Tattoo on the Face

I'm considering getting a very small tattoo on my face. Q1: What are your thoughts on facial tattoos generally?
I'm considering getting a small star tattoo beside and below the eye at the top of the cheek bone. Q2: What are your opinions on this? If my partner had an identical tattoo on his face, in exactly the same place as I have one what would your views be on this?

Don't you get one for each of your victims?

I really wouldn't do it, you could have small stars literally anywhere on your face and they would be fine.

lunar1 · 31/03/2019 14:27

Ffs! Anywhere except...

TheQueef · 31/03/2019 14:27

Pansy unless it was a cultural tribal tattoo the only other common facial tattoos have traditionally been the prison code ones. Especially having it in the same area. It's not a character judgment.

pejorativelyspeaking · 31/03/2019 14:28

@Chocolateisfab the revers name thing-he might be a hairdresser/barber x

InsertFunnyUsername · 31/03/2019 14:38

What job do you have OP? That would be my only concern, as you can tell by some of the replies people will automatically judge you as "scum"

But no, I've met a lot of people through my work with facial tattoos/body mods and i can't say it kept me up at night at most i thought ouch that looks fucking painful

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 31/03/2019 14:43

I'd think you were lacking in intelligence and rough as a bear's arse, to be brutally honest.

cliquewhyohwhy · 31/03/2019 14:43

A big fat no from me.

BorsetshireBlew · 31/03/2019 14:45

I'd think you were a stupid pair tbh

Askma · 31/03/2019 14:48

The only people with facial tattoos and jobs that I have ever met have all worked in tattoo parlours.
This is anecdotal evidence only.
Do you work in a tattoo parlor? If so would probably fit in ok, although not to my personal aesthetic.
Do you work anywhere else? Much less likely to be ok.

Sybelline · 31/03/2019 14:51

I wouldn't think you were scum or anything like that but depending on other factors i might think you were a bit hard, and I would definitely think 'Oh my God, what possessed her to do that?'. That's what I always think when I see a face tattoo. Don't do it.

Bonkersblond · 31/03/2019 14:54

How old are you, I'd be thinking about years to come when wrinkles appear, will it distort, will it look like a dirty mark, it be a no from me as you won't be able to hide it.

idwc · 31/03/2019 14:59

Op, really sorry but a huge number of people will judge you harshly for it and make assumptions about you and this will affect you in areas you won't want it to e.g. getting a job (unless of course you want a job somewhere like a tattooists!)

Oblomov19 · 31/03/2019 15:04

Please don't do it. Have a tattoo, anywhere, but not the face.

Aimily · 31/03/2019 15:07

I'm not usually a judgemental person and have a lot of tattoos myself, but I'd say the same as pps, jail related tattoo... unless you work in a tattoo shop, although from the op I doubt that, I'd suggest nothing above the collor of a shirt/blouse, my highest is on the nape of my neck, and having short hair, clothing dependant it's always visable.

Jaffacakebeast · 31/03/2019 15:08

Face and hands on a woman are both no’s from me, anywhere else. I think they look cheap and chavvy, I wouldnt employ some1 with either, male or female, but I think they look cheaper on women

TemporaryPermanent · 31/03/2019 15:08

There's a difference between treating someone badly because of the way they choose to present themselves - which I was certainly taught not to do - and not having an opinion about it.

Face tattoos are scary. They are way outside any cultural norm. They suggest people who at least at some point have been living an extreme life with other extreme people. I don't apologise for treading very warily around people with face tattoos.

palomapear · 31/03/2019 15:24

My opinion is you are a wind-up merchant.

Hollytruelove · 31/03/2019 15:27

Not if you knew that wasn't relevant because you have your own business.

OP posts:
origamiunicorn · 31/03/2019 15:27

I'm not sure this is real, where is the OP?

Hollytruelove · 31/03/2019 15:35

Silversky70
The person getting one may be setting up their own business so would not be interested in whether or not it could effect their employment. Certain types of jobs where you would expect it would be unacceptable but there are other jobs where it would be accepted.

Insomnibrat · 31/03/2019 15:44

If you want one so much, wait a year and see how you feel about it in 12 months time.....if you're still as passionate then ok, but you might save yourself a lifetime of regret.

Hollytruelove · 31/03/2019 16:02

Pansydansy
That's a very honourable and respectable response. I agree 100%. That's the best way to be.

DarlingLittleBabyName · 31/03/2019 16:06

OP, I actually quite like tattoos. in fact I have one myself, the initals of my DP and three children on my wrist. BUT it is a dainty and small tattoo!! please don't get one on your face for your own good, it would be so hard for you to get a job/change jobs, most likely you will regret it when you are older! keep your beautiful face clean of any tattoos! x

Duster12 · 31/03/2019 16:13

What makes you think the business will be successful Hmm Get this tattoo once you're set up for life. Now is not the time. They don't even look good Confused and i'm someone who is obsessed with tattoos.

FryingTonight · 31/03/2019 16:16

There's some interesting responses here. Prison tats are specific designs not location on the body and a star afaik is not associated with prison. I know and have met a few people with facial tattoos. Personally I do not judge unless there's other evidence to go with it. Maybe it's the solo star that may cause misconceptions. A pattern or flow of say three stars different sizes in a row for example - would that give a different impression?
