Olivia Colman’s newly grown long grey hair

Madamefroufrou · 30/09/2026 10:27

This time last year she sported her usual brunette wavy pixie cut showing
all of her face.
This week she has long crinkly shades of grey hair we are led to believe
she has grown in twelve months, embracing the grey/natural ageing.
Does anyone have an opinion on this phenomenon or believe this heavy
hanging hank of hair looks attractive, or is it perhaps a Statement.

Ooh, I like it!

The grey suits her colouring and the waves are nice.

MiniCooperLover · 30/09/2026 14:10

I prefer the crop but I do like the long too, clearly her hair grows well to get that long in a short time.

Laurmolonlabe · 30/09/2026 14:10

Ah the hair Police- what is wrong with having long hair if you are older?
My mother was like this, I was a dark brunette and wore my hair long but tied back- she insisted at every turn that I should have it cut short and bleached and that women over the age of 35 who wear their hair long should be forced to cut it.
Who died and made you in charge of hair?- surely one of the most personal of personal choices.
When your hair starts to grey ,and you dye it, you have to let it go at some point- most women dye their hair at some point, why would Olivia Colman be the exception?

no requirement, you all having so much fun without me and I won’t be bullied, so fill your boots 🥾 👢

Bullied? What do you mean? Why start a thread and then refuse to acknowledge any of the replies?

Extensions. Could look fantastic but poor quality / texture. So don't.

WhatNextImScared · 30/09/2026 14:16

wtf is this post?

WhatNextImScared · 30/09/2026 14:16

Aside from the fact I find this post grim in its tone and implication, she’s said she’s had extensions. It’s not rocket science.

Actually it’s far from poor quality, that will be very good human hair, likely all from one source, it’s how it’s styled. There is no way she’s putting cheapo extensions in, she’s went with what looks as close to her natural hair as possible,

Also to have that level of volume, in very short hair, will say this is very very high end hair. It’s just styled to look natural and messy

Fairyliz · 30/09/2026 14:21

Well a lot of you have cheered me up. I’m nearly old enough to be her mum and was feeling a bit despondent about my greying frizzy hair. Instead of saying yes it looks a bit untidy it seems some of you might like it!
(Tosses hair and walks off preening)

Ok wrong wording. Of course she'd have paid for 'the best' - human hair possibly. However it's not good for her face for sure. It ages her with its coarse curly yet still weak frizzy looking texture. Realistic or not. Whatever does she care, but we're allowed an opinion..

ClairDeLaLune · 30/09/2026 14:54

She looks great, and I’m not saying that to be trendy! Hair on average grows 6 inches in a year, but that’s an average. Mine grows quicker than that, especially since the menopause weirdly.

Eristealviper · 30/09/2026 14:57

I’ve never liked any type of lobsided ‘thing’, maybe showing my AuADD!?
It never looks ok, makes me think some1’s trying to hide something… a bald patch, a lump, a bruise??
It’s surely difficult to keep it looking that way without getting a crick in the neck too.
Although…maybe it does suit her, giving off her holier-than-thou vibes.

DaphneduM · 30/09/2026 15:04

Her long grey hair looks lovely. But I can't stand her - full of herself and so annoying.

Turophiles · 30/09/2026 13:52

To quote the OP, is it that you think this is 'perhaps a Statement'?

Sorry, what?

WTF is a gummy smile?

It's a smile that shows lots of gum? Look at earlier pics with cropped hair and smile, loads of upper gum visible. Now with grey extensions for a role no doubt no gum visible. I think the hair was to detract from the tweak Grin.

Which is fine but all the 'au natural comments' aren't accurate, she has a face full of botox (which she has admitted to in the past).

TattieSconeEggAndBacon · 30/09/2026 16:34

@Madamefroufrousays “no requirement, you all having so much fun without me and I won’t be bullied, so fill your boots 🥾 👢”

You start a bitchy thread and you say you don’t want to engage in being bullied. Ok…

I think she looks great, she always does, no one should be pleasing other people in the way they look!

That makes no sense, how can the hair both be for a role and to hide she’s had her teeth done. And on the latter who gives a shit,

Huh? Who said you weren’t allowed and opionion? You said it was poor quality hair, I pointed out thay will not be correct.

I didn't say she'd had her teeth done I said her gummy smile has mysteriously disappeared perhaps she's hoping the focus will be in the frizzy extensions and that will be missed. As demonstrated on this very thread.

She's filming a series right now that's got a wartime-ish setting. It's just not that deep - she's got whatever hairstyle is required for that. It's not attention seeking or whatever the fuck motivations people are attributing to it to be wearing the hairpiece/style/extensions that are part of that role whilst going to something to publicise the previous role.
