Did anyone else dress their babies in babygros all day every day until they were 11/12 months old?

I put some of DS baby clothes in the paper stating that it was mostly vests, babygrows and a few outfits. A lady rang up and said she wanted to come and see them. When she got here she said,

"Oh is that all the outfits you've got?"

I said "Yes I did put in the advert there weren't many. He didn't start wearing proper clothes until the next size. Until then my DS wore babygros all day every day pretty much" .

With a goldfish type face "What even when you went out?"

"Erm, yes"

Was I weird in doing that? No one ever commented if I was!!

dd wore babygrows all day until she could crawl, when we switched over to leggings - she was no 3 and I just didn't have time to mess about with choosing outfits!

Yep, both mine were in babygros all day every day til they started walking really, about 12 months. Easier to wash, change, etc, cheaper, for me, warmer, cosier and more comfy for them. IMO.

TabithaTwitchet · 21/03/2009 15:09

I put her in them every day (and night too) until she was over 5 months, but after that it was the height of summer and she was too hot, plus she had started rolling and it was a bit of a struggle doing up the poppers to the right holes, so I switched to a poppered vest with joggers/skirt/shorts during the day and just a vest at night. She has not worn a babygrow since, even at night she wears pyjamas now.

VGL - how old were they when they finally stopped wearing them in the day and out then lol. I think 4 years old might be a bit too old even by my standards

Babygro's for months and months, can't remember when started wearing proper clothes, certainly wouldn't have been before he stopped projectile vomiting after every feed, more comfy for baby as well I would imagine.

Babies in babygros and cardis. Or long sleeve bodysuits and leggings.

Anyone know where you can just buy nice leggings? (That arent part of a faffy set of other stuff that gets wasted)

nappyaddict · 21/03/2009 20:16

Primark and matalan do them. Quality isn't great but it doesn't really matter. All they do is get food on them, sick up on them or crawl around on the floor in them anyway.

DD still wears bodysuits but can't get her to stay still long enough to do up babygros at 18 months. It's PJs at bedtime for us now.

Except for one superman baby gro without feet that is just tooooo cute to give up.

crokky · 21/03/2009 21:07

I did this with both mine. They got things other than babygros when they were cruising and needed to wear shoes to cruise or walk outside. Until then, just babygros.
