentimental, personal value to the person who gets them so it's no different on someone's face it's down to preference as to where they want body art to be. Having a tattoo does not determine their worth as a person at all just like money doesn't at all as you can't determine if someone is good or bad by face value. It takes intelligence and respect for others to look past the exterior and discover what is within before a judgement is finalised but there is nothing wrong with having your own opinion generally.
