In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

Esher, what are you going to order from Asos?

My blazer from Liberty arrived stuffed and crumpled in a brown envelope, they could do with improving their packaging.

My dd is still in bad form and not eating, I hope this is the end of her teething. She was up at 5 this morning. Delightful.

Hope your family are on the mend, Fleecy Choo, did you go to old Montreal? I liked that area best.

No sign of the NAP sale???

eshermummy · 19/06/2010 23:38

Well they accidentally sent me these (which are v nice!) instead of the lolas I wanted so am going to re-order the lolas I think then see which I prefer.

Also considering a bunch of vest tops - need to find one that will look good with this bought a while ago and as yet unworn .

leather vest

striped vest

snakey vest

Have also been perusing the childrenswear sections (for some reason don't normally think of Asos for the dd's) and think I am going to get a dress for dd2 and a skirt and tshirt for dd1.

I think that ought to do it

Sorry to hear everyone's dc's are poorly - hope they are on the mend.

OllieWollieWoo · 20/06/2010 06:02

Morning ladies!

Hope DD slept through again last night, tracey! And carciofi hope your DD's teething is over for now and you can get some rest. Fleecy, how are things with your family? Hope everyone is better today.

Please send some sunshine OWW, I am back in jeans and longsleeved T-shirt and a big scarf. Enjoy your holidays and report on all your lovely summer outfits please .

esher - Love the Antik Batik sandals but Lolas look nice too. The vests you linked to would be great for your skirt. I am a big fan of racer back tops. Personally not sure about leather for a summer top, but it is hard to tell from the picture. The bikinis are a real bargain and look great. Autumn colours, right? Just clicked (and bookmarked) your holiday destination. It looks like paradise.

LTEC - How was your night out? What did you wear?

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2010 09:12

Morning! Love the Asos stuff Esher! (also really l like the way you can see the clothes on models walking, so much better).

Had an impromtu night in Smithfield last night. There was a high speed bike race, great fun! So fast! Plus a glass of Prosecco and yummy stuff at Carluccio's. Had a really nice time.. Dolce that was first bit of alcohol, luckily I haven't recovered a desire to drink since pg so not too hard not to have it right now.

There are a few dhs that love bikes on here, (dh cycles to work everyday and would buy loads of those no-speed city bikes if he could).

FritziGreenEyes · 20/06/2010 09:34

Quick question before you are all off tomorrow for the NAP sale! There is a sale for Paige jeans on Mon and J Brands on Tue on Buyvip.com (don't know if they have a UK site, too).

Could someone help me with the sizing? Would Paige jeans be similar to Seven? Any particular type of jeans you can recommend?

LetThemEatCake · 20/06/2010 10:38

glad you had a good night Marsha! what did you eat?

thanks for the Dukan info hells - have passed it on. Will be interested to see how she fares!!

sorry to hear that SATC2 was a disappointment tracey

esher - !!!!! Love the ASOS stuff. Shame not to wear that lovely skirt for the want of a top.

Fleecy well done on below 10! I don't dig Nat's body at all. I mean, she looks great, and I admire her obvious fitness and strength but that's not how I want to look ... but probably a more realistic ideal for me than the waifish stuff I aspire to....

lovely time with dh last night . Nowhere swank, just a pub/ restaurant type place. Wore Black Rats with this in black and high patent ankle boots. Dh said I looked like a spider with long skinny legs . It was said affectionately, honest.

MarshaBrady · 20/06/2010 11:05

Excellent! I love the sound of the outfit bet you looked ace.

Ach would love to wear heels again. I slobbed around in mini-skirt, posh thin wool leggings (can't remember name) and many layers on top (Bassike tshirts and jumpers). Felt quite good really.

Nice to be out (although we did have the children with us so not quite out. One very hyper 5 year old high on cake etc)

Oh goodness I had tiramisu, BUT I was in Carluccio's I always have tiramisu in an Italian place. (3 hail marys or something here).

Afraid I glazed over the pound and time thing on the Dukan as it hard without the scales, but think Hells had it covered. (Also if your mum doesn't like non-fat stuff I've been avoiding the non-fat dairy/or the oatbran cakes things and it's been fine).

LetThemEatCake · 20/06/2010 11:13

oh gosh, life's too short not to have treats on a rare night out. I had crab, followed by trout, followed by several spoonfuls of a summer fruits pavlova. All washed down with 1 glass of Prosecco and 2 of white wine ..

too scared to step on the scales this morning and sadly we are about to go swimming so will have to suck the paunch in, methinks!!

OWW Have a lovely time! regular holiday wardrobe updates please!

traceybath · 20/06/2010 12:15

Marsha and LTEC - sounds like you had fun

Esher - loving those bikinis and thanks for the link for holiday - will bookmark it and get a quote from them.

Bea up again in the night but still let DH have lie-in as of course its father's day. Then went for run again - polishes halo!

Feeling quite fat at the moment so am on healthy eating/exercise regime.

Oh did anyone see Lisa Armstrong wearing houlihans in her times column yesterday? Not a good look on her at all - am sure Hells and Choo look way better.

hellsbelles · 20/06/2010 12:43

Marsha & LTEC great that you both had such good nights out.

Esher...love the links.

Tracey - I saw that article (and picture)...for some reason she got a size smaller than normal (she was advised to??!)...I think that was the problem to be honest!

We've had a really lovely morning...baking fairy cakes and grinding coffee beans. We got DH an old fashioned stove top expresso maker and it really does make delicious coffee. There is something so lovely about the whole ritual. And the smell!

blossoming · 20/06/2010 13:49

fritzi, I think Paige are quite generous, like 7. I have Pico, a nice elegant bootcut, low rise. Also Hollywood hills, everyday bootcut, mid rise, but my favourite would be Skyline drive, classic rise peg leg. Not too skinny. Great everyday with flats, not skinny enough I don't think to tuck into boots. Top of the range for me is jbrand pencil leg 912 dark vintage. But not for playgroup.
Love my jeans!!
Now what to wear for the walk??

AllBuggiedOut · 20/06/2010 14:19

Afternoon all

Those of you who are shredding, what is happening to your weight? I'm on about day 5 and am definitely finding level 1 easier than at the start. But my weight is creeping up. I think I probably am eating a little more than usual as it's making me really hungry! But I don't think it's enough to outweigh the calories burnt in the workout. Can somebody tell me it's all because I'm building muscle

Will catch up with links later; had friends over yesterday (amidst all the excitement of the fire over the road); been gardening (in UO combats) and now supposed to be working...

bunjies · 20/06/2010 14:22

OWW - great to hear the holiday has started well - although I hope you're having better weather than us! I am ashamed to say that I am wearing woolly tights under my trews today as well as 2 tops and a cardicoat . Oh, and the wood burner is going! In my defence I do have poor circulation but even so even I acknowledge this is OTT. Perhaps it's because of the extra weight loss recently.

Marsha & Cake - dinner sounds lovely. I haven't eaten fresh crab since I had it in Cornwall about 9 years ago and Tiramisu is one of my mpost favourite desserts ever (along with banoffee pie, syllabub, plum crumble and.....)

Nothing very interesting to report purchases wise although I did get this to go with jeans.

BTW if anyone wants one of those Wonderbra strapless bras there's a couple of styles reduced in Debenhams.

FritziGreenEyes · 20/06/2010 14:24

Thanks blossoming! Will research the styles you like and see if there is anything in the sale tomorrow. Might be best to order different sizes and send the rest back.

allbuggiedout, my weight which had plateaued has gone down 2 lbs since shredding started 2 weeks ago.

Had some celebrations at lunch time for father's day but will make sure dh takes the rest of them to work. Back on the no sugar diet now.

Had a gorgeous walk through lovely countryside. Of course my shoes were heavily complemented!! How bizarre. Everyone else in trainers though.

AllBuggiedOut · 20/06/2010 19:41

Thanks bloss, fingers crossed this is a passing phase then!

Those of you with the purple anglomania or similar, might see if it comes into the nap sale tomorrow. On my screen it looks a true royal purple, but the description saya mauve. Any thoughts? And what size should I get? I am mainly buying size 10s at the moment but nervousness about its clinginess makes me wonder if I will need a medium...

vinauchocolat · 20/06/2010 20:09

fritzi paige sizing is generous, so a size 27 for example is like a size 28 in other brands (from my experience anyway)

abo you could probably get away with a small or medium. I have a VW dress in a medium and it's fine but is looser than it's designed to be iyswim

Agh. Fashion disaster for vin today, lunch with PILs at frightfully exxy place, baby kicked up hiuge fuss, waitress kicked up fuss about buggy, then I realised, horror of horrors, that my top was exposing far too much cleavage to the point where I had to constantly have my arm over my chest and then desperately don a scarf it was honestly fine this morning, but clearly isn't fine unless you pin it or have something under it, which ruins the silhouette somewhat. sMIL typically immaculate in couture dress!

and, used crest whitestrip on teeth this morning while showering, now in agony! so sensitive!

ouchy ouch

eshermummy · 20/06/2010 20:10

Cake - glad you had a good night out, I like the sound of your outfit (and legs like a spider ) .
God, it was freezing here today (altho' sun did come out later) - was back in jeans, long sleeved cotton jumper and Ash hi-tops this am tho' did change shoes to tan glads after lunch as was going for pedi.

After pedi stopped off to uber-swank designer boutique's sale preview which was all 50% off plus an extra 10% for preview invitees and despite having forgotten my invitation card the owner gave me the nod for extra discount so got this DVF dress which I think has been linked to before. Very euro-trash tastic and very leopardy! and these sandals. Both items came in at less than £250 in total so feeling quite virtuous but having bought 4 pairs of (flat) sandals in 4 days methinks the Asos Antik Batiks and/or Lolas might have to go straight back when they arrive.

Tracey - I saw La in her houlihans too and thought they did nothing for her - I am sure that Hells and LTEC look lovely in theirs but I am short and disproportiontely chunky of thigh and I cannot see how adding a pocket to the side of my thigh is going to in any way enhance its proportions! Think Hells is right, LA's Houlihans looked way too tight (looked like she might have a real camel toes if she walked anywhere in them) plus she was wearing killer heels and they still looked a bit so god knows what they'd look like with flats.

Off to look at the Shred on Amazon again.......

eshermummy · 20/06/2010 20:16

Vin, that top is lovely, what did you wear it with?
Shame you felt it was too low cut - maybe it would be ok in evening sans children - always find that tops with slippy shoulders etc too much hard work when dealing with kids as don't need added complication of wardrobe malfunctions!
Sorry your teeth hurt - am too scared to try myself but are they noticeably whiter?

traceybath · 20/06/2010 20:23

Esher - love that dress - quelle surprise

Sorted out my wardrobe earlier and have got loads of shoes/boots to get rid off. Must buy no more shoes/boots that I am not 100% convinced by.

In fact done lots of chores today - dull but quite satisfying.

Vin - I have that loads with tops. I am very short-waisted and just find that tops start off ok and before I know it - I'm practically flashing people.

blossoming · 20/06/2010 20:31

Great dress esher. Would suit your colouring too, no,allbuggiedout?

eshermummy · 20/06/2010 20:39

Thought you might approve Tracey
Are you all set for NAP tomorrow then?
Not sure I will be partaking as have spent rather a lot recently.
