I'm considering getting a very small tattoo on my face. Q1: What are your thoughts on facial tattoos generally?
I'm considering getting a small star tattoo beside and below the eye at the top of the cheek bone. Q2: What are your opinions on this? If my partner had an identical tattoo on his face, in exactly the same place as I have one what would your views be on this?

Partners having the other's name tattooed on their arm or arse is pretty tacky but it's FAR preferable to a couple having matching face tattoos.

Just think it would look so tacky and shite really. Why would you get it on your face? Just get it somewhere else

What do facial tattoos near the eyes mean in the prison world? I’ve only seen rappers and women in OITNB with tear drop tatts. What do they mean?!!

But as I said it does depend completely on the size. I only say that because I’ve only seen extreme face tattoos on those prison documentaries.

I have 6 tattoos two of them large and I regret them all, especially now my baby is poking at them with inquisitive eyes

To be fair I've got lots of tattoos and piercings and haven't seen many facial tattoos apart from on my tattooist! I suppose the prison association is fair enough but I think "prison scum" is unpleasant.

Not for me but I certainly wouldn’t be as judgemental as others on this post!

Ok, so with that information, don’t get the tattoo on your eye OP.

It would depend if it was well done or not! If it was dainty and nice I wouldn't have a problem employing you and first thought certainly wouldn't be about whether you'd been to prison or were on benefits! It would appear there are an awful lot of judgemental, closed minded people on here!

Yes. I do know about prison tattoos and their definitions. FYI.
Some examples:
Teardrop: Used to show other gang members you had committed a murder. Also to show the loss of a family member or close friend. Showing you have been raped whilst in prison, or that you have had a sad life. Lots of other reasons too.

Spiderweb: One of the oldest prison code tattoos. Represents an inmate trapped in prison like a spider trapping its prey. Usually on the elbow as the prisoner has been sitting around with their elbows on the table for so long that the spider has made it's home there. The number of concentric circles on the web can signify how many years spent in prison.

Three dots: In a triangle shape on the hand between the thumb and forefinger is associated with gang culture. Most used in Hispanic gang members, for whom it signifies 'Mi Vida Loca' (My Crazy Life). In Germany, it simply means they have served time. There are various other meanings.

Tombstone: A reminder that time is short and we need to make the best of our lives. Also as a way of warding off death. A symbol of life, death and rebirth. Represents someone who has a life sentence.

I think we all make snap judgments and i suspect no one would ecer say these things to the OP's face but if she actually wants to know what people will think they are doing her a favour.

I actually love tattoos. To me they’re art (as long as they’re done well and don’t have negative connotations or aren’t football crests etc.) DH has beautiful tribal tattoos that are relevant to his culture.

What would I think? I'd think you'll be googling laser removal within 5 years.

And matching ones are even more tragic.
