My sister is in the market for a new scent so I’ve pulled a few from the stash for her to try! She likes Oud, sandalwood, rose, lavender, lime. Definitely no orange. I’ve had to go to Fragrantica to make my picks and rule out anything with Neroli!

Still, it’s fun looking them up and seeing the profiles.

SOTD is my own Chypre #3. I love it so much!

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 20/04/2026 13:53

Morning! I’m just trying to be a bit more intentional about self care, and scent is important to me. I’m totally out of touch though.
Is there anywhere or anything you’d recommend keeping an eye on or trying out? A subscription or retailer that good value?

I’ve been without a preferred perfume for a while.
I loved the first, gold, Bulgari perfume but found it didn’t last long on me. I’ve recently found Daisy Dream, but it’s already been around a long time so I’m afraid it will disappear like Bulgari did.
Could you recommend anything similar, preferably with staying power?

It’s been interesting reading your comments about ingredients and so on. It’s something I know nothing about!

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 20/04/2026 14:06

Already, the fragrantica reminds me of function is being helpful! Thank you!

Hello, can I join in please… SOTD Bibbi Swimming Pool, really liked the sample in the Liberty box so have ordered the Fresh Edit.

Wasn’t particularly interested in perfume before last year, now have a few edits and new favourites

Lurkingshark · 20/04/2026 16:25

waves to new joiners! I can’t help on many of those requests. But liberty, space nk and some others do sample and travel size kits. Def look at those rather than full bottles otherwise you will be here for years.

vinted and eBay are often good for samples and travel size they have appeared in edits.

there’s a few subscription boxes, the only one I’d avoid is FFERN. I went into a shop 🤔all v similar. If you can get to a big dept store it’s wonderful, if a bit overwhelming!

I have a 20 voucher to burn in cult beauty- fragrance recs anyone? I’m looking at the Fresh ones ATM

I really like the Commodity Milk from the cult beauty stocking so have bought a few more on Vinted, was targetted in Fenwicks by the Jo Malone perfume ladies last week, got the Sandalwood and Spiced Apricot, which I love (although it’s supposed to be a Christmas scent), I’m a very easy target at the moment!

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 20/04/2026 17:46

@Lurkingsharksorry to sound ignorant but what are ‘edits’ in this context? 😁

Doglover73 · 20/04/2026 19:01

Liberty scent edit, cult scent edit,
There are loads but many are a great way to try different scents.
Im a newby. But many do woody, fresh, floral, etc. Cult do a lot. Well loads of retailers do tbh. Its a hole ive fell into 😍🤣
A few also do fragrance advents. Harvey Nichols, Space NK, Harrods. 🥰

Scent of the day part 8 - the friendly perfumistas will make you smell GREAT!
Lurkingshark · 20/04/2026 19:13

Yes - they are a pick and mix of smaller bottles to test is a bundle. Edit sounds like there is thought gone into it but not sure there is! Cult do some good ones, but I loved the Liberty ones ( some duds and more ££). All the dept stores do them at some point and someone posts them on this thread usually.

it is a rabbit hole! And useful to know how much perfume you actually use if you want to keep a handle on spending (ha! ) and storage. I reckon I do 100ml maybe 150 a year but it’s personal how how strong / light they are and how much you reapply

IDontHateRainbows · 21/04/2026 08:21

L'Atelier Parfum coeur de petales today. This is a light, fruity rose with lychee. Perfectly pleasant for what is hopefully a bit of sunnier weather. Reminds me of delina la rosee, an effervescent, light fruity rose. The perfume equivalent of a rose wine spritzer on a sunny day.

If anyone remembers the perfume society debacle - well they are still trying to shift the big boxes (essence deluxe) which has quite a lot of goodies, 30% off with code BLUEBELL, so I just ordered one will sell half and keep half.

I still use stuff from this box, it's really nice and I think it's worth the money, although I didn't pay for mine (oops)! I am tempted to buy another though.

I have kept my subscription, but the last box was very underwhelming. If the next box isn't any better, I think I'll cancel.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 21/04/2026 17:17

This is a whole new world. I had no idea.

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 21/04/2026 17:22

Done some maths, that’s £60 for 100ml of assorted perfumes.
Does that feel like a good buy? I can float it as a possible birthday present 😅.

It's not bad and there's a range of sizes/smells etc. It's not as good as say the liberty scent kits (in my opinion) but not bad at all, suprised TPS couldn't shift them although at full price I do think it is too much.

WFH all week due to illness /recovery so plenty of time for spritzing!
I found some debaser from ages ago which I've been enjoying, alongside Abel laundry day which I had on earlier.

As the weather brightens I'm defo moving away from sweet heavy gourmands.

I've gone for glossier you Fleur today 🥰 I really like the cocooning of it with the floral touch. It's very pretty 🩷

CorneliaStreet · 21/04/2026 18:58

YSL Libre Flowers & Flames for me this evening. I like it, it’s warm and smooth and doesn’t seem to have the sharpness of the original Libre. I’m a bit sad the sample is now used up.

Doglover73 · 22/04/2026 10:03

Sotd Delina.
Trying to use it up so I can have at least 1 empty. 🤩
Is anyone a member of frantica? Is it worth it? X

It's really good value. Anything less than £2 per ml is good for high end or niche perfume so this is extremely good.

Bibbi vanilla factory today - a lovely vanilla, not too heavy. I didn't think I liked Bibbi as a house but VF and swimming pool have impressed me lately

Evening and i've gone for Matiere Premiere Radical Rose. This is a lovely rose, I probably prefer the extrait version but I got this in the 6ml mini size with some liberty points. So strange how I wasn't into rose at all before and now I am. Does anyone find their nose tastes change over time? Last year all I wanted was vanilla in various incarnations, now I'm loving rose and I've got into freshies.

QueefofSheena · 22/04/2026 18:33

I have a raging cold and no sense of smell at the moment so I haven’t spritzed for a few days. Hoping Liberty release a scent edit soon so that I can use my BD credit.

TheFutureIs · 23/04/2026 07:13

Sotd is Delina. My first try…… this could be expensive! Love the sharp rhubarb opening that has now rounded to a big blowsy rose.
looking forward to seeing how this develops over the day
