In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

Morning - am up early but Bea did sleep through - yeay! So feel amazingly refreshed.

Choo - glad grand prix was good - ds's love watching them as does DH.

Esher - oooh can't wait to hear how you find Porto Sani as its on my list for next june - which agents did you use in the end?

And love that bag!

RedBlueRed · 19/06/2010 09:53

Morning everyone.
Oh what a week.
ReallyGrumpy massive congratulations! I hope you are feeling well.

I hope those on holiday have a lovely time, I'm counting down to mine which is still a good six weeks away.

Very impressed by all the Dukan-ing and Shredding. Also more and more tempted as my current regime is frustratingly slow on the weightloss front.

LTEC I love the idea of your 3-outfit day purely for amusement!
I'm in my straight leg jeans (still can't bring myself to try skinnies) and an old favourite cowl neck woollie. Its overcast and windy up here. I will fab-it-up a bit when I go out by wearing my 5'8.5" clogs. I really love those shoes now.
I will change later on to exercise so does that count?

Carla's dress is gordeous, I also think that Samantha Cameron looks amazing for 6 months pg. She is really toned and her bump is so neat. Less impressed by her dress, the stitching on the side seam and hem seems to be puckering, it makes the dress look cheap to me. I think she should demand a refund!

RedBlueRed · 19/06/2010 09:58

Oops gorgeous not gordeous.

vinauchocolat · 19/06/2010 10:11

tracey hurrah for Bea sleeping through!

Cain I agree, Carla stunning, SamCam stunning also but dress a bit weird up top did anyone see the way Carla flicked a fly off SC's dress? She had a brilliant 'I am French/Italian/eternally chic' look on her face as if it were her mission to impart good dressing and photo opps to all

Anyway, am rambling. DP has gone to the pub ''for breakfast'' hmmm. I am here scoffing obscene amounts of carbs and coffee,. Om nom nom (sorry Dukan, I promise to start on Monday)

LTEC you know the Chloe boots don't have essentials/new season tag on them on NAP, they might be in the sale?

And argh, awful snooty PIL lunch tomorrow at awful snooty place- what would you wear? My last outfit was perfect (ancient lk bennett silk dress, lanvin bag, E&J jacket, and new look heels!) BUT I can't possibly re use the bag/shoes. The stepMIL is very observant and judgey.

vinauchocolat · 19/06/2010 10:14

LTEC take heart, my 3 outfit days consist of: wake up, put on sloppy messy home clothes, finally have shower, get dressed (outfit 2) then get vomited on by baby in babybjorn and change top (outfit 3!) no amusement whatsoever!

hf128219 · 19/06/2010 10:17

Tracey Briliant!

I didn't like the top of Sam's dress either. She quite likes 'quirky' things though.

Funny weather here. I am home alone as dh has gone to the park with dd. The house feels very quiet!

LetThemEatCake · 19/06/2010 10:30

hurrah for sleeping through tracey!! No such luck on that front here, sadly. L is soooo close to crawling though so hopefully once he is mobile and knackered I might get some proper sleep.

may have to rethink today's outfits down to 2 - summer fair & dinner with dh. Currently back in PJs despite having showered. Ah well, they are at least Hush pyjamas, darling ...

feeling crosser and crosser with Liberty - so they emailed me to say that my dresses were out of stock. Fine. But where are dh's t-shirts???? wanted them for FDay tomorrow ...

now, what is happening with this meet up?? are we planning a late-ish night? Only I have dd's end of term party that day, runs until 8 (although could get away early, am sure - but have to at least make an appearance....)

hf128219 · 19/06/2010 11:01

LTEC

Here is an email I sent to Liberty yesterday!

Dear Sir/Madam

When is my order going to be dispatched? I am dismayed to find that friends who ordered at the same time have already received their orders.

The tie was a gift for my father's birthday (tomorrow) - needless to say I had to go and buy another gift and post it to him yesterday (he lives in Scotland).

The necklace is also a gift - for a friend who is leaving UK to go travelling on Tuesday.

Yours (a rather frustrated Liberty shopper)

traceybath · 19/06/2010 11:03

I feel sorry for SamCam - there's Carla in Dior and poor Sam is trawling the rails of Zara . I do think she should get a clothing budget really to showcase some British designers and not just the new/cheaper ones.

She also needs a haircut.

Right - have been for a run and saw half a cow's leg in the lane - then had to take boys to see it in all its macabre beauty .

Done washing/chores and am off to see SATC2 this pm on my own!! All friends have seen it so thought I'd go to matinee and enjoy some child-free time.

Am wearing roxannes and new look grey top which I really like. Tis cold and grey here again. Its another rubbish summer isn't it?

LTEC - what you wearing tonight? We were meant to be out for dinner but couldn't get a babysitter so hopefully out next saturday instead.

Yes I hate this idea that British women need to buy high street so people don't get upset.

Poor ol' Liberty bit of dinosaur in the website area (will have words!).

Doing gardening today, seem to keep buying beautiful, bright roses, a gorgeous tomato coloured one and others. Garden is looking very pretty (obsessive).

LetThemEatCake · 19/06/2010 11:24

thanks for that hf - I'll get on to it.

tracey - not sure yet ... I have rather a lot to choose from DH has, however, kindly requested that I don't wear the jumpsuit, muttering something about it being more the sort of thing that I should wear on a girls' night (read: too fashion forward for Mr Surfshop/ Gap )

Maybe a maxi (either black jersey halter or the charcoal American Vintage bandeau) with these

Dukanistas. A question. My mum wants to give it a whirl and is wondering - the 2nd phase, where you do 3 days for every pound you want to lose - is that 3 days for each remaining pound you want to lose after the Attack, or 3 days for each pound you want to lose off your start weight? She wonders whether the Attack phase loss can be counted as 'real' weight loss or whether it's actually just water and a motivator, numbers-wise....??

blossoming · 19/06/2010 12:54

ltec, lol at your mum and the dukan. Will she shred too?!
Re Gillian, ah suddenly everything falls into place!
Btw my forearms have never looked do good!
Re meet up. I can't make it as I leave on the 1710 or I turn into a leek!
3rd re: Sam Cam. I hated the dress. Bigger boobs, lower neckline. But would gate to sit next to Carla too.

I'm falling asleep in a kid's party. Not many mothers to chat too.. May have to hold dc1's 6th here in Sep. Grim thought.

Tracey - hurrah for Bea sleeping through!

Choo - glad grand prix was good! And you too are a fellow houlihan wearer

Esher - how exciting to have it all booked up.

LTEC - dukan. There are 4 phases as far as I understand. First one 'attack' she can do for up to 12 days max but it's usually 5 or 6 days. Then the next phase is where you alternate a pure protein day with a protein plus veg day - you do this till you reach your target weight. The next phase (which I think your mum means) you have to do 5 days for every 1lb you lost getting to your target weight. So, say she loses 10lbs she will have to do 50 days! But it's not that strict and should be pretty easy (I'm not at that phase yet). The final stage is the free for all....but you do have to still do 1 day protein only a week. I hope I've got that right!!!

I've FB'd you for your address.

Fleecy · 19/06/2010 13:19

DD was sick in the night - I'm the only healthy one left! Luckily DH is feeling better today and let me have a lie in. I slept 'til 11am, 12 whole hrs, what a treat!

Choo I thought of you when I was watching the GP. How lovely to go when British drivers do well.

everything I often have two oatcakes with a sliver of cheese and an apple as a late night snack. Substantial enough to fill you up but not too rubbishy. Not sure whether apples are high or low GI though?

Speaking of which, I'm below 10st for the first time in years. Was 10st1 for aaaaages pre-DC so quite happy with this new development. Dukan should knock off the final few pounds. Yay!

LTEC I want to have Natalie's body (not like Gillian does!). So strong and curvy but not too manly. Gorgeous.

esher I have some TopShop Harpers. You can't get them online or in store anymore but they always crop up on eBay. By far the most flattering boyfriend jeans I've found, they skim the thigh and taper slightly towards the ankle so they work with heels and flats.

AllBuggiedOut · 19/06/2010 13:37

OMG was just about to post about shredding and weight-loss and the pub across the road is on fire! I'm pretty sure it's empty; it's been closed for a few weeks so hopefully nobody was in it. Firefighters here now. DSs very excited...

Romanarama · 19/06/2010 15:58

cake did you read the liberty mail carefully. Mine specifically asked whether or not I wanted to proceed with the rest of the order. Stupid question! It's hardly like I needed the 2 different dresses to match or something!

Have just survived the school fair in pouring rain and hail. Freezing and awful. It's a real shame as the weather was nice all last week.

Who is Jillian? I think I'm missing something

traceybath · 19/06/2010 16:31

Lordy - just back from cinema and how utterly disappointing.

I actually struggled to sit through the whole film I thought it was that bad.

A couple of funny bits but most cringe worthy and as to the fashion.

Well SJP looks good in everything because she is teeny but some of the stuff was just mad.

And Patricia Field manages to make the others look pretty awful and fat which I'm pretty sure they're not.

blossoming · 19/06/2010 18:05

romanarama, Gillian is the personal trainer for the Shred workout dvd.

Shame about the film traceybath. It comes to my town on July 2nd. I'll see who can come.
I may be on my own but to me SATC was not about the fashion. I loved the show for their true depictions of single life and dating. I could really relate. But it was 12 yrs ago!! I don't see how it can work with them all partnered up and at the age they are. Just milking it I guess.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 19/06/2010 19:07

I am a bit meh on the Sex and the city thing. I used to watch the odd episode but I was never really that obsessed (which is odd as I'm a horrible tv addict). Tracey - sorry to hear it was a wasted cinema visit.

eshermummy · 19/06/2010 19:50

Another one here who didn't really ever get the SATC thing either, I don't think I've ever watched more than 10 minutes of a single episode! But I have the attention span of a gnat for long running series type things.....

Tracey - I used these people to book hols and so far I have been very impressed - they actually suggested PS to me, seem to have lots and lots of info about all the hotels they deal with and when I asked them to match an internet price with Sovereign they managed to beat it by £600. I booked the flights (Sleazyjet) myself but they would have done it for me for a £50 fee but it didn't seem worth it.
Am thinking of using them to book something (not sure where yet) this coming October.
Only thing I'm a bit dubious about is that I wanted to stay in the Sani Astarias part of the resort but couldn't get the room/dates I wanted so decide to go for the (slightly less exclusive apparantly) Porto Sani Village. I freely admit to being a blardy nightmare when it comes to hols, am v v picky so will deffo let you know if it cuts the mustard.

Cake - have msged you on FB re something else but you are probably too busy getting ready for romantico mealio with DH-io so have a good one

Do you know, every night as I sit on the sofa scoffing twirls and reading the thread I get a strange compulsion to buy the Shred dvd and join you all....will tonight be the night I finally sucumb?

Zembo · 19/06/2010 21:01

eshermummy at you scoffing twirls, sounds like me! and yes I gave in and ordered the Shred yesterday. Think I need to get my act together and exercise always wins over limiting food intake around here. I have got hold of the Carol Vorderman book from the libraby and I like the sound of the principles. Got to go, DH back with my groceries and need to make some stuff for fathers day picnic tomorrow.

eshermummy · 19/06/2010 22:07

Zembo - I am also thinking some exercise is required as have the worst diet in the world (almost 100% sugar Bloss ).
Tried on the two ASOS bikinis that arrived earlier and tbh I really need to shape up.
Quite good bikinis for the price btw - here - I ordered in the green and the flame colours thinking I would send one back but both colours are nice and at that price......seems rude not to.
Okay, so the "sliders" are a bit thin and tinny compared to the weighty ones you get on a heidi klein but the fabric itself is really nice. Went for a size 10 on the bottoms but sadly I still look a bit muffiny in them . Despite being under 8 stone am typical pear with small waist and flat (ish) tum but have love-handles. Will the Shred sort my love handles?

Is noone else around tonight - am about to place a MAHOOOSIVE Asos order and I blame it all on noone being around to talk to me

RedBlueRed · 19/06/2010 22:31

I like that bikini esher, nice price too but am holding out until the last minute to buy mine as I plan to shrink.
I'm tempted by the Shred DVD but I have a Wii Your Shape I never use regularly. I'm about to get on the cross trainer now as its been a few days and I keep finding excuses.
