Excuse, but is this the maxi you all got and thought was fab?

I have been eyeing it up - it looks sort of cool. However I wonder whether blue might be bettr against my skin as here.

Not sure whther the cotton orlinen mix would be more comfy either - what do you think?

they are both currently reduced btw.

And the Christening day dawns....bright and sunny!!

Dd is wearing a white monsoon dress with a silver shrug to co-ordinate with me in the silver and raspberry wrap dress and the boden jewelled slides!
Dc1 is wearing new indigo jeans and a white shirt. Dh is wearing brown cords and pale pink shirt. He looks yummy but hardly co-ordinating! Will have to stand one away from him!

Welcome tethersend.

Have a lovely day Blossoming, I hope everything goes to plan. Your outfits sound perfect.

Aargh, I'm not sure if that was THE dress but its fairly bargainous! Someone who has it will be able to tell you where was from.

I have slept on my clogs (not literally ) and decided the chocolates are the ones for me. My only other choice, natural peeptoes with the ankle strap are not available and wouldn't be as practical anyway.

traceybath · 06/06/2010 09:23

Blossoming - you all sound gorgeous - have a lovely lovely day.

Aargh - I have this stripey one from DP and love it - wore it quite a bit on holiday.

However will make one observation re plain jersey dresses - they do not mix well with sun tan lotion and small children - I ended up covered!

Also - I don't have a teenage DD as yet but lordy some of the girls were wearing such inappropriate swimwear - age 13 in something Katie Price would wear - most odd.

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 09:27

new thread - marking my place.

last night was good fun. Outfit received many favourable comments. Tried to sell that top on ebay not so long ago; am glad now I didn't as I enjoyed wearing it.

blossoming - glad the sun is shining and hope all goes smoothly today. You all sound lovely.

welcome tethersend and aargh

AllBuggiedOut · 06/06/2010 09:30

Have a lovely day bloss. Outfits sound perfect.

I have that DP maxi aargh and love it. I think a few people on here also have this sleeveless one too. And a couple of people suited this Full Circle wide striped maxi but sadly not me.

I like the colours and shape of the M&S one you linked too, but not keen on the knit, sorry.

Which are the chocolate ones cain?

hellsbelles · 06/06/2010 09:37

welcome tethersend and aargh. Tethersend - I have often seen your incredible sourcing &styling abilities on other S&B threads and was hoping you'd join us one day!

Bloss - have a wonderful day.

ABO - the full circle maxi didn't work on me either (though I loved it).

tracey - saw your note on the other thread about the frustrations of the holiday. I'm gutted for you that you didn't get a proper break. For next year have you thought of Scott Dunn villas? Pretty much everything done for you so you get the advantages of a hotel and a villa iyswim. I'm going with them (for the 2nd time) in July...so will report back. it is expensive though...but you get a proper proper break.

LTEC - good to hear you were a hit!

I'm wearing the UO trousers and a vest time and I'm feeling slimer so the Dukan diet must finally be working (will weigh in when I'm home). Still feel full of energy. I could go on the protein only for longer but I know it's not healthy.

MarshaBrady · 06/06/2010 09:40

Hells I might do it. What are you eating eggs, meat, fish? Is that it?

hellsbelles · 06/06/2010 09:45

Marsha - yes. With lots of prawns as snacks! And shed loads of chewing gum plus lots and lots of water. Tea and coffee is allowed (with skimmed milk) and for pudding... 0% fat yoghurt. But it's oddly easy because it's so simple.

Apparently you can do up to 12 days like this but 5 is optimum unless you have tons to lose (which I know you don't!).

The next phase is a bit boring though....you just add in veg and do 1 day mixed protein & veg, then 1 day just protein (until you reach your target weight)...or you can do 5 days protein/5 days mixed.

MarshaBrady · 06/06/2010 09:47

Thanks Hells may give it a go. I love, love veg so will miss it but it's only for a bit. Losing the carbs is easy as don't eat them really anyway. I'm going to eat loads of veg today for a big hit.

I will order just what I need on Ocado and go from there... congrats it's working so well!

tethersend · 06/06/2010 10:05

Aw shucks, hellsbelles

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 10:25

hells what about the oats?

traceybath · 06/06/2010 10:41

Spooky Hells - am just on scott dunn website! Will also order some of the hayfever stuff as am really suffering.

DH off on a 6 hour mountain bike race and I feel quite ill so quiet day of laundry here.

Saw this site and seem to have nice bikinis if anyones still looking.

Back to pre-holiday weight today but would like to lose a couple more pounds to try and get rid of indent.

Hells and Marsha - neither of you want to lose much do you? LTEC - whats your goal now? Glad outfit went down well last n

hf128219 · 06/06/2010 10:49

As well as Scott Dunn www.coastline.co.uk is worth a look.

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 11:05

hi tracey - glad the ill effects of dh's cooking have hit the road!

am reasonably satisfied with weight atm, am 9st8, but would be happy to lose a bit more, maybe try life at 9?

won't be able to do Durkan though, as I don't eat meat and can't imagine that I'd be happy with eggs & fish only.

will just continue in same vein and see if mum's presence and the increased opportunities for exercise, plus continuing to reduce bfing as L gets more into his solids, make the difference (and rid me of the indent!!)

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 11:15

also, all of my SS10 clothes are either just right or a bit big atm, so don't want to lose much or I'll have to start over with my wardrobe. If I can achieve Roma-like proportions by the time we're thinking AW10, that'll be a different matter...

did anyone read Jess Carter Morley's guide to summer fashion in the guardian mag yesterday? it did make me laugh.

hellsbelles · 06/06/2010 11:22

LTEC - you are right I forgot to mention the oat bran. I haven't managed to track it down so I'm braking one of the key principals! oops.

Tracey - one friend got the hayfever stuff to work, one friend didn't so I'm hoping you are one of the lucky ones!

Scott Dunn - I really really loved our break. Never had a holiday like it since the DC's. I actually got to read and rest. Bliss. I'm so excited about the next one.

Alas I do have quite a bit to lose. I reckon another 7lbs or more. I want to get to 9. But the website suggest 9lbs 4 or 5 is about right for me. Not sure what I am this second but I was about 10 4 2 days ago! I'm hoping for under 10 by the time I get home tonight

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 11:27

so if you don't mind me asking hells, has the lack of oats/ fibre made you, ahem, clogged up?

and speaking of clogs, do you ever wear your Hasbeens? I think they look good with the UO combats; imagine they'd also look good with the Houlis??

one last qu' - in that dreadful SATC film the other night, I noticed that Carrie wore the same belt throughout the film - a black studded number. It worked with everything. Have never found a belt to achieve this, any suggestions??

Off to a summer fair this afternoon, what's everyone else up to?

hellsbelles · 06/06/2010 11:27

Tracey - how did you lose the extra so quickly?

traceybath · 06/06/2010 11:30

Well Hells - I tend to find my body ahem stops working when away from home.

Also didn't eat much yesterday as felt so dreadful. So can recommend a combination of hay fever and clearing up bird poo if you fancy that

LTEC - just read your blog and laughed at the 90210 references - I used to love that programme and was very annoyed that I didn't have their wardrobes.

MarshaBrady · 06/06/2010 11:32

TraceyB not too much, but will be the final push. I wore a navy Marc Jacobs a dress from 2 years ago yesterday and it was quite loose (I feel rather archaeological going back in time through wardrobe!) but not there yet.

I am spurred on by people on here saying the Dukan diet is easy (or easier). I'm not crazy about feeling too hungry.

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 11:35

hells how tall are you again??

notyummy · 06/06/2010 11:38

Morning all!

Some great outfits flying around. Think I will oder the TP stripey maxi here on return from holiday.

We leave for the airport shortly, and the weather forecast for Lake Garda has cheered up so its all good.

See you in a fortnight!

AllBuggiedOut · 06/06/2010 11:42

I am wondering whether to try shreding... I'm 9st, 5' 4/5". Was 8st 4 when I got married (ok, that was 17 years ago...) and there's a lot of flab on my upper legs, bottom and tum that I'd like to lose. Can't give up carbs, and am veggie so protein-only fills me with horror. I've lost all my baby weight (4 or 5 stone of it ) by drinking a lot of coffee, eating nothing all day and then having a proper meal in the evening. Think slim-fast but replace shakes with latte But now struggling to get below 9st. Have also lost a bit of motivation, and wonder if The Shred would help.

Is there a picture of SJP's belt?

LetThemEatCake · 06/06/2010 11:53

ABO I guess this is it?
