SOTD is frederic malle heaven can wait. It's a spicy one, not one of the better known ones but I do like it.

Also sprayed (cos you guys know I can't just have one SOTD) Tom Ford Fig Erotique, a lovely sweet fig, almost gourmand, not sickly.

I will probably crack open the Ganymede from the selfridges edit later.

Incidentally are there any Halfeti fans on here or anyone who has tried it and can tell me what it's like. I don't think it's up my alley from the scent profile - sounds quite leathery and spicy - but as always the scent profile only tells so much.

I’ve had a few samples of Halfeti and I don’t think I liked it much. I’ll see if I can find one and give it a spray

CanaryLibra · 15/03/2026 10:08

Yesterday was Memoize London Natura which is a very mild woody unobtrusive scent, layered with Acqua Di Parma Arancia di Capri. It did nothing to improve the longevity of the Acqua di Parma but it did soften the sharp citrus notes. I’ve a huge bottle of the Acqua di Parma to get through - an impulse airport purchase last year - good job it needs reapplying 20 times a day, I’ll use it up over summer.

Todays scent is Carolina Hererra Good Girl - a piffling 0.3ml sample from the Perfime Society, it was barely worth applying Grin.

CanaryLibra · 15/03/2026 10:13

My DH wears Halfeti and I would definitely describe it as spicy. He’s ordered Halfeti Leather too which should arrive in the next few days, he said it’s much smokier.

0.3ml is pathetic, I think the perfume society is a bit of a con with the size of the samples you get. If they did some bigger samples to balance it out it may be more worth it.

CH GG is a classic for a reason, it's a lovely scent.

Im trying out my samples today. Diptique do son. It’s a pleasant floral, not something I would be purchase full size.notes are jasmine tuberose, orange blossom and amberwood. On me I smell the jasmine and tuberose.

Sotd Estee Lauder Beautiful. Comforting on a gloomy day. Forgot how much I like it. 🥰

IDontHateRainbows · 15/03/2026 19:26

Loving the Ganymede. Its a metallicy saffron to start, dries down quite woody/ vanillary.

I dont think Ive ever not liked a saffrony perfume, one of my favourite notes.

Continuing my rose-curious phase with Odeon by Memo which is a lovely sweet almost honey (although not listed as a note) jammy rose. Been in a few beauty boxes and things lately and I got a small bottle on Saturday at Harvey Nicks. If Rose and Gourmand combined it would be something like this.

So strange that I hated Rose for years and now I can't get enough of it! Also sorely tempted by Radical Rose Extrait by Mat Prem but not at the price, it's like £300 a bottle so hmmm maybe that one will be on my christmas list.

I didn't realise we'd moved onto a new thread, I wondered why it had all gone quiet 🤔

I'm gutted that the Selfridges fragrance edit has sold out. I went out on Saturday to go test out the perfumes. I already have Ganymede and really like that one.

I've been wearing my pdm ones a lot recently, but I'm loving meliora. It makes me feel all spring like 🥰 it's light and floral, very pretty.

TheFutureIs · 16/03/2026 08:22

I love a rose scent. Angela Flanders has a fab selection of different styles. Her shop on Columbia Road is glorious
Marfa by Memo for me today, always makes me feel like a proper grown up this one

JoRaRaRa · 16/03/2026 09:13

The Selfridges perfume edit is available to buy online. Postage is expensive, I couldn't find a discount code.

IDontHateRainbows · 16/03/2026 12:26

Glad the selfridges edit is available for those that wanted it. It won't hang around long I'm sure.

I decided not to keep the Halfeti, it's got quite a following but I know I'm not a fan of leathery notes. For me the best from that box are the ganymeded and the odeon, the champaca is a bit meh and I'm not sure the hedonist would be up my street either. Oud maracuja is one of those I'd like to like but fruity oud is not usually my bag.

Ah well two out of six, means I can hopefully make my money back or near enough if I sell the rest.

Signorina Libera for me today, it’s starts off smelling of pears and candy floss to me, and settles into a light musky woody scent.

It’s sample and I could easily be tempted to buy a bottle of this, once the initial sweetness has settled a bit I find it very wearable as an everyday scent.

IDontHateRainbows · 16/03/2026 14:22

Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Elixir. This is one of my all time faves, in a sea of intense competition. I never get bored off it - juicy cherry but somehow not too tart, with an almond and tonka dry down. The only problem with it is, I love it so much I always binge through the bottle at a rate of knots!

Has anyone tried the GG with jasmine yet?

SOTD has been Queen of Silk

Yeah not a fan of the jasmine one, too caramelly and sickly for me, first good girl I haven't liked.

OP posts:
QueefofSheena · 16/03/2026 19:33

That’s a pity, I don’t like the sound of it either.

OvaHere · 16/03/2026 20:56

SOTD was Tom Ford Soleil Blanc. Not worn that one in a while, quite a summery fragrance. It's nice but don't think I would RP (only a travel size).

Two SOTE - first was Musk Bouquet from the Kayali Freedom sample set. Fine but not a love, haven't been overly taken with any of this. Just got the Matcha one left to try.

Then I had a shower and put on Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille which is a lovely bedtime type scent, soft, gentle and clean smelling.

I am tempted to try this but how strong is the amber note? I’ve loved a few different perfumes but after dry down have taken a dislike to them - then realised the one thing they had in common was amber…… so have avoided any amber notes since - but fragrantica lists it as the second strongest note though not many comments reference it so wondering how strong it is?

I love Marfa it’s in my top ten favourites ❤️

Does anyone remember which perfume was described by a poster as ‘sexy marmalade?’ I am getting into orange scents think Its my wishful thinking for summer to arrive 😂 and I remembered the discussion around this but not what it was called 🙈

I'm not getting much amber off it myself, certainly not amber in the sense of grand soir or anything like that. I wouldn't have known there was amber in it if fragrantica hadn't told me. It's a sweet, jammy, almost honey type of rose to my nose. The little 5ml travel sizes are all over ebay, I sold a couple myself (as I bought the big bottle) for around £13 so if you wanted to try it at that price it's not too much of a commitment?

Not sure. Maybe a Molton Brown one. I do vaguely remember as I love orange scents to. X
