I haven’t opened my Lannosea, but I might need to!

OvaHere · 30/05/2026 13:25

Trying out ExN Blue Talisman extrait today. Very fresh scent and in the dry down it reminds me a bit of Byredo Alto Astral. Lovely, I like this one a lot.

Hello perfume people (waving shyly from the sidelines).
I’m really hoping one of you experts will be able to help me. In John Lewis today, at the ladieswear counter, there was a random bottle of perfume so I had a squirt.
We don’t live locally and are now on our way home so can’t check what it was.
it was just ok at first but now I REALLY like it. All I can remember was it had a top of brightly coloured flowers - blue, red, green from memory.
Do any of you have any idea what it could be.? It’’s floral not heavy but has lasted well.
Any ideas?? TIA and fingers firmly crossed.

HardyFox · 30/05/2026 19:34

Oh fantastic, thank you, I will.

HardyFox · 30/05/2026 20:02

Yep, it was definitely one of those, thank you so much!!! I’m thinking Daisy Wild looks the nearest to the bottle I remember and the notes of jasmine and vetiver sound about right too. Will check it out next time I head to the shops, sprayed it about 11ish, now 8pm and it’s still lovely.
Thanks again for your prompt and very accurate response x

I’d like to join if I may; I am driven by scent if that doesn’t sound odd. Love fragranced plants in my garden, a scented candle in the winter and love a long lasting English floral scent. Favourite smells are rose, jasmine, orange blossom honeysuckle and freesia. I loved the old Jo Malone red roses and L’Occitane peony. The JM don’t last as long now sadly, so I’m reluctant to repurchase. ATM I’m wearing Clinique Happy, which I’ve loved for years and last well on me. Can anyone suggest any longer lasting scents so I build a few options up? Thanks so much!

RoseTeaLady · 31/05/2026 09:32

Would anyone here like my small bottle of Abel Laundry Day? Sprayed a couple of times. It just doesn’t work on my skin. Came in an edit so I don’t want any money for it.

TragicMuse · 31/05/2026 09:42

I had a spritz of Lannosea last night. Oh I do like it! The underlying note is very similar to Thameen Cullinan Diamond, which I love!

This morning I’ve tried Bibbi Swimming Pool and that’s very reminiscent of JM English Oak and Redcurrant which I love and they disconned. So I’m very happy with that too.

IDontHateRainbows · 31/05/2026 11:36

In a cherry mood today aso I got out all my cherry perfumes
Afnan cherry bouquet - this smells amazingly like TF lost cherry but a fraction of the cost. It's not a dupe house, but they seem to have got the exact same smell as lost cherry.

Phlur cherry stem - slightly boozier/deeper, very nice

CH very good girl elixir - this is possibly my fave designer frag of all time. Cherry with a deep bitter almond edge.
Cherry is definitely my fave fruity note.

Tried JHAG Lust for Sun from the PS niche Dawn box. Stayed exactly 2.5 hrs then vanished. A white floral,no coconut to speak of.

JoRaRaRa · 31/05/2026 13:07

I've gone for Valaya today, I was fancying something clean 🥰

As well as getting Issey Miyake for my birthday, my sister’s gift arrived - the Bibbi discovery set. This will be fun to explore!

Yesterday’s SOTD was Philosykos, and I noticed a shop in the city that now carries Abel so will go back sans kids to have a sniff in the near future.

Great choice!

@RoseTeaLady I'm definitely interested in your Laundry Day if it's still available? I'm wondering if I have anything you'd like in exchange? What's your preferred vibe?

Have you tried Montale's Infinity? It's a yummy dark cherry.

I had an interesting time with Lannosea today. Had a spray before heading out for a run, then a quick shower and a sauna. Because it's reflectively subtle as a fragrance I assumed I'd quickly sweat it off while running and/or pre sauna shower. However it lingered in a really lovely way. It evolved into a gorgeous sunny but grounded "clean" smell (maybe musk?). It made me think it would be an amazing beach holiday fragrance.

Hi, I’m sorry but it’s already gone.

Oh @Doglover73 my sample of L’eau de Hesperides has arrived. It’s utter heaven! Thank you so much for suggesting it. Gorgeous!

I got 3 sample sizes for £16 all in which feels like a bargain for Diptyque…

NotTheFreudYoureLookingFor · 31/05/2026 18:35

I know this is a bit off topic, but has anyone tried the Tallow and Ash laundry shampoo/conditioner? I tried one of the shampoos, and couldn't really smell it. I've tried a couple of the fabric conditioners (duvet day and oud) and I'm sure they just smell of chlorine!! It's really weird. I'm not in a heavily chlorinated area, and the detergent doesn't contain bleach. It's very odd. I tried the oud one first, and thought maybe my nose was confusing oud with a kind of chlorinated/medicinal smell, but it's the same with the duvet day one (which is meant to be lavendery).

IDontHateRainbows · 31/05/2026 19:17

Jo Malone Scarlett poppy. Never been a JM fan but picked up a sample of this..its nice, subtle but quite sweet and comforting. Maybe I'll get into her scents. The only one I tried before was ginger biscuit, at Christmas..found it ok but a bit too lemony.

Edited

Yes I buy them every so often. I save them for bed sheets and my clothes. Everyone else gets the supermarket stuff. 😂

I find the scents vary in strength but I can definitely smell them as they're meant to be. I don't detect a chlorine scent. If I do a full load I'll put two caps of each in.

OvaHere · 31/05/2026 19:38

SOTD is ExN Lust in Paradise extrait. I wouldn't say I dislike this but it's a little heavy and on the cloying side. Maybe it's not a good time of the year for wearing it. I prefer the other scents in the set at the moment bar The Hedonist, which I haven't worn yet.

DKNY woman again today
