In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

VerityBrulee · 18/06/2010 12:14

Reallygrumpy Congratulations! That is lovely news, hope you are not feeling to bad. The thing I remember most about early pregnancy is my reaction to the smell of dh's morning coffee!

Blossoming That's great news, part time working is perfect, and teachers hours even better

OWW hope you have a fab holiday

MM hope your kitchen is looking lovely

LTEC I think I agree about the boots, you'll never have the chance to wear them in Sydney even if they have the coldest winter in history!

I am finding the resisting of sales very difficult indeed. Lily&Lionel sale on now but needless to say the one I love is not reduced. I have a scarf obsession at the moment

ApuskiDusky · 18/06/2010 12:18

Hello!

Reallygrumpy, congratulations, that's great news!

I am reserving judgement on all things exercise and weight related until I see what I'm left with after this baby is born - I am optimistic about weight I think, as I haven't put on as much weight this time (4 stone last time!), but god knows what shape I'll be in.

BTW - Toast sale starts 9am on 23rd June, seems to be some good discounts, up to 50% off. But no alexa sandals, and the bag I was looking at doesn't seem to be there either.

Probably missed you OWW, but if not have a fab holiday!

VerityBrulee · 18/06/2010 12:19

Poor Tracey broken sleep is the worst. We are having our own sleep issues here as dd has turned into a night owl and didn't go to sleep until 11.30 last night, then was up bright as a button at 7! I'm exhausted, I need more sleep than that.

Anyone have a Matches code? They have some nice scarves.

monkeysmama · 18/06/2010 12:19

NotGrumpy that is wonderful news. Congratulations. Having babies is fantastic! I agree with what everyone else has said re a dress really unless you want to get a nice maxi. I had one I wore for a lot of my pg. I was very proud of my bump though so spent a lot of it in a tight jumpsuit not dissimilar to the one LTEC loves !

On the subject of said jumpsuit I felt rather embarrassed when it arrived a short while ago. Cakey has said how much she loves it and how much it suits her. She is a waif. I am not! This didn't dawn on me until I tried it on and the hidden cup couldn't contain a quarter of one boob. My Wonderbra is at the bottom of my suitcase so am going to take it with me in the vague hope it'll fit with that under it but I am not convinced. The rest of it looks lovely though.

The AB Lolas I have dreamt of for so long have arrived too and I like them even though I think they could do with being a tad larger. They are staying though. I've decided to accept the fact I can't ever wear heels anymore (running after dd) so there is no point taking any on holiday and the Lolas are going to fulfil the evening footwear role. I love the name too. Some Gap jellies came for dd with the same delivery but they are too small. My little star smiled, took the Lolas and said "I try these now. They fit!" That's my girl .

Vin I like your style. I've never dieted but am thinking about the Dukan. I am actually eating prawns as I type though not sure the chilli dip is part of any diet.

Off on the holiday tonight late. Am going to pop over and see my lovely mamma before we leave for wine courage. She thinks I should've refused to go! After many years with my dad doing the whole family thing and then separating she has become very militant about responsibility. I quite respect it actually. She takes her responsibility to those she choses very seriously (me, dd, my sisters etc) but has stopped worrying about everyone else all the time. Her partner's family keep going on these big holidays where they all row all the time and she just won't go. Bit too late for that for me now! And, the important thing is that it's for dd's grandparents. Have to remember that.

Sorry about that rather random outburst .

Roma I love the idea of giving an update on your movements every time you move rooms. It's a bit like that with dd atm. "Where you go mamma? What you do?" She is 2 though so it's excusable.

I'm with Fleecy on the jumpsuits. I am a fan. I do accept though that they need to be worn in the right way. Like everything though really.

Was it you Esher talking about the nasty threads yesterday? I saw some stuff on a Boden thread which made me feel a bit .

Bloss congratulations on the job offer. Sounds tempting.

Where are you Fritzi? The sun is hiding here and I need it to put it's hat on so I can hang out some washing (glam, moi?)

Right, enough chattering from me.

If I don't pop back before I leave (or escape to an Internet cafe and the haven of A&W on MN) have a good week everyone.

MM

blossoming · 18/06/2010 13:03

Have a great holiday monkeysmama, and if it's not so great, breath in for count of 5, and out for a count of 10, think how you'll feel about any outbursts in a month from now, and repeat to yourself 'this too will pass'.

(advice re anger management from times body & soul earlier this week).

OP posts:
vinauchocolat · 18/06/2010 13:19

Have a lovely time monkeysmama, your DD sounds adorable, hopefully they will be so enchanted by her that you don't have to do too much yourself!! And if you do get wound up try and escape for some A&W therapy

verity you are very naughty! Lily & Lionel sale I have far too many scarves, but oh how I love them. Very funny, sent lots of really old ones that I just didn't like to a charity shop not long ago and DP saw them and said 'lots of scarves there, I nearly bought one'. The same has happened with a bag. Can you imagine paying for your own stuff back. Argh!

Romanarama · 18/06/2010 13:55

MM hope it's fun in the end. I think you have to reflect on motivations really. If I had a toxic mil I would be very strict and just refuse visits, at least unless dh took holiday and full responsibility etc. Some of my friends do this and they are very firm. My mil is very kind and loving (as well as completely annoying ) so I just have to put up and shut up - my 'work' subterfuge is going quite well though.

Lily & Lionel hooray! - off to check in a mo, but meanwhile.......

FIND ME CARLA'S DRESS LADIES!!

FritziGreenEyes · 18/06/2010 14:12

MM - Germany. Not known for its sunny climate but today is fab. Yesterday we had torrential rain so I'll make the most of it today. Have changed into shorts and vest and I am going to put on a hat and fifties style white rimmed sunglasses now to rip out some huge nettles in the garden.

Have a good holiday! Roma is my new role model in dealing with MIL: patience, Mumsnet and the a good excuse to get out of the house. My in-laws arrive tomorrow, but they are actually quite sweet and will only stay until Sunday.

hellsbelles · 18/06/2010 14:12

oh I love that too another pic - no articles noting it's designer yet...but I assume there will be soon enough.

Romanarama · 18/06/2010 14:17

I've searched, and it's John Galliano for Dior hells (no accident I'm sure: Brit designer, French house)

But back to price range of not-supermodel/popstar, not-married-to-President-of-France type people, where to look?

AllBuggiedOut · 18/06/2010 14:19

Galliano for Dior apparently Gorgeous!

AllBuggiedOut · 18/06/2010 14:21

Cross posts!

Romanarama · 18/06/2010 14:29

it just doesn't help knowing that does it ABO?

Zembo · 18/06/2010 14:30

Taking of scarves, my fuschia python Lily & Lionel scarf arrived today (Cocosa) and I love it!

Roman Carla's dress would look amazing on you.

Reallygrumpy massive congratulations, hope you're feeling well. Very exciting indeed.

MM and OWW enjoy your hols

Tracey you must be feeling shattered!

Cake I think you'd be really frustrated owning such a gorgeous pair of boots and not having the opportunity to wear them (until A/W and then probably for a very short time) so very wise not to buy IMO.

Bloss job sounds like a great opportunity.I'm lucky in that DH is happy for me to spend everything I earn on whatever I wish . I am however boringly sensible with it!

AllBuggiedOut · 18/06/2010 14:39

At least it makes it an impossibility as opposed to a bank-breaker roman Now to find the Zara copy...

Glad you like your scarf zembo - mine hasn't come yet

Happy holidays oww & mm

If anybody is still looking for red dresses, I fell in love with this earlier.

DolceeBanana · 18/06/2010 15:19

Verity - think this weather has had something to do with our chidren being rather nocturnal. It's been extremely hot and stuffy...but hey, now it's a bit overcast I want the sun back...!

Popped into Bath, and went a bit mad in Space NK...I love the Caudalie range so bought some moisturisers...and Nars lipgloss...a sort of melon shade that's great with a tan.

Seem to be doing better today on Dukan, Hells and Marsha! Have bought quite a few of the ingredients to make the dishes in the book - to alleviate the boredom frankly...just wanting to look teeny in my new VW dress for the wedding! Looking for some heels...although its a country wedding, it will be full of young and glam (highly sucessful) artists and such like, so killer heels but a no no on grass.. want a high v elegant, slim wedge - if that's possible...any suggestions...looking nude shades really...

DolceeBanana · 18/06/2010 15:23

Oh and Congatulations Reallygrumpy!

Wonderful news....are you going to change your name now?

No houses appearing on the horizon...will be in this frigging box forever it seems!

Fleecy · 18/06/2010 17:08

Dolcee - I sense you may be a little frustrated with the renting there

reallygrumpy - huge congratulations, what wonderful news!

I wish I could keep my wages. I'm the main earner at the moment

But that's all set to change as DH has landed another client and is going to be earning more than me so we will have a bit more spending - yay! We are boringly sensible with the sharing - we pool everything, pay all bills, set aside money for the kids, unforseen bills, for family birthdays, holidays etc plus general savings then we split the rest 50/50. That way it doesn't matter who earns what.

Where is tulpe? I want tummy news!

traceybath · 18/06/2010 17:15

Fleecy - hope dc's are all better now.

Dolcee - yes I sympathise on the renting front as you know. DH and I spent ages last night looking on rightmove but he is fussier than me.

Then did a driveby this morning of brand new house which I think looks ideal but its in suburbia and DH doesn't want to live there.

I don't see us buying for years at this rate.

Had a dhl delivery - MM's bargain reiss dress but thats going back as the colour did nothing for me. The liberty tucker shirt - way too voluminous so thats going back once I figure out how to do a return as they sent no invoice .

And finally some j brand cords from the outnet which I'm keeping and this [[http://www.theoutnet.com/product/86542 top.

hope everyone has a great Friday night

LetThemEatCake · 18/06/2010 18:22

good luck MM. You are a braver and better woman than me. Hope the week is not too draining - and sorry about the jumpsuit - I forgot about the boob cups. Am certainly no waif but not well endowed in that area ...

LetThemEatCake · 18/06/2010 18:58

Fleecy · 18/06/2010 19:10

DS still ill and now DH has it too. My washing machine has been on even more than usual. Still, so far, DD and I are fine so hoping it stays that way. Thanks for asking tracey

Hope those of you who are out this evening are having fun!

MarshaBrady · 18/06/2010 19:23

ach bad luck Fleecy.

Those of you who go out and drink, what do you drink? I haven't touched anything since on the dukan. Hells what have you been doing?

Dolce glad it's getting better, your no-carb energy levels should really pick up soon
